i need some advice - i have a 4-day park hopper ticket with some unused days on it - i would like to use these unused days as a credit against the purchase of a premium annual pass. however, b/c we won't be using the PAP until feb 04, i only want to purchase a voucher for the PAP, not an actual activated pass (so that my one year time frame doesn't start ticking away). i want to purchase the PAP voucher prior to sept 2003 so as to avoid the fall ticket price increases - any idea how to do this? (i hope this made sense!!) TIA!

Yes, I read that FAQ, but it seemed that it was saying that you could get a credit for unused pass days only if you traded it in for an activated pass, not a voucher.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to get a pass voucher if you want to use your unused days as a credit. The only place you can use an old pass for a credit towards a new pass is at the parks/DD. Those locations only sell the activated actual pass - no vouchers.

You will have to wait to buy your PAP until the first day you plan to use it. Perhaps there won't be an increase in the fall.

From wdwig.com/apass.com below, it sounds as if you can't get a credit unless it's done within the first 7 days, and then you'd get the activated pass, not the voucher. You could call the phone number listed on the web page (407-WDISNEY) to get the correct answer to your questions.

"I have heard that I can upgrade my park hopper pass to an AP or PAP and get full credit for the original purchase price even after I have used a few days admission. Is this true?

Yes it is. If you decide within 7 days of first using a hopper pass that you want to upgrade it to an AP/PAP, you will get full credit for the price of the hopper pass towards the AP/PAP. The AP/PAP will be backdated to the date the hopper pass was first used. But beware: If you get a hopper plus pass and use one of the plus admissions before doing this, you will only be allowed to upgrade to a PAP. "

I have traded in passes that were over a year old on APs. However, you need to do this in person so I can't figure out any way you would be able to get a voucher.

However, with the trade in after the 7 days you only get credit for the remaining unused days where if you trade within 7 days you get credit for the entire pass cost. So if your pass cost $250 and was for 5 days and you have two left you would get credit for $100.

Both Carol's are correct as usual. ;)

CarolMN is correct about the only places where you can apply the old ticket to the new one. CarolA is correct about how the credit is done on partially used tickets after they pass the 7 day from first use window.
