I'm currently planning a surprise trip for myself and DW for the month of August 2009. Not certain days in August, the entire month! I'm going to be telling her that we're just not going to be able to make it next year but that we can plan for a small trip in 2010 if she wants. She works for a school division, so has both July and August completely off and I have very good flexibility at my work as well. Good thing she doesn't read this particular board!

I thought that disney is only booking up to dec 31 2008...please tell me how you are booking into 2009!!!

Phone them directly. They'll book it at 2008 prices, then adjust when the online booking opens up...

I have updated again folks!

Good news for me! We have "up"ed our trip to end of April or first part of
May. We won't be staying a whole week this time but a 5 day trip is still just as nice! I am hoping it won't be so hot!

We could do the week if we went in June but we have to fly to Wisc. the early part of August for a family reunion. I will need a longer break then six weeks between trips. So Dh and I talked about it yesterday and thought that end of April or Early May would still be nice weather wise and the girls would only miss three days of school instead of a whole week.

Here is the big Decision: Caribbean or Riverside??? Anyone?? Help??

I chose the Riverside...I liked the atmosphere more (judging by pics and reviews) and I liked the pools etc for the kids....

You have, in my opinion, made a good choice! The grounds a re beautiful and if you like to take strolls you will find nice places to check out. Wasn't uncommon to see bunnies sunning themselves! Pool is wonderful for kids and it provides a nice break from the parks! We enjoyed the food and the fact that we could eat in a food court AND there is a nice sit-down place as well. Felt it was like being in a separate part of the world compared to the other moderate resorts. Wouldn't stay ANYWHERE else.

Just booked airfare for April 8-15 (spring break) 2009! It was low $200's right now.......I assume it will only get higher. Plan to do a split stay between Vero Beach and WDW as long as there is availability. Can't book until 7 mos. out so I'll be counting down for that!

We have had to postpone this trip twice now and keeping everything crossed we can keep these dates.
