"I have a job"

anyway, he starts Monday.

The sub in that class told him good luck, you'll need it. And not to trust them with the science kits

Prinicpal expects him to have a very rough 2 week "breaking in" by the students.
It's not that different than last year.. well except the principal is not sea hag

At this point he doesn't even have a contract signed. The staff need to contact HR and put him in the system. The principal said she was "99% sure" she was giving him the job... I was like huh??

But it's due to HR paperwork and getting the other teacher moved out.

If anything he will sub in another class until they clear out the current teacher.

He's already planning out team building and behavior expectations

he told me that the kids have the saggy pants, saying swears at each other, hitting, students who don't belong in his class pop in and say something obnoxious. Kids wandering in and out of the room.

He asked the principal if he can lock the door, not the best option as you want to be welcoming. But for the first few weeks he wants to send the message.. if you leave, then you are gone. Getting control is the first step.. then determine where should he srat-- it's already been one quarter, but I wonder if they even have covered any of the objectives yet?

Oh and put a sign on the door...students entering this door during class hours will be considered part of my class and will be required to attend the entire hour! That ought to keep them out!

Oh and a poster for the wall...students are required to stay seated during class. If you are out of your seat, goofing off I will assume you have learned to overcome the force of gravity and will expect a two page paper discussing gravity turned in the next day.

Thank you for not swearing in our classroom. Students heard swearing will be required to hand in a 2 page paper discussing how vocal cords work.

Boy aren't we all glad I'm not a teacher. I would have smart alec things hung all over my classroom.

I actually had some very neat science teachers in middle school. One of the things we studied towards the end of the year was calories. I can remember as an incentive to finish up the unit (they were kits where you worked in teams at your own pace) he would let us do an experiment in how heat affects calories (or something like that). We got to bring in our own steaks, cook them on their portable grill. The teacher supplied the steak sauce, baked potato, butter and sour cream. Then we got to cook and eat our steak in front of the entire class. Life was good!

Are you kidding me? I have been crying all week. I hate being this sappy. I feel like a dang goober. I actually had a total panic freak out thing last night because Mikalah has this little sore on her lip. Its NOT a cold sore.. I dont even know what it is. Its just a little red dot in the middle of her lip. She said she bit it. Most likely... but I still had a cow about it.

Then today Alex's teacher was telling me how much she just loved him.. and how great he is doing.. all that jazz.. and then she said, You are just doing the BEST job with him! I mean.. Sure, I know.. But it made me cry all over again! Im a ding dong.

Then yesterday.. Oy. I Cried all freaking day.

Anyhow... Dinner? Oh yeah. Hot dogs, tater tots, green beans, and rice a roni. Just because I wanted some rice a roni.
