Another Moonlight Magic reservation question

Maybe I should start a megathread with FAQ for MM.

My scenario.
I have a studio booked for 2 nights and 1 night is a MM date. I also have a 2 bedroom booked for the night before MM , which also qualifies for early registration. I have MM night waitlisted in the 2 bedroom.

If I secure MM tickets during early registration due to having rooms booked will cancelling one of these reservations impact my tickets?

If I get the 2nd night in the 2 bedroom and cancel the studio will that cancel my all my MM tickets if I had only secured 5 tickets?

If I secure 7 tickets due to having a 2 bedroom and then cancel the 2 bedroom and keep the studio will my 5 tickets still be valid?

I'm no help as I have no idea, but I would think that it almost certainly wouldn't matter at all unless you cancel during the window between early and general registration. After that, anyone should be able to book, so why would they care?

So, if the waitlist comes through, do you have enough points to just hold onto the studio until the general registration window opens, then cancel after that?

I do have enough to hold it. I wish MS actually knew what they were talking about when you called or chatted. But sadly they don't and I don't want to mess anything up.

Totally agree. That would be kinda scary even if you know what you're doing because sometimes they don't.

@VGCgroupie what if you update the waitlist to replace the two nights in the studio with the one night in the two-bedroom. If it matches you can note it's a continuing reservation and nothing is cancelled

Back again. MM registration next week. I am only going to secure 5 tickets not 7 just to avoid any potential problems. I am so paranoid about having these 2 reservations though. I will end up cancelling one of the 2. If my 2 bed waitlist comes through thats what I want to keep. The chances of that happening are slim to none so I will likely end up keeping the studio and cancelling the 2 bedroom so nothing will be getting replaced by the WL. The rules dont really say anything other than WL's cancelling a reservation.

How do I be sure I dont fly all the way there to be denied entry do to cancelling one of the rooms? Both rooms were booked prior to the cutoff, both are on the same membership. I really wish things were more clear for MM and MS had clear cut answers.

I emailed and asked rather than doing chat or phone call, maybe that will get me a valid answer and somehow give me proof in case I get denied entry.

So I emailed. The first response was the same ole canned copy and paste response of what is on the rules not actually reading and responding to my question. Frustrating. I responded telling them that I was frustrated with the response and clarified my question again. The 2nd response they understood and confirmed if I dont reserve more than 5 tickets and dont cancel both reservations my MM tickets will be fine.

late on this but I had questioned MS before about a waitlist coming through. As long as the waitlist was done before the cutoff registration date you are good to go, believe it was the 10th. Unless they changed the rules, since nothing is really spelled out for waitlists.

Interesting. My WL was initiated before the 10th but I understood as long as the WL replaces your qualifying reservation it was okay even if the WL was setup afterwards.

think it depends on who you talk too. sadly disney will always win and hopefully your reservation is safe

MS chat totally screwed me over before. I wasnt going to cancel a christmas vgc reservation unless they checked and told me for sure I wasnt using any otup on it that I would lose and the agent told me I wasnt and I cancelled and sure enough otup were there! Then when I called for a solution, they blamed me for not keeping track. I do not trust.
