Any Booking Issues @ 7 Month When Off-Peak?

We're definitely interested in buying, but was curious...

How is the 2 BR or Grand Villa availability at the 7 month mark when making an Adventure Season (or possibly Choice Season) booking at any of the WDW resorts?

We're thinking of grabbing a HH or VB resale which look to be $15-$20 per point less than one of the WDW resales.

If we could get an off-peak booking at 7 months (and don't plan to visit WDW during the peak periods), any reason not to grab a VB/HH resale?

The most sound, time tested, advice I have recieved from these boards is "Buy where you want to stay". Low point seasons don't necessarily translate into low demand seasons with DVC, sometimes just the opposite. One of the most difficult times of the year to get is early Dec. because of the low point totals.
If you are willing to stay at any of the on site properties and are flexible with your dates you would probably be able to make it work, but if you are going to be disappointed if you can't have BW or BCV or an OKW GV or any of the ones that can be difficult to get at 7 months then i think you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
As a final note, remember the the buy in price is only a fraction of what you are going to pay over the life of the contract in maintance fees, at some point the "savings" on the front end are going to be over taken by the maintence fees on the back end.
Good Luck with your decision:)

WDW off-peak times do not coincide with DVC off-peak times as DVC owners frequent the World during the slow times because it requires less points per week. Before I had enough points at BCV to book a 2 bedroom there, I failed in 4 attempts at 7 months to get one in either Dec or Jan, lowest point times. I waitlisted but was unsuccessful. Because I love BCV the most, I finally broke down and did a second add-on in order to get enough points to get a 2 br each year at the 11 month mark.

If you do not care where you stay at WDW, you are usually able to get OKW or SSR at 7 months because those resorts are huge. The others are much harder to get. I've never attempted a Grand Villa but what I've read out here, people often book those day by day at the 11 month mark to make sure they get it. There are not a lot of Grand Villas and I think it would be unwise to count on being able to get one anywhere at the 7 month mark. You might get lucky but you might not.

We've been very lucky to almost always clear the wait list - perhaps it is because we call right at the 7 month mark???
