Assuming they don't start busses from the parks to Disney Springs by January (I know they used to do it after a certain time, but only parks to DS and not the other way around), if I'm going to Disney Springs from a day at Animal Kingdom, would my best bet be to take the Saratoga Springs bus and walk from there? (I know the simplest would likely be a Lyft, but if I don't want to deal with that...)

Sounds like that would work. With the Gov talking about allowing more guests, maybe the busing will change a bit by your January trip.

You could take a bus from Animal Kingdom park to Animal Kingdom Lodge and then pick up a bus to Disney Springs. I can’t remember if Disney Springs bus stops at Jambo House or Kidani Village first. (The two stops at Animal Kingdom Lodge.)

Would that be faster? I live in NYC, so walking doesn't bother me because I do it all the time with no car.

i don’t know. I’ve never been to Saratoga Springs.

The buses to Disney Springs always make me motion sick, so I would Uber/Lyft. But you said you didn’t want to deal with that (which surprised me because you’re from NYC so I would think you would be comfortable with Uber/Lyft).

I prefer walking or using busses (or a subway in NYC) than wasting money on a ride in a car. I use them when I have to - like when I've bought a lot of groceries or something really heavy that I don't want to deal with walking or on the subway. I just prefer to spend my vacation money on actual stuff like food or a special souvenir rather than paying a car to take me somewhere busses or my own two feet can.

Makes sense. I pay extra to avoid motionsickness. I’m not big on food so I save there.

Yeah 4th SSR stop - Congress Park - to DS is pretty easy walk to the Marketplace area. If you are headed more to Westside (Cirque area)- then 5th -The Springs would work. From The Springs you would go through/around the main building out towards the golf course and up along the west shoreline of the DS/SSR lake (what’s that called?😜). Again not a bad walk at all for walkers. If you are an avid walker, you can get off at the first SSR stop -Grandstand- walk toward the main SSR building and along the golf course route I described. I could walk from there to mid DS (Hot air balloon) in about 20 mins I think.
