Any 2009'ers? We have enough for a list!!!!

Can anyone join in? If so add me (sand2270) for May 2009 (2nd-10th) at the Beach Club.

I may be a solo adult with my DD8 and would love to meet up with some other adults for 1 or 2 nights out (Jellyrolls, Pleasure Island) or to join us for ADR's (Biergarten, Prime Time) but I will post something when it gets closer.

We're planning a trip for mid-June 2009! :cheer2: We're still debating between the BC and the Poly, but we've got lots of time to decide, I guess. ;)

Out of curiosity....When will y'all start booking your trips? Once the 2009 rack rates & packages come out? :confused3

I booked a room only reservation through Small World Vacations and put down a deposit for one night to hold it. She said the rates were based on 2008 and would change when the new rates came out.

We are booking a package through Disney for Friday and Saturday nights (POP Century, DxDDP, 8 day MYW tickets w/ PH and waterparks & more option) and then renting points from a DVC member for Sunday - Thursday nights (AKV, DxDDP). We will be booking with the DVC member around the end of the summer and then we plan to wait to book the package through Disney around Nov-Dec - the package rates will be out by then :)

We also plan on going ahead and booking our airfare as soon as the rates for March come (if I find a price I'm happy with) out in fear that they are only going to go up more!!

Sounds like a plan! :goodvibes We're definitely doing DxDP as well.

Renting DVC points is a good idea. I love the AKL! It would be cool to check out the new villas. I wonder if the new building will be finished by then.

We've got a villa booked at Davenport Lakes for 14 nights commencing October 10th 2009 but haven't got flights booked yet.

Oh I see... I've never planned this far ahead before. We usually book 3 to 4 months out. It'll be nice to be so prepared this time, though!

Have you used Small World before? I'd be interested to know if you like booking through a travel agent.

We're planning 2 weeks, too. I can't wait!

First time using them since this is our first real trip to WDW. They were recommended by MouseSavers and it doesn't cost me anything. I am a bit of a control freak and like to do things myself, but it sounds like they will help you find the best rates, book ADR's, etc. so I decided to try it to help alleviate the stress that always follows my control-freakiness LOL.

So far been satisfied. I gave her my requests and she booked the room. We did it all through email which I prefer. I think I had 2 weeks to pay the deposit. Too soon to do much of anything else.

We have a room at CSR booked Jan 8-11 for the Half Marathon. DH and I are going with our best friends (they have their own room) and no kiddos! Then 1/11-1/15 we are off to Sandals in the Bahamas. Really looking forward to this adventure!

And going in August with my oldest dd. She is turning 12 in August and deal is 12th birthday= Mom and Me trip (nice rule I made up huh?). So we will go I hope the 3rd week of August. DH is off 3rd and 4th weeks each August so he'll be able to be home with the other kids. I hope to go Sunday-Friday or Saturday. Not sure where yet. Would LOVE to do Poly. We'll have to compare some numbers. Won't be booking this one for a little while.

2009 is going to be a good year!

Allyson :)

I would never call anyone else a control freak...but I have to admit I feel strangely at home on these boards :) . It is a feeling of "Wow...there are other people like me who think it is perfectly normal to start planning a trip over a year out...and make many, many complicated packing lists and excel spreadsheets...and price out whether paying OOP or using the DDP makes more sense". You people get me...sniff (j/k).

Tokyo Disney is great. I only went to DisneySea but recommend it highly to any Disney fan.

We stayed at AKL for our honeymoon in January and we LOVED it!!!!! We also did DxDDP and LOVED it as well!!!! This time we are taking my mom and dad - they have never been to Disney World before :goodvibes I am so excited to take them!!! My mom had originally wanted to stay at AKL but there was just no way we could afford 7 nights in a savannah view room... Then I discovered DVC point rental :) We are staying Friday and Saturday at POP since DVC points are extremely high for those nights, and then 5 nights at AKV. I am really, really, really excited about this trip! From what I heard the new building at AKL/AKV is to be finished in early 2009 - if all goes according to plan it should be completed and we will be able to request this building!! We will be getting 2 Savannah View Studios :worship:

I know it's almost a year away but I'm planning a trip for myself and 3 kids for the 3rd to 13th of February '09. It will be my son's 12th birthday so he's thrilled and my niece and nephew have never been. my Fiance thinks I'm nuts planning this far in advance but he didn't complain when I planned a year ahead for our last trip.

I can't wait.... I think I may be more excited about this trip than my Honeymoon in July.... is that sad? :rotfl2:

March 8th - 13th at POP Century. I called yesterday to book and have been in a great mood since. I love talking to CMs!

Yippee a whole group of peeps who are just as crazy as me! This trip has been in the planning stages since 2000 (yeah you read that date right)

We will be arriving November 30th (monday after your Thanksgiving) and staying for a FULL TWO WEEKS

Staying in POR (although it is still Dixie Landings in my heart)

Reason? heck why not right ... oh wait i forgot there is an actual reason our 25th anniversary

We are looking into possibly changing our resort..... We are currently planning to stay at AKV, but it's filling up really fast and we aren't ready to book yet. We are looking into Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas. What do you fellow 2009ers think???? AVK may be avail, but we want to have a back up picked.

Already put down the deposit on 4 night land staying at the Poly and 3 nights DCL. Really excited!!! I have always wanted to stay at the Poly and do the DCL. Early booking rate made it possible.

The only problem is that it is so far away!!!

Me too! 4 nights at the Poly and 3 nights on Disney Wonder in October 2009!Seems so far away....

YES!!! Another 2009er here. We are taking our daughter for her first Disney trip/4th birthday in April/May 2009. It certainly has its advantages planning this far in advance. Her first trip is going to be absolutely magical!!!:rainbow:
