Annual passes increasing 6/2/13

DVC AP Renewal rate is $385 until end of today (6/1). As of 6/2, DVC AP Renewals are $394. Prices do not include 6.5% sales tax.

Renewals are now an even better option since those prices are only going up $9, while a new DVC AP is going up $39.

Glad I waited. Mine expires in December. For another $9.00 bucks waiting to renew the AP, but buying the 8 days no expire from UCT was definitely the right move. I save $40 on the 8 day pass (based on new prices, had we waited), and that's thanks to these boards! :grouphug:Love you guys!

Our last APs expired on Dec. 15th last year. We purchased the discounted PAP just before we left Disney last Dec. and we will activate it for the first time on Dec. 15 this year. That means we won't have to worry about renewals or anything else until Dec. 2014. Since we plan to be at WDW 12/15-24 and will return again in March and Dec. 2014, we will just cross our fingers that they run the PAP DVC discount again.

We have been purchasing APs for about 17 years now. We LOVED when they first came out with the DVC discount, but this PAP discount is the cream of t he crop!:thumbsup2

So if my calculations are correct a DVC AP renewal will be $419.61 including tax?

Well I have been hiding under a rock and missed the price increase window. So I have an annual pass (DVC) which expired in March. I will be at WDW starting June 16.

My questions:
1. Do I still qualify for a renewal or has that boat sailed?
2. IS there ANY advantage to ordering a voucher on-line before I go or should I just show up with my blue DVC card and credit card in my hand?

THANKS

1. The renewal window is 30 days before/after the expiration date of the pass being renewed.
2. Had you purchased the voucher prior to 6/2, yes. But since prices have already gone up, not really.

Whew! I'm so glad I came here for information. Note to self-check the DIS BEFORE checking Facebook. Someone said that DVC is no longer giving any discount for APs, not the PAP special, but that we'd no longer get the $100 savings on regular APs. But I'm so glad that's not true. It's bad enough that DH's AP expires in October, and he didn't get a PAP voucher last year, this would really be a disappointment. So glad it's not true!

Actually, that is partly true. The Regular New AP discount for DVC was increased to $149 last year. People complain that members are losing perks, that one was increased almost 50% and matches the FL Resident rate.

And reduced to $145 with the 6/2/2013 price changes.

So, if I wanted to buy a brand new DVC AP, INCLUDING tax, what would the price be??

Thanks, I need to start breaking this to my husband now!

Is there any DVC discount on DLR annual passes or on Premiers?

This is a difficult decision. I'm a DLR AP and live in CA, but will attend the pin trading event in WDW in September. My current pass is good until October, so theoretically I could just add on a multi-day WDW ticket to cover my time in FL.

But if I bought a Premier today and didn't activate it until September, it's about the same price, plus it gives me time to visit WDW again next year on the same pass. It just means more cash outlay TODAY.

Am I missing any other options?

We bought the Premier Passport at the last second because we would save $500 in the long run. However, I was told that they activate instantly. They will expire on June 2, 2014. I'm really bummed about this since we won't be using them until August.

Anyone know if this is true or not. The cards do say they expire on the back.

Has anyone yet calculated the break-even point for DVC AP (new) versus regular old park hoppers? We have trips planned in August 2013 and May 2014 and prior to the price change I was leaning towards getting APs (and adding a quick trip in January) but I guess I'll need to rethink that plan.

We're new owners so did not have the option to get the AP deal from earlier this year.

When you buy into DVC, how do AP's work? Meaning, how many can I buy with my membership?

My name is the only name on the membership, will i be able to buy one for my girlfriend, or does her name need to be on the contract as well?

How do they limit what you can buy?

You can only buy ap's for people living in your household
