Pre-Trip #43:
My First Homemade Disney Shirt!
*Note: Since I am (1) Getting down to the wire and won't have too much time to post, and (2) Trying to stay on-topic per previous request, I most likely will just be making little "Drive By Posts" for the next few days instead of my usual lengthy essays.
I'm in the middle of packing, but Ed called and I was able to get the directions for getting the shirt pic off the camera and onto the computer!

(Am I developing skilz, or what??)
However, a little backstory is certainly in order before I show you the fruit of my labor....
(You know me, I just can't spit anything out, I've got to tell the w-h-o-l-e story!!)
***************************************
A few months ago, I became aquainted with a lovely DISer by the screen name of
Halloweenqueen. (Queenie is in WDW as we speak... naturally she is there for
MNSSHP on Halloween!) Her TR was very enjoyable and for whatever reason, we PM'd back and forth a few times etc., etc.
She is one of those truly creative people who is a whiz at designing those great t-shirts that we all envy over on the DISign board. I told her how much I admired her work and she offered to make a design for me when I told her that I wanted to make shirts for my family (and my sister's), but was bemoaning my utter ineptitude with computer
anything!
Not only did she make a t-shirt design, she very graciously printed it out onto transfer paper and sent it to me, so that all I had to do was iron the designs onto the shirts! I ordered blank t-shirts from
www.jiffyshirts.com and they arrived in the blink of an eye!
(I wanted to get
Lime Green, of course, but I had a tough time getting 50/50 cotton/poly shirts in
Lime Green for everyone from size 2T to size ____ well, just fill-in-the-blank.)

So, I settled on royal blue, which I thought would be a reasonable choice for both the boys and the girls to wear.
Now.... the design! I wanted something to commemorate the joint-family-coincidental-trip thing.... so I figured a multiple character design would fit. The nieces are ga-ga for the princesses, but I had to remember that the Dads and Billy would need to wear the shirt, too, so I resisted to temptation and went instead with the Mickey & Friends.
I think she did a great job with the design!!

Sorry, I can't really show you the entire shirt, because the caption includes both family's last names!!
It reads, "The Gang's All Here! WDW 2007 _____ and ______ Families.
Now, here's the really funny part! (Well, it tickled
my funnybone, anyway!) I called DSis, Marilyn, tonight to see how she was doing with packing, preparations, etc. If you recall, she and her family are
driving, I said
driving to Florida.
Three kids, ages 2, 4, & 6.
She's 4 months pregnant.
Let me just let that sink in for a minute. I'll wait.

So she's telling me how she just can't get things organized... still doing laundry.... still packing.... still has errands.... blah blah blah..... and then she says:
"I really wanted to try to make family shirts, but *sigh* I just ran out of time."
Mwah ha ha ha!!! Little does she know that family shirts are at this very moment UPSing their way to her doorstep!!

Ahh, I love a good surprise!!
Oh, speaking of packing, this
was supposed to be a quickie, remember? Got to go..... busy, busy, busy!!!
