Annual Pass Discounts at Hotels

OK this may seem like a stupid question. I just tried to order an Annual Pass, the only reason I am going with the AP is the discount at the on-site hotels. The only option I have when I try to order an AP online is the will call to pick it up in person it doesn't give an option to ship it to me. Will I need the AP in hand to make discounted reservations at the onsite hotels. Will I get some kind of confirmation number when I order my pass, will that be enough?

Will I need to activate the card before I can get a discount.??
 
You don't need an annual pass to reserve a room with the discount. You can be asked to show one at check-in. (although I never have been.)
 
You can book a room without the AP. You just need to go and get the pass made before you check in since your required to show it upon check in.
 

I've never been requested to show anything, ever. I think that it has been reported here that as long as you got the annual pass during your stay, that was fine. You will have your email confirmation. That should be enough. The hotels understand that people pick up these things at the park.

All you have to do is enter "APH" in the appropriate discount box.

You will receive a welcome letter in the mail from Universal telling you how & where to get your annual pass. We did this last year and was never asked to show proof at checkin. If they did ask for proof I had my letter from Universal.

When you enter your dates and the page of rates comes up, there is a link at the bottom that says "new search". Click on that and you will be taken to a page where you can enter code APH in the Promotion Code box.
 
Can you reserve two rooms with one AP? If so, can I do it online or do I have to call?

I will have too many people for one room. I am paying for both rooms.
 
There is actually a really easy way to book onsite rooms for Annual passholders. You can just call the Annual pass office at 1-866-727-7438 (1-866-PASS-4-FUN) they will answer just about any question you have and will be happy to book the rooms for you.

I am being told there are no APH rooms available for next August at PBH. Is it too early?
