I'm too old for Seventeen Mag. I never did understand their advice tips. "How to get a boyfriend" or "How to get the man of your dreams" and then the next page is: "How to dump a guy in 5 easy steps"

You would be surprised by "today's" Seventeen magazine. I know the first few times I read it after DD got the subscription I was a bit surprised. Not to mention I think I may have learned a few things.:rotfl2:

The reason they give you that advice is because they know...the man of your dreams usually turns into the man of your nightmares.:rotfl:

Argh... What rating is Christmas Vacation?? Can my kids watch it? I dont remember any b00bies in it.

I pay nothing for my subscriptions-- well it use to be very easy to get free magazine subscriptions. Less offered now than before. Many are digital versions instead.

It got to the point that I would just toss them as soon as I got it.. too many to read!

yeah Seventeen is like a baby step to Cosmo now :scared:

I miss Jane magazine, that was good! Great articles on women's rights and health concerns. Geared more to the twenty somethings.

okay, hubby in bed and so must I or he will not sleep-- and blame me :headache:

I can stay up late to chit chat for the next several nights though

NIGHT!!!

Night Bernice!

Time for bed ladies. I'm totally swamped at work this week, so I'm getting up at 5am to go in early the next couple of days.

Happy Dreams to all!

Hmm...who to send the magazine to....

Megan..so she can panic over what she will be dealing with in a few short years.

Bernice - so she can realize that stinky boy socks and farts really aren't that bad.

Albort - so he can drool over Vanessa's pics.

Pix - so she can laugh at all of us that have kids and know what we are dealing with while she is at the mall.

Melody - so she can sit down and scratch her head and wonder when she ordered the magazine and when she'll ever have time to stop and read it.

Gina - so she can send in a change of address card and have it put in her DS's name as a joke.

Alex - so she can have something to roll up and swat swinging chandelier boy down with.

Oh the possiblities are endless.:rotfl2:

My rule of thumb...if they are too little they won't get it or be bothered by it. If they are old enough to understand it then they've already heard about it at school. If they have a puzzled look on their face or question something just say "beats me, go ask your Dad".;) :rotfl2:

Alex, Besides being there for the Candlelight Processional, the crowds should be light. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lighter than at Halloween time in my opinion. I don't think I will ever go again during that time. The closer you get to Christmas, the crazier it will get. But even if I had just one time to be at DL, and it was the busiest day of the year, I would still choose the
Christmas season. That is how special it is then. Of course that is just my opinion.
you know, lynn thinks the same, that it will be pretty quiet. i was a little wigged out when i saw the park hours and nightly fireworks, but she said they set that months in advance, she doesn't really think (in this case) that it is a true representation of the crowds that will be there. here's hoping you both are right! :thumbsup2

My parents have to go on a business trip and will not be able to spend Thanksgiving with us. My mom is sad and she and my dad would love to be here if they could. They need to visit a customer along with our overseas office.

My aunt gives my mom a hard time. She says things to my little sister like: "Oh your parents don't care about you. They are always travelling and they never take care of you." She says stupid comments like this to my mom. She wouldn't dare say it to my dad. My little sister never listens to my aunt and argues back (this is her way of defending my parents). It's just ridiculous and wrong. My mom asked my aunt if she thought they were going on a vacation because it was for business and they need to go.
pix, that's really awful. is this your mom's sister or your dad's? if it's your dad's sister, he should be the one to deal with her. if it's any consolation, everyone has at least one idiot relative. :sad2:

Soooo...Because your parents go away, your sister is going to marry a woman? :confused3 Im confused. :lmao:
i was thinking the same thing! :lmao:

I know Aunt X thinks differently on many things. I'm almost certain that most of our family does not understand the way she thinks. Please do not let her comments make you feel bad. When you are not a parent, it is easy to make snap judgments on how others raise their children. You are a good mom!
pix, i think every mom sees things she could do better, or could have done better. so i think it's pretty awesome that you told her this.

2 pounds is good. Everyone was a little surprised by how big they were. It scares the crap out of me.
that is good sized, especially for how early they are! i think my friend's dd born at 31.5 weeks was right around there, maybe a tad less. :thumbsup2

oops, yes i'm still here. ;)

i had to get the kids to bed, then was trying to get caught up while dh was talking about work... :rotfl:

how cool is this? dh's former boss just sent a package from harry and david, along with a card saying it was his pleasure to have worked with him, and that he wished him well in his future. :thumbsup2

is it truly evil of me to point out that most of the goodies are bad for dh's heart? it's true, after all... :lmao:

:lmao: Thats cool! More yummies for you to eat!:cool1:

no clue.

had to settle for ice cream. needed to finish off that one anyway.

Bummer. ;) I hate it when I have to settle for Ice cream. :lmao:

yeahhh, it was getting old, but i'm too cheap to just throw it out. it was a drumstick (ice cream cone) flavor, and i thought i'd like it, but it was just ok, not great.
