With all the talks about certain use year months being sold out at WLV, I guess I still don't understand how all this works.

This is how I was assuming it would work... they would start the use year month the month they start selling the resort. After all the points available for that month were sold out, they would move on to the next month and so on. (I know they skip a few months). I am now assuming they save some points each month for add-ons, is that how it works? If this is not how it works could someone please explain it in an elementary manner. Thanks.

When owners at another DVC resort add-on at VWL, they will add their original use year. The use year being sold at any given time is usually several months prior to the current date- so that Magical Beginnings may be utlilized for purchases.

DVC has never sold certain months until sold out. The entire year is proportioned into use year blocks. When one block is sold- no more points are available in that use year.

On Feb 2, VWL sales will end to non-members. Any remaining points will be available for add-ons until those are gone. That may take a few months to happen.

Disney typically sells a use year that begins 4 to 5 months before the month of sale when it is marketing new sales. Thus, for example, in April 2001 it was selling December, in July 2001 it was selling March. Thus it sells use years on a rotating basis and keeps doing so to new purchasers until sold out. As a result, it never sells one use year month until it is sold out before starting to sell another. Disney also sells add-ons under which the buyer gets the same use month as his original contract. The ultimate result is that use years tend to sell out at the same pace throughout the sale of the resort. In other words, if one month is sold out right now, you can bet that all other months are virtually there too.

Thank you once again for the answers. Sorry to ask so many questions.

There is NEVER a need to be sorry for asking questions here, only be sorry if you don't ask a question you should.

Thanks Mike! You definately make me feel like less of a pest! I am sure I will take you up on the offer for more questions once I actually start the process next week when BCV goes on sale. Thank again.

Sometime the questions other posters ask are questions the rest of us didn't know we had yet!
