Another Car rental glitch-Now Fixed!!

Glad some of you got a bargain, have being trying to get on line all day but i knew if i let Wayne know he would get it posted. We booked ours a few weeks ago with hertz at a cost of just under £900 for 27 days, to book now with expedia its £271 (less quidco) :scared1:, unfortunatley we had to pre pay so this deal was no good for us but glad its helped others, fingers crossed it gets honoured for you all :thumbsup2

Thanks Wayne, standard SUV for a fortnight in August £265.

Cheapest I'd seen was Hertz direct at £380.

;)

OMG id be gutted :sad2::guilty:
thanks to you we have upgraded from a 4x4 to a large 4x4 (dh would have upgraded anyway, so saved me a fortune at the airport!;)
the cheapest quote we got for a med 4x4 for 21 nights was £650 the average was £750 and a large 4x4 was approx £800...so you have saved us a fortune.
so not only do i have to buy wayne beer at the pool party for the cheap flights, i think we owe you one for the cheap car hire, lol!!

I look forward to it tracy - did i mention i dont drink beer only champagne :rotfl2:

Wayne has found out that i can cancel mine for £30, just checked again on expedia and the biggest vehicle they have ( there are 7 of us) is is not quite as good as the vehicle we have booked, but the saving is quite a bit - infact it almost pays for one of our rooms for 4 days onsite at universal !
So now i have to decide if i should stick with what we have got or lose £30 downgrade a little save loads and pray that they honour this deal.

.

:rotfl2: me too honey;)
we lived in reims for 9 years and im an expert on champagne, as you only live 1 mile down the road you ll have to come round 1 night ;) i ll show you how to drink chmapagne lol, there is a skill to it!! 1(its the only alcohol i drink, so really, dont crack a bottle or the pool party will take on a whole new angle:rotfl2:)
my opinion wold be down grade and save the money, you ll only be in the car 15-20 mins per trip and if you are flying into mco, then not worth the savings for the short trips...
...we have a3 hour journey up from miami, so a bit diff, we need the boot space, however i would have got (like last trip) a small car just for jumping around onsite (dh and ds 12 got the car and me and the 2 little ones got on ME year so was only for hopping and ddint need to get the suitcase, kwim?)
how important is a fancy car to you and your family?
;);)its v important to dh, its the start of his holiday picking the car :lmao::rotfl2:

The main worry is we are also doing 2 nights down at clearwater and have to take all the luggage with us before we check into okw. We did say if it was a struggle from mco i could even do 2 journeys to save that sort of money, and on the way back a couple could jump on magic express. A fancy car isnt really important and to be honest anything would be an improvement on last years wreck.
Just realised your only down the road, My in laws who are coming with us this year live in wolverhampton and we are in kingswinford. Im like you dont drink beer or spirits the only alcohol i like is asti spumante and champagne:thumbsup2
Get the cork popped im on my way :rotfl2:

Thanks to Wayne & Burt - booked my car for our trip in December.:goodvibes

Hopefully you can report back on how the shuttle is - did you notice on the confirmation it says 'extra hour: UDS 263.40' - I take it you best be on time when getting back! :scared1:

Ours isn't as bad, only $210.72/hour :rotfl2: or $52.68/day, will be cheaper to keep it a day. :thumbsup2
You do get 29 mins grace for late returns.

Ive done it :cool1: to good an oppoertunity to miss so i have booked it, found some other vehicles aswell so we now got an 8 seater full size 4 wheel drive, it was a bit more expensive at £331 but for 27 days seems like a bargain to me. Hope this gets honoured and i dont have problems cancelling original booking :thumbsup2

Our Late fees are 494 dollars an hour or 83 dollars a day :confused3, think someones booking system is messed up!

How did you find the 8 seater?

On the first expedia page where you put in your dates instead of leaving it as any vehicle i clicked onto full size, gave me a lot more options than leaving it on no preference :thumbsup2.

The 7 seater that we have already got booked shows up aswell - that was even cheaper £265 for 27 days, but thought we would splash out on the extra space !

Ah, why didn't you tell me earlier, loads more choice:rotfl2:
Glad you didn't or I would have spent More money booking something like the Ford Expedition, totally not required but at only another £100 I would have.

Glad you didn't miss out.

Thats what we have booked the ford expedition, havent a clue what its like but it was the right size for us :thumbsup2

Now anyone with a glitch for the hilton at clearwater they want to share :rotfl2:

Thanks for the update, booked for May 20 nights in ford expedition £331 as well now.

Beats the £608 I've paid usrentacar. God bless their £15 cancellation insurance.

Wayne, I owe you a beer.

The glitch seems to be that you only pay for one weeks hire how ever long you go for, we are paying exactly the same £331 for a ford expedition but we have it for 27 days, not sure what the price is on the hertz site as i cant even find the expedition:confused3

Try looking on travelrepublic.co.uk and thomson, i just booked hilton at clearwater for oct for £95 per night which was quite a bit cheaper than a lot of other sites! Not quite as good as this car hire deal though unfortunately!

Expedia/Hertz would be a lot cheaper for us, but Hertz is off site. We will have two car seats, double buggy, luggage, 6 year old, 2 year old and newborn about 2/3 months. I do not fancy getting on a minibus with them and off again. Anyone know of a cheap car hire at MCO airport? Going on the 28th Dec for 17 nights, need a 7 seater.

Thanks for that Wayne. Any idea how to put in to collect from MCO but return to TPA. Expedia don't seem to give this option anywhere and I don't want to book and then try to get them to change it and find they won't.

They are supposed to be back onsite from April but no-one at Hertz will confirm a date.

I believe someone on Dibb rang Expedia and they did it on the phone at the low rate but you will have to read thru all the thread to find out for sure, its got to 14 pages on there now.
