Can you buy an AP at the typical Disney store in the mall? When I called concerning our room rates for this spring the CM told me we could not get the dining package with an AP rate but I did not understand why? Please help!

Some Disney Stores are now selling AP's, some are not. You might want to call if you have one in your area.

You can't get the dining plan with AP's because you aren't booking a package. The DP is only available when booking a Magic Your Way package.

You do have one option. You can go ahead and buy your AP's, book a package with one base MYW ticket per person and get the dining. However, you then cannot apply an AP discount because it's a package.

So, you have to weigh your savings comparing your possible AP room discount vs. dining plan savings.

I dont know when U are going or what your budget is like. I have AP's also. Last Oct I went on the free dining plan so I paid full price for the room, bought the 1 day pass and got the free dining. I figured it out I paid about $25 each day for free dining, because of the added cost of the room/pass.

This year I rented a Studio at SSR (similar to deluxe resort) with a kitchenette. I will purchase the dining when I get there for stay. This is allowed when staying DVC, new perk. I am paying a bit more than I would for a value and less than a moderate, and much much less than a deluxe per night for my room.

Why not go look at the cost for this then add the dining to the cost. Maybe this would work for U. I am paying about the same for the room as I would for deluxe with AP discount I figure maybe even less.
