Just wondering if anyone has any advice on our itinerary. This will be our second trip to WDW...me, DH, DS9, DD6 and we are staying at ASMo. We went the same time two years ago and had a great time!!We planned by avoiding EE and using our UHP tix.

Any input would be great! Thanks.

Sounds like fun to me! We'll be arriving the day you check out! The only thing that I like to do differently would be the Sat. at MK. I see you want to do the early morning and also the late evening. I think it would be worth it to get out of MK fairly early and take a nice long break before heading back to the evening activities - or even going to Epcot in between to avoid the Sat. MK crowd.

I think in general, I like to split the day with a break and go to a different park in the eve. than the morning. Maybe that's just me - and maybe you don't need the break or variety.

I've never done DQ - I'm wondering how it would be for your 6yo dd. I probably will wait until my girls are older to try DQ. I'm sure you're ds will be very into it from what I know of it.

Have fun!

Everything overall looks great. I did notice you have plans for the a.m. after MNSSHP. Just be flexible w/ that. Last year we were really tired the day after and didn't want to do any park time.

We will be at the same MNSSHP this year as you. On MNSSHP day we usually sleep in and take it easy. We usually head to DD for alittle shopping, but make it an easy day w/ naps and/or down time in the afternoon.

Looks nice, but you might consider taking a break one day in the middle of the week to just wing it...take it easy...veg out. The heat and humidity during this time is a real energy zapper. I loved it when we went at this time 2 years ago, but it was not a commando trip by any means.

I encourage you to avoid MK on the weekends. It's just too busy, even in Value season. Sleep in the day after MNSSHP. We found it impossible to get up early the next day after going to MVMCP and staying until they shut the gates. I think your trip needs a little more down time, maybe even a few days with a mid-day break and a hop to a different park just to change things up a bit.

I would be glad to help if you want me to write up a possible alternate itinerary. I love this sort of thing. Whatever you do, remember to relax, it is supposed to be a vacation, not a marathon. :wave2: Maggie

mickeysaver, would you like to help me with an iternary. We are taking our first trip this Sept. I have been reading all the books, signed up for Touring Mike's website. I am so confused and overwhelmed. So much so that I am not doing anything about an iternary right now. I'll take any help I can get. Thanks

Thanks for all the good ideas so far! I would love to see what you come up with! What a nice thing to offer! I am a little nervous about MK on Saturday, but got CRT the first try.....maybe we should hop somewhere else after a break. Also not sure about the crowds at BB on Sunday. I just made a ps at O'hana's for 6:00 on 9/29, might be able to see the fireworks from there. It really is overwhelming! I tried to use the new daily schedule from the Unofficial Guide that gives the best park and one to avoid for each day of the year!

Anyway, really looking forward to see what you come up with mickeysaver!!

We'll be at ASMo the same time you are, except we don't arrive until 9/26! We're planning Fantasmic for 9/27, I can't wait!!!

Steph

We'll also be at the same Halloween party!

T&B

TjKatie.....give me a little time and I think I can come up with something for you. If you want to email me with any other PS's to work with, I would be glad to work around those.

Robinson....I would love to help you too. I need info. You can post it here or email me.

I love this stuff! Maggie

Tigger & Belle......what do you do before the party? This is our first time, not sure what to do during the day.

bigbabyblue.....see ya around movies....what kind of itinerary did you plan for each day?

mickeysaver....the only additional ps's I made were Prime Time @ 5:00 on 9/27 and O'hanas at 6:00 on 9/29. Thanks again for the help!

This trip I will be there with only my DH. Since we won't have many days we are going to a park that morning. We want to go to the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot so will do that durning the day, head back to the room for a rest (if we have time) and then to the party. I wish we had more days to take things slower, but will instead run ourselves ragged!

9/24 Fri.
Arrive MCO 9:30, Tiffany Town Car, Grocery Stop, Check in, Swim, etc.
Dinner @ Whispering Canyons 5:30

9/25 Sat.
8:05 CRT
Get everyone to vote on a Top 5 rides at MK that are must do's. Do those and then leave MK. Consider going to Epcot. Look into maybe doing the Ice Cream Social....it's a nice way to extend the break or just keep a sane pace.....usually scheduled around 3/3:30pm. Stay for Illuminations. Even on the busier days of the year, Epcot is always a good bet because it's size helps to absorb big crowds really well.

9/26 Sun.
AK park - For lunch, do counter service and don't forget to make use of the AK Meal Deal. The coupons for the bottle of soda/water and the popcorn/ice cream for later in the day are really handy. Stay until close.
Disney Quest in the evening

9/27 Mon
MGM Studios
Dinner at Prime Time 5pm
See Fantasmic

9/28 Tues
MK in the AM Leave around 2pm
Go to BB until close
Quiet evening with exhausted kids.

