ANOTHER Adventure in Autism (4/15) A Taste of What's to Come...

 to all of you! I know how awful it is waiting for test results, or waiting for tests in the first place! We've never had to have the ones you're going through but we had a scary time awaiting cystic fibrosis results on Minnie's mom. We want to protect our babies from everything!

I'm glad Aunt Rae is good to go.... I think the scooter would be a blast though :teeth: 2 weeks! Man it's going fast! How many more exclamation points can I use in one post?!?!

Glad to hear that Aunt Rae's hospital visit didn't turn into a hospital stay.:) The wonders of good drugs:cloud9:

Regarding Billy, you just keep hangin in there. We're with you

2 more weeks. Wow that snuck up on us all.:scared1: :yay:

Poor Aunt Rae!! I hope she is feeling better for the trip. pixiedust:

Alex used to be ok about having blood drawn :confused3 but didn't like it the last time we went (a few weeks ago - for food allergy testing, nothing serious). He hates that band-aid too!

We are all keeping nothing but positive thoughts for all of you

Hi,Kathy!

Hope Aunt Rae continues to heal rapidly.I have heard how painful gout can be.:sad1:

Will keep praying for Billy....

2 weeks!:woohoo:

Pre-Trip #38:

Disney.'s Greatest, Vol. 1&2: The classics! Some Day My Prince Will Come....Under the Sea....A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes....Beauty and the Beast... Ahhh! They never get old! :goodvibes Ditto on that we have a couple volumns too, the kids love listening to them.

Disney Sing-Along
Wishes!

Love the other ones...wish we had more....you've got great taste in music

These aren't necessarily "songs", they're Disney storybooks & stories on CD... great for longer trips when the kids aren't into watching a DVD. (And fun for us "big kids" to listen to, as well!) We like those too, we have the princess and pixar collection ones

Okay, these are definitely great CDs to listen to as you're preparing for a WDW trip! I purchased these at WDW; I'm not sure if they're available elsewhere:

OOHH! Jealous I be....have to put those on my souvineer wish list for next June...hope I can find some. Be great packing music....

SpectroMagic: My favorite parade! :cloud9: 14 minutes of pure joy! Mine too! I so agree, I've scheduled in 2 hopeful viewings for June....

If I can, I'd like to get the CD soundtracks to Wishes! and Illuminations this year. Hope you find it!

Pre-Trip #39:

Doctors and Hospitals...

Begin packing... Check.
Reserve car service to and from the airports... Check.
Make shopping list for Garden Grocer... Check.
Go to the Emergency Room... Check.

Hope we don't have that on our check list...kidding aside. Super glad it's nothing super serious, but such a pain and unfortunate thing to occur to Aunt Rae right before Disney. You and Ed are such troopers and I'm sure all will work out. Hope the med's will make her comfy and it doesn't get worse. I'll keep her in my thoughts.

We were able to get Billy in to see a pediatric neurologist Thursday for examination after his teachers observed what looked like a petit mal, or absence seizure. I had possibly observed a small one the night before that, as well. The doctor was pleasant and efficient, and ordered the tests I expected she would. She listened to our concerns about getting him evaluated before our Disney trip and promised to see him once more before we left.

Glad you had the appointment, sorry things still seem a bit up in the air. Hope the blood tests come back good and he'll remain seziure free for these next 2 weeks plus the trip.

However, the most important test, the EEG (which measures brainwaves), was not able to be scheduled until our return from WDW. Oh well, what can you do. It is only two weeks away.

Keep us all posted about the test upon your return!

Two weeks?? As in 14 days?

Yikes! That's coming up soon!

YAY!!!!! It's almost time for you to go!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Can't wait to see what else happens before you leave...happy final packing and planning!

WOWZER Kathy...I am finally caught up..been reading the past hour or more.

So besides this trip you got two more planned...We just miss you in Janaury...,we will be there from the 2nd to 5th for Aviva's bday.

The summer trip sounds like fun and different.

Sorry to hear about Billy and the seizures...I am now taking a class on Autism and Interventions.

Happy Belated Birthday...can not wait to read more!

Just remember, better late than never! :thumbsup2 It took me a long time to get here, but at least I beat the trip by a few days. I've only read part but I know it will be as great as your trippies always are. :worship: I will go back now and finish, but just wanted to say hi first. :wave2: Hope everyone stays healthy and in one piece for the trip!

Hi A-Mom! Hi PittyPat!

Wow, this feels like a class reunion! Glad to have two of my old DIS-friends back on board!! :goodvibes

Kathy

Wow....nothing like a few doctor visits before Disney to make the time fly by....well better before than during!
Forget Ed parking the ECV, think you would be awesome!!!

Keep making and checking the lists and get revved up for a great time!

Wow, Spectromagic on cd?? that's so cool!

I downloaded it via a link someone provided on the disboards months ago.. and just love it.

I totally agree with a PP that if you need medication for seizures, it is very manageable. From what our neurologist told us, there are MANY different ones to chose from, and it's just a matter of figuring out which one works for you. We have two kids that have seizures, and it took two tries to totally control my eldest via medication. My youngest son still has occasional seizures on his medication, but nothing that is drastic enough to switch him.

Hey Kathy-have you seen the personalized Mickey scrubs on DisneyShopping? They're pretty cute!
I was thinking of Tricia today-I got my newest AG catalog. :)

Kathy - I hope your Aunt Rae is feeling better before the trip. What bad timing.

I'm also still hoping for the best for Billy. Thinking of you all :grouphug:

All that aside, you must be getting very excited!!!!

How are the kids holding out? Are they driving you insane yet?

Hey Kathy,

I am gonna do the single digit dance early since I don't know if I will get to post tomorrow (it's only 3 hours early really). So, here goes...
