Another reminder: check points after successful waitlist

Recently a waitlist for OKW cleared The waitlist was for a HH category room at OKW and replaced a non-HH category room. Both rooms required the same number of points. When MS canceled the original room and booked the HH room they used current use year points instead of the banked points that the original room used. I only discovered this inadvertently. The problem was easily fixed by calling MS but I am becoming paranoid about checking my points. Heaven help those who do not regularly look on the member website to see what MS is doing!

Thanks for the reminder! I'll gladly check when/if my waitlist for a BLT studio for December comes through! MS will have to borrow points, and I did tell them what sort to use.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I have often wondered about how this works because I had a Member Service representative almost book a trip for me 6 months into the future with my Holding Points. It was me who reminded him that I cannot do that. I know I did the right thing by being honest but I can see how these mistakes can happen. Its the old "human element" I guess...

Good reminder! We're going down on Saturday for a stay at the Boardwalk. We were at OKW and waitlisted for Boardwalk - i didn't know the waitlist came thru and called MS to check. They told me it had come thru and then told me how many points I had left for this year in holding. I shouldn't have had any points in holding since I was using more points on the new ressie. Took almost 10 minutes on hold, but they did straighten it out for me. I too was very glad to have checked by accident! That was our first waitlist, so I'll be sure to check any time we waitlist in the future!
