I just read your first post and  about the  during the church sermon. My DS7, pdd-nos, at age 5 thought our church choir was hysterical and laughed like crazy whenever they would sing. :rotfl:

Well, hello! Kathy, is it?

May I say I just read your TR today and,

1) Tricia is so cute! She reminds me of myself when I was that age (well ok that was 3 years ago). I had (have) the Samantha AG doll. They're all so beautiful. I'm also obssessed with Pins and Pin Trading!!

2) Billy is very handsome. He seems to be doing well, even with Autism.

3) You have a very nice writing style, what with the dog writing and all. I might just have to "steal" the idea for my PTR. Going to WDW in August!! :goodvibes

4) A very good TR so far. I'm inspired to write mine! (Well...eventually...duties of a student pile up FAST!)

I can somewhat relate to Billy. My mom says I possess some Autistic qualities (she works with kids with Autism) i.e. texture issues with food, can't have food touching each other, don't like people touching me (some people, anyway!), etc. I'm also usually in my own little world.

I have Fanconi's Amemia, a genetic bone marrow disorder. And hearing loss. And scholiosis. Yuck :sad2:

Still, give my best to Tricia (tell her she's one awesome kid!), Billy, and Amiee the dog (oh and Jessica too, we can't forget about her now, can we?!)

Happy Easter, Kathy and family!

Wow... just read through all 86 pages. Thank you so much for posting your adventures in Autism! You have no idea how helpful this is for a mom of a recently diagnosed ASD child. I hope to someday hear "I love you mommy" and know he isnt just repeating me. That must have been such an amazing moment. You have an amazing family and I am totally hooked on your report!

just stopping by to say :wave2: Hope you had a great St. Pat's dinner (we did that too) and a blessed Easter

looking forward to morepopcorn::

Hey, you guys! :wave2:

I know I've been MIA...between the plans for the addition, looking for a place to stay this summer, and some recent problems with Billy I just haven't had any time to DIS. :guilty:

Regretably, Billy has been having a lot of behavior issues and has been experiencing frequent periods of agitation. It has really been disruptive to the family.

Where has my sweet boy gone?? I lost him once when he was two years old to this god-awful autism and now I feel like I'm losing him all over again. Ed and I always consoled ourselves with the fact that he was generally a happy, joyful child. Sure, his "stims" and "scripts" were quirky and sometimes annoying, but he was always pretty well-behaved and never aggressive.

Now he's hitting and scratching people, constantly breaking things, and in a constant state of agitation. It's like a stranger has taken over his body. Seriously, I should go out to the garage and see if there is a pod from Invasion of the Body Snatchers out there.

Anyway, sorry to ramble on.... we were at the doctor's today and he's going to try a new medication. (We took him off the other one awhile back and he's been au naturale for months.) I'm feeling bummed...I don't like the thought of medicating him, but for Heaven's sake, he just seems so unhappy and cannot manage his behavior. I hope it will help.

And YIKES!! We're heading down to Disney in less than a month!!

Well, I know I left off with the promise of details about our breakfast with Pooh at Crystal Palace, so here's a quick pic to tide you over and let you know I have not forgotten you.....

(Wow, it was really sunny that morning, wasn't it?!)

I'll be back soon,

Love to all,

Kathy

:grouphug: Kathy, I am so sorry to hear this. I hope the new meds work. Maybe the Disney trip will help things somehow :confused3. I am praying for you, Billy, and the family.

We will be around whenever you get back to this, real life is way more important than DIS life .

Kodak moment right there :thumbsup2

Hi Kathy! I'm sorry to hear about Billy's troubles lately. :sad2: Alex was very aggressive when he was about 3, but outgrew that as he learned to talk more. Autism definitely seems like a roller coaster... we finally think we're in a groove and something turns Alex's world upside down and his anxiety takes over. We've almost gone to medication a few times, but haven't had to yet. I'm sure it is just a matter of time for him - he now has the label of ADHD to carry around with him too. :headache: You have to do what's best for Billy and it sounds like medication might be it right now. Like you said, you can deal with the disability, but it's too hard to deal with a sad child.

You'll be in my thought! Keep us posted, even if it's just a quick hello. :grouphug:

Oh, Kathy I'm soooo sorry you and Billy are going through this mess! i will keep you all in my prayers.

Kathy, has anything changed? The reason I ask is MB was exactly the same; sweet, nice, cuddly, and happy.

Then, in a two month period of time, his great grandma died, his grandpa died and we moved! He acted just like Billy.

We tried a bunch of different meds to calm him down but then our little MB was gone... just a drugged up drone in his place. :sad1:

Over time, he's gotten A LOT better. He's on no drugs now and back to happy and doing well in school. We have a LONG way to go but it's better. If Billy has had some changes, it might explain it and hopefully, over time, he'll return to your sweet little boy.

Hey Kathy

Glad you stopped by to check in. We worry when we don't hear from you.

With the family support that Billy gets I am sure he will get through this ruff spot in life and be back to his old self....well not old self becasue it isn't that old..so I guess it would be his young self in no time.:dance3:

All of you are in our thoughts :grouphug:

Kathy, I just wanted to offer :grouphug: and my support. We too are starting to experience some challenging behaviors (biting, hitting and kicking) with our Madelyn. We too will be in Disney in less than a month. Maybe we'll see you there! We will be at the Poly with our little red head. Thank you so much for sharing your trips reports. It really helps us fellow ASD moms with our own planning.
