I love to save, so I'm thinking I might use the DVC discount to get an annual pass.

I have about 20 days of visits from old no expiration passes. The last few multi day park hoppers were $45 a day. Who would have thought there would be less expensive ones now?

My question is: how many days would I need to use the annual pass with DVC discount to make it a better deal that a 10 parkhopper with no expiration but no pluses?

This trip I'm going with two non passholders so out of 6 days (2 partial) we'll go to IOA once and the parks twice. I would feel nasty going without them, but would probably squeak in on my first day cause they don't fly in til midnight that night. I'm planning on going in October and thought I might schedule another May trip next year to try to get 3 visits in one year.

With a anual pass you are also entitled to a DDE card and with that 20% off dinnig and drinks you can save alot of money it's worth the investment

We have never purchased annual passes before and hopefully we will be closing on our resale purchase around 5/15. We are going 6/4 for a week and we also have plans to go next May also for a week, so I can see getting the annual passes but......we usually only go the the parks 2 or 3 days because we do other stuff like the resort pool, downtown disney etc, so if I get the 10 day with plus options then we could probably use them over 4 or 5 visits.

But on the other hand, if we have the annual passes we could do both every day.......and maybe try to squeeze a trip in in August (after all the park adminission is "free"....

The annual with the DVC discount would cost us approx $1500 and the 10 day approx $2000.

Of course, Disney will probably exercise their ROFR and then the whole DVC discount for 6/4 would be a moot issue....

Decisions, decisions.....

Hi Lisa...
Maybe you could combine 1 AP with the rest 10 day. Then you could still get the DDE card and any other AP benies.

I just went through ROFR, so I know the feeling....sigh. But even if this contract doesn't work, you can still rent points from other DVC members (I just rented for a May ressie and now that I have my points I'll be renting out some of them..go figure!) and come out ahead of the game.

I just found a site that says advance purchase 10 day adult PH w/no expiration including tax shoule be $347 each. The AP with DVC discount (and you'll have to get in the system before that first visit to quality) would be @ $320. So a savings it seems of less than $3 a day if you go 10 times on the AP.
Decisions, decisions!!!!!

In our situation we only ever get the old 7 day hopper and now the 10 MYW pass as we never make it back early enough to worry about getting an AP. We only go the first 2 weeks of Dec other than this year and we still had some days left from our old passes anyhow so it didn't matter. We weighed the options and the 10 day still worked out better for our family with our travel plans always running the same time.
