My cousin is getting married in a couple of weeks in Green Bay. She called my mom and is requesting that guests either wear yellow (gold) or green. Packer colors!! :earseek: Being the die hard Bears fan that I am, I am really tempted to wear purple and orange. :rolleyes1

The things you are asked to do!!

Hmmm . . . I guess I wouldn't be going, since I don't any yellow or green dresses. I do have a couple of green t-shirts. I guess I could wear those . . .

:rotfl2:

I have a feeling she lost her mind way before she became a bride :rolleyes1. I've never heard of anyone being able to dictate what colours their guests wear. And yellow of all colours!!!! I swear there are probably only 8 people in the world that look good in yellow.

Those Packers fans. I'll come with you wearing Vikings colors;):teeth:

Maybe the happy couple will provide cheese heads for party favors. :teeth:

I think your cousin has lost her mind.

Yep and I'm definitely not one of them! ;)

If she's seriously it's a completely ridiculous request and something she should've noted on the invites not called 2 weeks before the wedding about. I'd just wear whatever I wanted and not worry about it.

I'll be in the minority here and say that it's not that crazy. I wouldn't do it myself though :teeth:

She probably thinks it will look cute and make some great pictures.

To each their own. I don't think it would kill anyone to wear green for a few hours.

I'd either wear what I wanted (I look horrible in green & yellow), or not go.

Hey, I love the Mets, but I wouldn't ask my guests to wear blue & orange!

Would those be LIME GREEN t shirts or Packer green :cool1:

I saw a purple and orange themed wedding at Yacht club a couple of years ago and wondered, "OMG, why?!"

Now maybe I have an answer to that question. Thanks! :teeth:

Are the ushers wearing green tuxes, and the bridesmaids wearing yellow gowns? Are she and the groom wearing yellow and green?

I have a perfect Favre Jersey to wear....oh wait, I'm not invited!!! :rotfl2:

To each their own, I guess!!

I've never heard of guests being asked to wear certain things, just the ushers, bridesmaids, best man etc. I know the parents of the happy couple will often try to coordinate outfits with te colour theme too, I've seen that a lot. When I was at a wedding at the weekend I tried to make sure my outfit colours wouldn't clash horrendously with the wedding party colours (they were in black, white, maroon and gold so I wore a black dress.)

Is asking guests to dress in certain colours common in the USA?

OMG I never thought of that!! Oh this could be horrendous. The worst I thought of was the groom and groomsmen wearing Packers vests.

Queenie - Nope it's very uncommon to ask wedding guests to wear certain colors and clothing. Basically, she's asking us to come in the colors of her favorite football team.

Only among the seriously crazy. :sunny:

Well, I have to admit this beats my "crazy bride" story hands down! ::yes:: We went to a wedding over the summer where the recessional was "Fly Eagles Fly" :rotfl2: :rolleyes2: I thought that was pretty bad (there were other weird things too, but that was the "worst") but asking guests to wear certain colors?!?!?! :earseek:
