Howdy strangers!!!!
Hi Alex! It's 8:19 PM here, and the kids were annoyingly obnoxious, so we sent them to bed. DH and I are now snuggled under blankets watching tenors (priests, judging by their outfits) on PBS, and the quiet is so lovely.![]()
DH's temp is up a bit (a good thing), and I'm hoping mine is down a bit closer to normal (I haven't checked it yet.) I took a long nap this afternoon, though the boys were goofing around in the next room, so I wasn't sleeping deeply. Still nice anyway.![]()

bump bump bumping along....
N took archery as a unit for phy ed in school, he's been asking for a compound bow ever since his first class. This is a child who rarely expresses any interest in a specific activity (beyond video games).
He researched and asked his phy ed teacher where the school rents the bows.. off we went to check out prices today.
More expensive than we thought... but they do have youth tournaments that he can join to compete. The store has an indoor shooting range, we watched a group for awhile.. ranging from pre teen to senior ciitizen.
Mostly guys, there were two teen girls hanging out with their younger brother and dad.
The lady at the store told us that the student bow is also called a family bow, any age group can use it and it does not require adjusting or much else in terms of maintenance.
They only had yellow and magenta in stock, N voted for blue .. looks like next week he will get a bow and it will be his birthday present.
Hubby and I find it interesting that two "city people" created a child that adores the outdoors.N has interests in fishing, rock collecting and tracking animals in the great outdoors. Last year he had a blast finding snakes, lizards and watching for animals on the surrounding mountains. Now we add archery to his interests, told him I don't want to see him shooting bambi.
He rolled his eyes at me, no mom... it's archery not hunting.

Very rough seas the first night and I was sick by dinner time. But still had fun. Arrived early in Nassau and hit the straw market (got DD a cool knockoff Coach bag for $40). Then went out to a reef in a clear water kayak, fed the fishies and watched them thru the bottom of the boat. Very neat. Pix, you would love Nassau, one entire street of nothing but high end purse and name brand products, along with lots of bling! But you know me, I went to the straw market and bought the cheap knockoffs.
Got back on the boat, had formal dinner. Food was very good...ate & ate & ate!
Despite feeding my breakfast to the fishies as chum at 1,500 feet I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was colder than expected, but we still rented wetsuits and went snorkeling. I didn't like snorkeling, need to practice in a pool first, kind of panicked me. Plus it was very windy and kinda rough seas, so not good for a beginner to learn.
Thanks all of you who commented on my pic.
Here are the two I bought from the photographer , the proceeeds were used to continue the Smooch Project. http://www.thesmoochproject.com

Not bad for an unplanned pic in the heat and humidity of a MN July. We were attending the Uptown Art Fair, hot and sticky! Just a few weeks before we had moved back to MN, the joy of being with family again is reflected in our happy faces.Maybe some day I will hire the photographer to do family pics.

Nice. Alex wants to go parasailing.. I told him his dad could take him.Hi Ladies...quick drive by posting. I'm back on dry land.Very rough seas the first night and I was sick by dinner time. But still had fun. Arrived early in Nassau and hit the straw market (got DD a cool knockoff Coach bag for $40). Then went out to a reef in a clear water kayak, fed the fishies and watched them thru the bottom of the boat. Very neat. But you know me, I went to the straw market and bought the cheap knockoffs.

The next day we went to CocoCay (private island) and I parasailed first thing in the morning (blowing chunks on my way down)!Despite feeding my breakfast to the fishies as chum at 1,500 feet I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was colder than expected, but we still rented wetsuits and went snorkeling. I didn't like snorkeling, need to practice in a pool first, kind of panicked me. Plus it was very windy and kinda rough seas, so not good for a beginner to learn.
Anyway, we are back on dry land and contemplating WDW tomorrow. Gotta go pick my nephew up from school so I'll TTYL and my sister will put our photos on so we can show you.![]()
