We are three adults traveling to Disney. Based on current crowd levels and covid protocols, how many hours do you recommend spending in Animal Kingdom? Kali River Rapids will be closed when we’re there, so that will be one less ride. If we arrive at 9:00 (which is when the park opens), will we need the whole day?

Unfortunately the park is only open from 9-5, unless it changes in the next 3 weeks. We will be there March 13-20.

We did AK the other day- plan to be at the park an hour before scheduled opening (opened at 8) We arrived around 7:15- we went right to FOP- was about 20 minutes. FOP, Safari, EE (twice) and walk through Gorilla falls. Done by 11. We did skip Dinosaur, Navi and It's a Bugs Life.

That's a hard park to say. Do you just want to ride the rides? Do you walk thru the animal areas or stop & linger? What's your touring style?

I was there a few weeks ago. Walking in at 7:25 for a 8am open. Casually strolling pace. Rode the rides. Stopped at the animals to watch & listened to the CMs talk about them. The baby gorilla was so cute! Sat down for an early relaxed lunch at Satu'li Canteen. Stayed til 1pm cause then we park hopped over to MK. But totally could have ridden the Safari again, watched more animals & taken the train out to that area so definitely would have needed more time.

Everyone is different, and I'm sure that we could spend several days at AK, but we are typically done by dinner time. I don't know if the shows are running now, but we usually did FotLK, UP and Finding Nemo, which is something like 2-2.5 hours (?) including the wait times. There are also no character meals, so skipping Tusker House, which is a must-do for us under normal conditions, would save some time as well. If it were us, we could fit in everything we'd want to do between 9 and 5.

I would expect that to change to 8-5. We are going 2/27-3/3 and the hours changed from 9-5 to 8-5 this past weekend.

AK is best when you take your time. I would plan on getting there an hour before open if you want shorter lines. This should be a very busy week so I’d go early and do the big rides - if you have no interest in watching the animals and exploring the trails it can be a short day. If you like watching and exploring this is a fun all day park

Depends what you want to do, really. If you skip the animal trails, you could probably be done mid-afternoon depending on how long the waits are. I'm planning on a half day there myself but it's just me and I have a short list of things I want to do.

I think even with some of the things closed, AK can be a full day park if you plan to do everything.
