Another waiting for Southwest thread!

But have you seen the rates just prior to the August 3rd cut off? I just priced some random weeks and the lowest one-way is $124.00
If they open up today, I will not jump at those rates. Roundtrip would be $265.00 with taxes. UGH

I believe they were cheaper than that when they first opened up though.... I can't imagine it will be more expensive than what's available with the other airlines. I'm hoping for the best anyway

Isn't that crazy!

After the last release they still had $59 fares the day after the release, I could have had four tickets for MHT to MCO in July for $542, now if I get them for under $1,000, it'll probably be good.

The last time they released dates I could of also had $59 dollars one way out of Buffalo, too bad I wasn't traveling during that time. I need 9/19-9/26- come on southwest. All I have to do is book my airfare and I will be all set. We are going back in September this year to enjoy our 2nd year of free dining. I have made my ADR's not waiting for airfare to open up.

My question is? I wonder if the cheap airfare will be left next week because I am broke this week, lol.

It's usually set rates across the board and to me the weekends sell out first, so they could still have a cheaper fare left for a Tuesday or Wednesday flight, but they will have unavailable listed under Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

I did it.. I cancelled my son's appointment. I am a b-a-a-d mother. It was only for a physical, so maybe not that bad. I rescheduled for a time that does not conflict with the potential opening of SW's schedule.
So here I sit.....and sit.....and sit.
Last one to book a flight is a rotten egg :grin:

If they open up at $129 I will not buy from them. I will buy a ticket from NW for $177 RT although it does have 1 stop. Hoping and praying its is today and that it opens at $59! I have a feeling it is today I registered with them today which I had not done before LOL

I'm hoping for at least $79, afterall, it is hurricane season, not that you would know it by looking at everyone else's airfares.

I got my two windows opened and I'm ready to book some airfare!

They will more than likely not open at $59 or even $79. I would say the $99-$129 fares (depending on market) are what to look for. Also, I don't think they will open today, just my thoughts but I believe it will be next Thursday.

Now, if they open high, you can wait for a sale or book and then recieve credit for a future flight if the fare drops and you can re-book it.

I am waiting SWA!!!! I would love $59-$79 from NY but I think they'll be more like $99 if not more. $100 is my cut off one way (5 of us) If its more then we are driving.

Anyone know the buzz over at Flyertalk? It shuts my computer down when I call it up (something to do with our servers, or my broke-down Mac at work).

I heard a report on The Today Show about rising airline prices and people just bucking up and paying for it. I have a feeling SW is going to pay attention to that just like all the other airlines. The DING! fares have gotten stingier and more restrictive than they were at first.
