Welcome back, dizzy! Sounds like you had a good trip. :)

I am just checking in before heading off to the bank. Our snow is almost gone from the streets now; my street is pretty clear on the lane across from us, but on our side there are large clumps of snow piled up where people got stuck and parked, or snow got shoveled. DH drove through the gutters so they would drain down the street, otherwise big pools form around the clogs. A few of our neighbors must have clued in, because the next day a few were out shoveling the gutters. :thumbsup2

Hope you are all keeping warm and enjoying time with your family! :grouphug:

Hey Alex - I might of missed you, I was trying to catch up. It is crazy how much snow you guys got - we only have an inch or so left on the ground - but I hear we got 8 inches or so while we were in Vegas.

Hiya, dizzy. I went to post on another thread, then check back on this one before I left. ;)

I hear crying now, though, so guess I ought to run for real... :sad2:

Good to see you back! We've missed you! :thumbsup2

You would think by now you would have purchased the Neilmed Sinus Rinse.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

:rotfl2:

pixster... I thought you knew by now. :sad2:

How do you like the storm? I have the Curve but am thinking of upgrading. I'm just not sure if I want an all touch screen phone.

The blackberry storm is really cool. It's similar to an iPhone but got better reviews than the iPhone. It's really fun to use and I was able to make my own ringtone. It came with an 8GB memory card. It's fun to type on it because you could tilt the keyboard. It also has a link for youtube so you can watch videos and the quality and sound are excellent. It also has a link for facebook which is good. :)

Oh really? Is it a factory then? Did he do a tour?

DH's aunt and uncle live there and have invited us several times to visit. It would be fun to go, I think, but we worry with the kids if there'd be enough for them to do; or for us to do WITH them, to state it more correctly. Of course, they'd probably be happy as clams playing in a hotel pool all day. I guess some of them are pretty spectacular, too! FIL was saying one place actually trucks in sand and has an indoor beach as well as pool! :rotfl:

I think the hotels sound fabulous. No idea if we could afford to stay in the Bellagio or Venetian or whatever they are, but it sure would be fun to walk through them. Canals, water shows, a carnival, an indoor beach, a mini Eiffel Tower and other famous landmarks done "miniature"... I asked DH if the Grand Canyon was nearby; he said not near enough for a day trip, but close enough for an overnight or something like that. I've never been there, either. Of course, I'm not eager to take DS4 there just yet... :scared1:

M&M Store - really just a store - 4 stories high. There is a "tour" where you go through (not literally) the process of becoming an M&M. Then there is a 3D movie at the 4th floor that involves the M&M's. It is very cute and free.

The hotels on the strip range in price from ok to outrageous - but it is very possible to get a good deal. We stayed at the Luxor, which is a decently nice one (the giant pyramid). DN had to pay $280 for 3 nights in a 2 queen room, where I found an online code and got a 700 sq. ft suite with an extra sitting room for $380 (total for 3 nights).

There are a few different options to do with the kids (We went every year 98-04), then this was our first trip back.

One you can stay off strip at one of the station hotels. These are decent hotels - with all the gaming inside at actually CHEAP prices. The nice thing about these and kids is they have what is called a kids quest. This is a giant indoor play area for kids - there is a ball pit, video games, snack bar, really I could keep going on and on. They will watch your kiddos for an hourly rate of around $7/kid. Our kids used to love the place.

Circus Circus - off the strip, but not really in walking distance has an indoor amusement park for the kids.

Other then that we enjoyed just walking the strip with the kids, but I will grant this last time it seemed somehow more crowded. We were without the kids, so I am sure it would have been doable, it just didn't seem like it with them not there.

There are neat things in pretty much every casino on the strip that kids would enjoy seeing. Our kids were pretty bummed they weren't going - but it was our 10 year anniversary - they were staying home  :woohoo:  :woohoo: :rotfl2:

Grand Canyon is about 2 1/2 hours away. If it were me with a wild kid (ok, it is)...there is no way a child of mine is getting out and looking at the grand canyon. We drove through it once, and fortunately Alecia was asleep. There are no barriers, it is slippery with ice, and quite honestly I thought I would end up at the bottom.

I don't know if I should go to the doctor but if I feel worse tomorrow then I better go. I've been taking Sine Off which is for runny nose, stuffy nose and cough. I've alo been taking Halls strawberry cough drops. At least this cold isn't as bad as my previous one 2 months ago.

how are you? How was your Christmas? I haven't seen you around. We miss you and your little blue paquitos! ;)

 Sorry you don't feel good. I started to get sick before our trip, but kept doing the zicam nose swabs - they kept me from getting super sick. I survived on Sudafed and throat lozenges though :rotfl2:

All is good :goodvibes Christmas was great - we started at home to open presents, then drove through rain, hail, snow and sleet (literally) to get to the valley to see our family. Then we dropped off the kiddos and headed to Vegas :cool1:

I haven't been able to jump on too much with work - it seems like I am always working :sad2: - I miss you guys :goodvibes

Oh and Pix thank you to you, Alex and Melody for the Christmas Cards. :goodvibes I got them all in the mail when we got home. Unfortunately though i ran out of time to do Christmas cards this year :lmao: .

Wow! I'm glad you made it to see your family safely. :) Cool, Vegas sounds like fun. Did you win anything?

Nah, unfortunately not. The good news is my mom gave us some $$$ for Christmas, so we didn't really spend much of our own. We found a crazy game (of course on the last night) and stayed up til 2am playing (although we made some money doing it). The game is new, and I am guessing it won't be around for too long. Basically to play all you are betting is a 5 card poker hand (you have 2 cards, and the dealer shows you 3 more). The stupid thing about it though, is at the point in time you are guaranteed to win, you can triple your bet - and guarantee not lose, definitely worked in our favor, but not the casinos :rotfl:

I don't know how to play any of those casino games, except the slot machine. :rotfl:

:rotfl: DH doesn't really like the slot machines, so I have learned a lot about the table games. There is no way I will play them alone, and if they are slow I will sometimes sit down and play with him :lmao:

My cousin said that she took her daughter to the restroom and from the time it took them to go in and come out, her husband had lost $200-500 gambling. :faint:

I'm too lazy to take down my Christmas tree. Christmas just zoomed by too quickly this year. :sad2:

I was thinking of getting the iPhone. You know WalMart sells them now. I'll have to go to the AT&T store and play with them both and see which one I like better. I really like the Curve.
