A lot of people on this boards say they can do this park in HALF a day. When I attend next week the hours are 9-5 and I'm more nervous about this day than any other that I may not be able to get it all done! I have a pre park opening ADR at tusker house.... Will the rest of the day be enough to ride Everst, Kali, Safari, Dinosaur, Bugs Life AND see Nemo & Lion king?!?!!

Absolutely! Use fast pass for Everest and Kali and do the safari right after your breakfast, you'll be fine !

Here's what we did in half a day in August starting at 8am extra magic hours:

8:00
Fastpass Everest (8:50 return)
Ride Everest (no wait)
Ride Everest again (no wait)
Ride Safari (no wait)
shop
9:00
Ride Everest using Fastpass
Ride Primeval Whirl (no wait)
Ride Dinosaur (no wait)
10:00
Watch Birds Show
11:00
Eat lunch at FlameTree
Shop
12:00
Watch Legend of the Lion King

So you can do a lot, or you can wander the paths and view the animals, or gawk at the tree of life, or turn your kids loose in the Dig Site playground, and spend a whole day. Going to Planetwatch is a timekiller too -takes over an hour with the train each way.

This is perfect advice. You should have these three done by 11:00. Just make sure you get one of these fastpasses before you go on the safari. Than grab your next fastpass, before you use your first fastpass. Continue this throughout your day and with eating lunch in the park, you should be done between 2-3 pm.

You'll be done, but miss out on some of the Animals that are there. I would recommend making the time to do the two trails, one in Africa, one in Asia, if you like the animals, otherwise it's just another theme park, and yes, you can be done in a half day.

I can't go to AK and NOT watch the Nemo show. I think you could fit it all in, depending on what your priorities are. Mine are Kali River Rapids and the Safari. We spent a whole day at AK and got to see and do everything I wanted, including meeting characters (at Camp Minnie Mickey, Dinoland, and the new Mickey and Minnie area), Flame Tree for lunch, Festival of the Lion King, Nemo, Parade, and riding a few other rides over at Dinoworld. But we opened and closed the park that day.

You'll be fine. Crowds will be quite low next week. I would suggest doing the safari first and then heading down to Everest. It'll save you a ton of walking. I'd bet good money that Everest will have a 10 minute wait at the most by the time you're done the safari. Worst case scenario is that you can grab a FP for Everest after the safari and then back track to Kali while you're waiting for your FP return time.

Just my $0.02

You are only listing rides that you want to do so you should be OK. If you add in all the trails, Flights of Wonder, Rafiki's Planet Watch, the rest of Dinoland, and meeting characters, you would be in trouble.

I've only spent half a day there, but we didn't walk the trails or anything.

Animal Kingdom actually looks like a two-day park to me if you really did everything in depth, and saw the shows, walked the trails, maybe ate table service for lunch or breakfast, etc.

As long as you schedule your shows correctly, you will be fine! Make Nemo and FOTLK a priority in terms of time. Make sure you are to both of those shows EARLY if you don't have FP+. Hit Everest first thing in the morning, then Safari - If you want to see the most animals, the best time of day to go is as early as possible. Everything else will fall into place perfectly. HAVE FUN!!!!

If you want to ride everest several times, go there first thing in the am; if you are good with only a couple of rides, I'd go to KS first, as BY FAR more people are heading there first thing. I've tried the "dash to EE to get FPs and meet my party at the entrance to KS, but by the time I get there, The line is up to 20 minutes or so.

However, that may not be the case any longer as I understand they are letting people into AK early and not holding at the TOL, so if you are close to the front of the turnstyles/MB entrances, the slow trickle of people coming through them at opening may give you the extra time to FP EE and meet your party at KS.

This time of year, though, is probably the least crowded you will see, so none of the above probably even matters -- just make sure you get your showtimes right, so you're not stuck at the end of the day with two shows to see and one (same) showtime remaining each.

I would definitely add Flights of Wonder to your show itinerary.

Oh definitely!!

Good choice on the Tusker ADR too, love that place!! Right after breakfast, I'd do this:
-FP safari
-Ride EE
-Ride Dinosaur
-Use safari FP
-Head to either Nemo or FOLK
-Walk the "long way" past Kali and ride that in between shows, or at the end of the day to avoid being soaked in the parks!
