ANOTHER Adventure in Autism (4/15) A Taste of What's to Come...

Since I only have boys, I love reading about your AG adventures & looking at your pics. Can't wait to see more! :surfweb:

Alex just joined the Special Olympics swim team here in NH. He'll only be 7 this year when the big event is held in June, so he won't compete until next year, but the team lets 6 & 7 year olds practice with them. :goodvibes Apparently the pool where they practice is quite a bit colder than the pool at the YMCA where we usually swim! :scared1:

Would any of my DIS-friends care to take a guess as to the identity of my "secret" visitor?? :lmao:

Great updates Kathy,

Now nothing against AG, but maybe your secret poster could do a pictorial tour of the local auto parts store for us guys. :thumbsup2

Well that was a fun update!!! Sounds like a great time for Tricia.

You know, I had never even heard of these dolls until this PTR. Wonder if Canada has something similar?

Glad you finally got your tea - I know what that is like ;)

I can't help but love all your stories about Billy. It's soooo Trey. I'm not even joking.

Now, on to more important matters.

What in the world is up with the "All Dolly" post? :headache:

There's nothing in here for us men. What gives?!?! :confused3

And on top of all that you promise to give us yet another Dolly post?!!

I can't take it.

I turned into the parking lot and crept to the end of the first line of parked cars. When I got to the last vehicle, another mommy-van, I was amazed to discover that it was my sister’s!! The rest of our group had just arrived and were gathering up their things to go inside. Eileen was just pulling out her cell phone, I’m sure to call me, when I flashed my lights and eased into the space next to hers.

That's pure luck! But certainly nice.

Good description! :thumbsup2

And by the way, why is a good Golf Club sponsoring a "Dolly" event??

Nice spread of food... ALL CARBS!!

Just pullin' your leg Kathy. That's awesome.

Are you ever going on vacation for crying out loud? How long has this damn trip report been going on?

;)

I am not picking on any one thread. We are trying to moderate and read all Trip reports and pre-trip reports.

I just want to take a time-out on this thread. This pre-trip board is suppose to be about WDW Trip Planning. I am not going to delete or edit this thread, but I am asking for the OP and everyone else that post to this thread to keep it about WDW trip planning.

This quote comes from the guidelines:
6. STAYING ON TOPIC: Each of the DIS boards focuses on a specific topic. Please look the choices over before posting on the wrong board. For instance, you don't want to ask about park hours on the Restaurants Board or tell everyone about your stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort on the Disney Cruise Line Board. It makes it easier for everyone to find what they're looking for when the boards stay on topic.

If you want to have other discussions, please start a thread on that appropriate board, or go to the Community Board where everything and any thing can be discussed.

Thank you.

Ignore Buzz. Those dollies are AWESOME!!!

Your daughter has beautiful hair-I'm so jealous!! Mine actually was ok during WDW, but now that I'm back in "Dry Country" it is majorly frizzed out and won't do a dang thing. Typical...

That is so great that Aunt Rae takes care of Billy that way. We have a lot of family members who shall remain nameless that are understandably intimidated by Trey and just can't connect with him. My grandma (the one that reminds me of AR) took such time with Trey. I was taking a course on communicating with children who were non-verbal (about 5 years ago) and my grandma would pick my brain and ask, "Ok, now what should I do when I talk to Trey? How should I be? What kinds of things should I say?" And she'd do exactly as I suggested. She was the only one of our family who did that. And at 80 some years old, she was the only one who'd get down on the floor at his level and talk to him, play with him and just enter his world.

He adored her and it broke his little heart (and ours too) when she died. For awhile, he was scared to go to people's houses, but she said, "Lin, just bring him over here and get him used to it. I don't care if he screams or whatever. Just bring him." So I did and he got over that fear. Then he was scared of her dog and even as she was dying, she told my mom, "Lin needs to bring Trey over here and get him over his fear of the dog." No wonder he loved her so much. :cloud9: She just wanted him to be all he could. She'd go with us to appointments to watch LeeAndra and was such a huge part of his life. He talks about her a lot still even though it's been well over a year now. She definitely left a void.

I hope you have a fantastic time on your trip! It's gotta be coming close now! I wish we could go again! I"m ready!!

Ignore Buzz. Those dollies are AWESOME!!!

I cannot imaging anyone being able to ignore the GAT Master!! :cool2:

But the Moderators, now that's a different story....

Sorry, Marisa. It's so easy to get carried away! It's only 5 DAYS until our trip, however, so I promise ALL TRIP, ALL THE TIME!!
