nope, having my turkey dinner thing on Sunday (just us) as we were turkey deprived on Thursday.

I was going to whip up a pumpkin dump, only to find that every recipe I looked at calls for evaporated milk.. how does one evaporate milk?

No more shopping-- please!

I looked in my sock drawer, amazing thse thngs I can find in my sock drawer. Took out dying batteries.. one duracell ,one energizer. Put in found batteries.. one duracell , one energizer. Puzzling? me too. These were originally scanvenged from a blood pressure machine.. dead from cat teeth puncture.

Sounds like my house. I keep a gallon Ziploc baggie of batteries in my sock drawer also.

Funny that you can see evaporated milk isn't it? Everything else evaporates into thin air, but not milk, it evaporates into a tin can.

Maybe laughing at the foolishness of making my own evaporated milk?

I will have to ask my sis what she did, she made it as a gluten free/ casein free think she just used less rice milk.

hope all had a good thanksgiving. it was busy, busy, busy here. I finished with all shopping..I did go out on Black Friday and help my sister collect what she was trying to get for the kids........

Ran into some very rude people.....cursing and acting like idiots...they spilled out a bunch of their things they were getting...so some people helped them collect everything and were nasty about it...a simple thank you would have done wonders...so they spilled their things again...and everyone just stood there looking...you know..fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me..I am guessing there isn't anyone that wanted to shame themselves..

I am gearing up for our shopping trip to NYC...the second week in Dec. DH and I leave for a few days...I can't wait........

Evening gals.. Peachy weekend here at the Staley house. NOT. So Yesterday morning I was in the tub, and chatting with the hubby.. I hear Alex yelling at his sister. WHAT DID YOU DO??? You BROKE daddies XBOX. He goes running in the living room. NO. She didnt break it. But.. We did get the red ring of death. I blame Bernice. No. Kidding. But it did send me into a bit of a panic. Seriously. I dont have an extra $300. right now to get him a new one. We cant send it back, the 3 year warranty is expired on it. YES. We have had it that long. He got one of the first that came out, so it is a freaking miracle it has lasted this long.

Merry Christmas babe! You are getting anew XBOX for Christmas. I was wanting to get him a new one. THe first gen. doesnt have all the stuff they come with now... But I wanted it to be a SURPRISE. Not something he knew was going to happen.

I know it doesnt seem like that big of a deal.. its just an XBOX. But he works A LOT. He doesnt ask for much, and doesnt buy stuff for himself. The only thing he wants to do is spend a little time playing his games.. its how he unwinds, and I feel miserable. Oddly. He is acting like he doesnt care all that much. Thank goodness. Because this wasnt the worst thing that happened this weekend.

There is something wrong with our van. It only has like 30,000 miles on it, and it is acting like the battery wont charge. BUT.. It is showing a full charge. It is taking a minute to start the car, it just doesnt want to turn over. Im calling the dealership tomorrow to make an appointment to get it checked out. Hopefully whatever it is will be covered by the warranty.
