Any advice/packing suggestions first time in travel trailer and first time at Fort

Also, to those who have rented from Greenburg, do they give you a quick lesson on the travel trailer or is there really nothing to explain since it will already be set up?
Once again, thank you to everyone for the advice and suggestions. As you can tell, I like to be prepared.

The first time we rented, Matt was there to show us around and how to turn the water heater on and such. The second time, there was a pamphlet with dos and don'ts. Everything was pretty easy. If you have any questions or need anything, just call and Matt will take care of it.

Hi Iburris,
First time posting, hopefully I am doing this right. We are planning to rent from Greenburg for our trip in october. We have it down to 2 trailers...the North Bay or a smaller (cheaper) one with no slideouts isince there's just 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 2 and 5). How did you like the North Bay?

I would just bring a few extra bath towels and beach towels. That's the one thing we ran out of quickly when we rented.

Hi Shelley3577
We really liked the North Bay. It had plenty of room for us. The slide was nice to have because it gave us room in the kitchen area but the only meal we actually cooked was breakfast. If you arent planning on cooking/eating inside the travel trailer you would probably be ok with a smaller one. The only other issue you may run into may be where to put your luggage items.

I use a hairdryer in our popup, which has 30 amp service, and have never had a problem. I would think you'd be fine.

Maybe you don't have other 'electrics' running at the same time in your popup. You cannot use a coffee maker, microwave, hot water heater, AC etc. 'and' the hairdryer at the same time - it's one or the other. We have to have the 50 amp.

Wow, our travel trailer is only 30 amp. We have run the AC and the Microwave... No issues. We have run the AC and a Blow Dryer, no issues. Never really tried all 3. Fortunately (or maybe not) our HW Heater is Gas only (Electric ignition though) so it's a none issue.

Although, it's not really about the "Service" (50 amp or 30 amp) but more about WHICH outlet you plug it into and what is running on THAT circuit. Just like a house, they segment them on different circuits. I would guess (although I never really checked) that the circuit in the bathroom (GFCI) is probably only running the outlet and the Light (which is typically minimal) and it's probably a typical 15A circuit which most blow dryers would be ok with.

I am one of those that never used the shower in my trailer. The bathhouses at Fort Wilderness are soooooooo nice and I prefer to use them. Plus there are 7 of us so it's just easier to grab our supplies and head over to the bathhouse. Quick to get ready, no worrying about "hurry up in there" and seriously the bathhouses at Disney are the cleanest I have ever seen. Oh and they are free so no worries. Just bring extra towels. Other than that just bring your usual hotel stuff. Have a blast! Fort Wilderness is a magical place.

Lburris, we have been to the Fort many times in our 5th wheel. Last summer was bumpy with frame repairs needed, so we rented from Greenberg. There were lots of towels, paper and bath, as well as garbage bags. Do bringthe Clorox Wipes. We also brought along several plug in air freshness, we there was an odor we could not get rid of. In hindsight, I would have brought down a small container of vinegar to wash the floors and bedroom wall, where the smoke from cigarettes was atrocious. They provide a large fan for cooling and ventilation, along with the air conditioner unit. We were in a premium loop, so there was not a problem with hair dryers, etc. showering for a family of four may require 2 in the morning, two at night. We did not use the shower at all, much space in our model was very tight. It may be that your layout is different. Have an awesome time. Just 8 months, 17days for us.
