Hi Guys -

I've been following this thread for a while and was wondering if you can answer a question or two for me?

1) How do you catch a flea? Each time I try, my neighbor just talks to me. What's the trick?

2) Is there any trick to getting a gold axe from the fountain Goddess? I've tried for about three weeks straight now - and no luck. She either gives me my original axe back, or takes it away. Any hints/tricks would be appreciated.

Good luck on getting a silver or gold ax. I have both, but found no trick, just patience! I have no idea what I did different to get them, so I think it's just luck. Someone else may have better advice though...

To catch a flea, I found it helpful to shake the Wii remote at them. Get your net out, stand close to the animal with the flea and shake your remote at them. Don't push the "A" button, you can do it that way, but it was much harder for me to catch one that way.

Yep, don't press A to catch a flea. I learned that after a while Just swing your remote and catch them that way
Oh you mean, Serena, the Fountain B*%#*?
She is hard to please!!!!!!!!! I think it is luck. I don't try much with her anymore. I have got 2 silver axes out of her. I can't even remember exactly how, but I know I never lie to her and say I threw in a gold axe etc. Good luck!

I have yet to get a silver axe from that fox. I've lied, told the truth, told her she looks different, told her she looks the same, and not once did I get a silver axe. I do get my axe back more than half the times, but nothing more.

Don't worry about the path! Such an easy fix No worries. I apologize for not being able to hear very well. Between my two dogs deciding to have a wrestling match every time Wii speak is on, and then there was some echoing going on in the speaker...

Thanks for the advice yesterday - I was able to catch a flea last night. It was cute - I wasn't expecting my neighbor to acknowledge that she had fleas - it was a fun surprise

Now, if only I could get the axe. Serena confiscated my last "spare" axe and Nook hasn't had one for sale for the past day or so.

I caught a "lantern" bug (not sure if that is the correct name) - I thought for sure (based on its size) that it was going to be a bat!!

Quick question - if it rains, does that count for watering my flowers that day or do I still have to water?

Yeah, I think it's cute when they have fleas.... I DO NOT think it's cute when a mosquito bites me while I'm trying to catch a very large fish in the river and it gets scared away though. And I really do not like Serena... I have been trying for like 2 weeks now to get a golden axe! I did get a siver axe though, so I guess I should be happy that she decided to grace me with that at least.

Question: Has anyone caught a beetle? Our guidebook says they are "on trees" so I'm guessing they aren't "in" the tree and you don't have to shake trees to find them??? Do they just sit on the tree bark or leaves & are they easy to spot?

Question: Has anyone caught a beetle? Our guidebook says they are "on trees" so I'm guessing they aren't "in" the tree and you don't have to shake trees to find them??? Do they just sit on the tree bark or leaves & are they easy to spot?

Yay! A couple of mine bow too, it is so cute. I wave at them all the time now!

Which beetle are you talking about? I caught a rainbow stag last night and gave it to the Museum. It was sitting on a tree trunk and I only spotted it after my husband pointed it out. I'm really bad at catching bugs... I just don't notice them until after I scare them away!

Very easy to spot. You will see various insects on the tree trunks. Just walk up slowly with your net, then get 'em!

Slowly being the key. There are many types of beetles, some exclusively on the palm trees. Most are worth big bucks. They come out later in the night.

I caught my first arapaima (sp?) tonight, then caught a second soon after. 10k for one fish!!!

We are loving June!! Love the new bugs and the new fish! The fireflies are my favorite. I did not even want to catch one after we donated our first one because they look so neat flying all around! We have had some trouble with whatever this big thing that flies out of the trees. You just walk by the tree and it flies out and you have no time to catch it! Then of course there is the truantula!!
