I felt these threads were helpful while I was for complete my purchase so here is mine.

76 days from offer to reservations on two 107 point VGC contracts from the same seller:

04/06/12 – offer made and accepted
04/09/12 – purchase agreement received
04/10/12 – sent to ROFR
05/08/12 – ROFR waived
05/21/12 – all information required to close received by Title Company
05/25/12 – closing packet emailed to buyer/seller
05/30/12 – buyer/seller documents completed, funds received
06/05/12 – documents sent to recording
06/12/12 – recording complete, Disney notified of transfer
06/19/12 – in the DVC system
06/21/12 – points loaded, ready for reservations
07/02/12 – membership cards arrived

I used Fidelity and Timeshare Title, Inc. I felt like the Title Company was a little bit slow, but I may just have been impatient. I purchased Title Insurance and I think that delayed the process by a few days too.

Congratulations!!

I know this has probably been asked before but does it seem to make a difference in the time for loading points into the system if you already have an existing membership?

Congrats! I know this has been discussed before but I am interested in hearing your perspective. Once, Disney was notified of the transfer and the paperwork was sent to Disney, how did you find out that you were in the system? I am assuming you waited about a week and called MS? Disney was notified of our transfer on 6/21 and I was planning to call on Thursday once it had been a full week. Does that sound like a good plan?

...and thanks for posting seeing the timelines really does help!

I am not really sure because but I do not think it would make much difference because one person loads the contract and another loads the points. Regardless of whether or not you are a member, the new contract must be added to the system.

Congratulations to you! I did exactly what you suggested: I waited a few days and then called. The first time I called they said it would be another week. I called back a few days later and I had been in the system for three days and my points were loaded. Call Member Administration (option 2).

If you are adding to an existing master contract you might see a 2 day shorter time line.

Our membership cards arrived yesterday. It's the one thing that moved faster than expected.

How did you know that you'd moved onto the next step? Did you get an email saying the closing papers had been received from the seller, or did you assume that once you sent your funds, the papers were all done on both ends? I ask because I'm also using fidelity and I've had to ask them each time where we are. I sent in funds and signed closing docs but I'm not sure where we are now. Is the title search done or just estoppels, for example.

You don't get closing docs until estoppels have been done. Fidelity sent me an email once we were closed and the deed showed up the next day on the Orange County site, thought I don't know if there is any way to check for your VB deed like that.

I do know estoppels were done, as Fidelity said I'd get docs after they got estoppels. I'm just not sure if the title search was done simultaneously or if that's another wait period now. VB isn't OC, so I'm not sure how to check. I'm guessing I'll get an email at some point. Or maybe I'll just get a membership card in the mail in a month.

Since we purchased in California, Fidelity used Timeshare Title. While seemingly a little slower than some of the others, the title company did track online the important dates all along the way. You just enter your file number and name to access the information.

This is my title company, too. Where do you enter your file number? I'm sounding like a real Luddite.

Thanks. Turns out this is not my exact title company (mine has "& More" at the end). They all sound alike, just like the websites for the sellers.