9/29 Wed
Chill out Day
Can go to DTD, Can go explore FW resort....check out the petting zoo....do a carriage ride(would need a PS)...make use of your resort's pool....basically recharge your batteries with a much slower pace - play a round of mini golf maybe.
Dinner at Ohana's for 6:00pm and enjoy the fireworks from Poly

9/30 Thur. (Our 14th Wedding Anny.)
MK EE leave when it's too busy.
Swim at resort pool and relax
Kids to Neverland Club, Mom & Dad to Pleasure Island

10/1 Fri
Sleep late
Epcot
MNSSHP (admission possible as early as 4pm)

10/2 Sat
Sleep Late
TL (yes, it might get crowded, but it's your last day....I'm sure you will be ready to take it slow anyway...lol)
Maybe do an evening round of mini golf

10/3 Sun
Check out at 11:00 and to MCO

Ok, with this plan you get time at all the parks, both water parks and Disney Quest. You might even be able to check out the mini golf courses. I think this lets you experience a lot of things that WDW has to offer, but it allows for down time at the pool and away from the parks to relax and not over do it. Do what you will with this. This is just my opinion, I certainly don't know it all. Maggie

Mickeysaver,

Thanks so much for the offer. I am going to take you up on it. I will be traveling wiith my 3 girls, ages 12, 10 and 8 and my husband, who swears he will never go back. This is our one and only trip. We are staying CR 12 th floor

9/27 Mon
Arrive afternoon head to MGM
5:30 PS at Sci FI
8:00 Fantamsic

9/28 Tues
AK in the am
5:30 PS at CP
stay for Spectro and Wishes

9/29 Wed
6:10 PS at Calif Grill-not sure we want to eat here

9/30 Thurs
EE MK
11:00 am PS at Chef Mickeys

10/1 Friday
12 yr old is turning 13
BB in am
MNSSHP pm - still not sure we are doing this-haven't order tickets

I need help. I am now very overwhelmed. We want to do as much as possible but still be able to take breaks. Don't want to wear everyone out. As I said, this is our one and only trip.

tjkatie -- My concern was also the full day at MK on Saturday. I would go to CRT, then enjoy Fantasyland (or the thrill rides) before the crowds arrive and then leave (probably around lunchtime)

Mickeysaver -- where would you do Spectro on this itinerary? I consider it a "do not miss". I hate that they don't have it more nights now.

Mickeysaver -- I don't want to overwhelm you, but I'd love to see what you suggest on my itinerary for December. If you're willing, I can either post or email you all the details of my trip. Would love to just get some other ideas or perspectives. But again, I don't want to inundate you or overwhelm you with requests. I know you probably have lots of others things to do! :p

By the way, where do you live in Atlanta? I just moved from there to Vegas -- have lived there since 88.

If you're getting to Orlando so early, why not head over to MK that first day to do a few rides? I would have a hard time being at WDW most of the day without going to a park, especially if I had the length of stay park pass.

Thank you mickeysaver! I do agree I was nervous about the all day at MK on a Saturday. I like the idea of heading to Epcot....maybe sneak back to MK later just for spectro and fireworks!! I also like moving BB from Sunday. It's just that they close at 5, so we won't have much time there after MK on Tuesday. (head now spinning! :).....We really like your plan, we will let you know how it goes!! Thank you!!

Also, do you have to pre purchase the AK meal deal?? Or, is that something you just purchase at the counter service restaurant?

Tigger&Belle....we have the 7 for 5 package that starts Saturday, I just did the room only the night before because our schools are closed that day, so we won't have tickets until Saturday. I also added room only at the end, so our travel day will not be wasted. My husband got a little nervous, because or trip getting longer and longer! We are from Maryland too!! Originally from NY, but moved here about 8 years ago....Frederick County. How about you??

robinson....my husband was the same way our first trip (two years ago)....but after watching him chase Pooh to Toon Town one morning for the kids, I knew he was hooked!! He loves it just as much as we do now....so you never know!

That makes sense! We live in Montgomery County. I go up to Frederick on a regular basis, usually to go to Costco. As a matter of fact I was at the Frederick Petsmart on Monday and fell in love with a kitty in their kitty room. My DH would disown me if I got another cat, but I would probably press the issue if we weren't going on vacation soon. I may call today and see if the kitty is still there... You aren't going to Petsmart any time soon, are you? lol

tjkatie-you cracked me up. He doesn't want to go at all, but is being a good sport about it. He keeps saying this is our one and only trip. We will not be going back. Maybe he will be like your husband. I can only hope. We will be there at the same time. Let's hope my husband has as much fun as yours.

Ok, this is my suggested plan. Again, I am not an expert. I just know how I like to tour the parks. I hope you can find some of this plan useful. If you have other things that you would like to work-in or change, I take no offense. I just like playing with this stuff.

9/27 Mon
Arrive afternoon head to MGM
5:30 PS at Sci FI
8:00 Fantasmic

9/28 Tues
BB early in the day
Take a break around 2:30pm
Go back to room and regroup
5:30 PS at CP
stay for Spectro and Wishes

9/29 Wed
AK Park
6:10 PS at California Grill
Consider changing to an evening at DisneyQuest
or explore DTD with dinner at somewhere in the DTD area
or dinner at Trail's End over at FW and
do a family carriage ride (would need a PS for the carriage ride).

9/30 Thurs
EE MK
11:00 am PS at Chef Mickeys
Hop to Epcot
Stay for Illuminations.....your family has to see this!

10/1 Friday
12 yr old is turning 13
Sleep Late...by this day, you will need it
MGM
Must do MNSSHP!!!

This is a bit of everything.....not a whole lot of any one thing except maybe MK and MGM. I don't know your family that well, but if you apply these basics along with the info that Tour Guide Mike gives you, hopefully, you should have a really great time along with enough pixie dust to inspire your hubby to maybe consider another trip.
