My husband was filling out our ticket application last night to get our season football tickets for USC - University of South Carolina. The total with our and our friends is over $2000.00. I stopped cold in my tracks and said "do they take Visa?" He said yes but why would we do that! I said "I want the Disney points!" So we filled it out with my card and that will be 20 points!

Just wanted to share - Diane:thumbsup2

If you have any other creative ways to get points, please share.

I was thinking the same thing..I've only started using my Disney Visa..and frankly I got it more for the room discounts being offered in advance to card holders. I was wondering however..if you could use the Disney Visa Card..to pay your mortgage..anyone ever done that? Our mortgage is not with Chase..but another bank. I wonder if it's possible..that would be a great way to accumulate points. Use the Visa to pay the mortgage..and then just put the payment to the Visa right away. Anybody??
I did just pay for our Disney Package at the WL for May..and figure then I can take those points with us for the trip..got it in right before the billing cycle ends, so it's available to me next month by the time we go.:thumbsup2 Since my son was going also..I put his package on my card..and he will reimburse me...so we could get more points. Accumulated quite a few points that way.
I think I would prefer to use it for big ticket items, as they are easier to keep track of..rather than little things..that could be forgotten about, resulting in a balance I wouldn't want to keep. That's just me though, some people may be better at keeping track than I would.

I put EVERYTHING on this card. From groceries to gas for the car!

Here are some of the things I do every month:
Gas for the car
Groceries
Montly electic bill
Cell phone
AOL - when I paid for it
Newspaper

Some of the big things I have done:
College tuition
Paid off DVC

These are all things I have the cash for but instead of paying in cash I put it on the card...got a TINY amount of interest for another month in the bank and paid it at the end of the month.

I am not sure how much I have cashed out for in the past few years but I am at over $350 for my July trip. My guess? Probably $1000 in the past 3 years...free money!

Tuition...! That's a good one..wish I had thought about it in January for our Spring trip...but good to keep in mind for the fall semester. As a matter of fact..I believe my daughter is taking a summer course. Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2

I'm a Hurricanes fan from Miami, I did the same.... racked up 30 easy points.

We have paid off our HIGH dental or doctor's bills with Disney Visa BEFORE insurance. Then we get a check from the medical facility for the insurance part.

I tried to put my mortgage on it, but the mortgage company said NO. My electric company will not allow it either. I do have my phone/satellite/internet bill, cell phone, and gas bill automatically taken out through my Visa.

I had a Pampered Chef party and put all the guests' orders on my Disney Visa and had them pay me cash. Not a ton, but it was another $5 for Disney!!
