How many neighbors live in your town? It seems like we do not have nearly as many as my sons friends do. They do have 3 players in the town so I did not know if that had anything to do it with it whereas its just myself and DS. We would love some more neighbors!!

How does everyone get the hybrid color flowers. I plant mine close together, water it every day with my silver watering can and nothing. I want pink and orange flowers.

just curious for those who welcomes "out of towners" to your town and say you can fish all you want and take all the fruits all you want. do they ever take ALL the fruits and leave you with nothing? i mean they keep filling up their pockets and go back to their town to sell the fruits and keeps coming back to your town to pick more fruits and just keep going back and forth to get all the fruits until there's no more fruits left to pick? did that ever happen to you? if so, did you get upset? i think it takes about 3 or 4 days for the fruits to grow back.

I think each town gets 10 animals and you can have up to 4 players.

When I started playing this morning I noticed that there was just a little less snow on my trees. Did anyone else notice that today? I was wondering if that was a sign of Spring!? Since I got this for Christmas, I have only seen the trees with snow, I'm excited to get some new scenery!

I was notified today that I donated enough yesterday for a Windmill or Lighthouse. It said that I could vote for which one I want, but I might get the other. I am really hoping for a lighthouse, my DD loves lighthouses. We leave for Disney this Saturday, I hope it's built before we leave! (Is it sad that I thought about bringing the Wii to WDW so I could play? )

I have gotten 3 hybrids so far, I just wish I knew what I did to get them! I hope someone can tell us! I just lucked into it I guess... I would like more!

I planted roses together and pansies together (and so on)... Which I have done all around my town, but only 3 have made hybrids, so I don't know what the difference is.

We finally got our fountain. I threw in the axe and this really cute animal appeared t the top of the fountain. She asked me some questions and she got ticked off and kept my axe. Everyday one of us tries to get the golden axe. None of us has succeeded. She is not the nicest Animal on the block, but I guess if people threw axes at me, I'd be ticked off too. LOL

She is very moody, LOL! I do have the silver axe from her. It took days of throwing them in and I don't even remember what exactly she said the day I got it.

Hmmmm let me think...right now I have Midge, Rasher, Egbert, Victoria, Peanut, Drift,....Lily just moved......on and I have Fresia..geez I am spelling that wrong. I might be missing someone. My ds says the animals like to stay when the town in "perfect". Mine is not perfect according to town hall standards..they say I have too many trees in some areas, and they give me a D+ maybe a C..LOL

If memory serves me correctly, it takes a week for the the new things like bridges, windmills, etc. I am on March 6th right now and there is NO snow left on the trees. Nice and green Have fun in WDW!!!!!!!!!!

I've gotten pink and purple so far but there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. Just keep planting and moving colors of the same flower around and eventually (with watering) you'll get hybrids, too.

Here is what I found on a "walkthrough guide" in regards to hybrid flowers.

First, you must have two flowers of the same variety in order to produce a hybrid. In other words, you must breed a rose with another rose or a cosmos with a second cosmos to produce a new variety of rose or cosmos.

Second, you need to plant the two flowers next to one another to spawn a third. 'Next' to one another can be adjacent as well as to the right, left, above or below the other flower.

Third, you need to clear a 3 x 3 square of land in order to give the two flowers the optimum chance of spawning a third. When you have cleared a 3 x 3 plot, plant the two flowers next to one another in any configuration you like, but leave the rest of the plot empty.

Now wait for a result. Flowers spawn at 6.00 a.m. in the morning. From two to five new flowers will appear each morning in your village. Creating a plot where the flowers can appear is a way to maximize success in hybridization. Even if you do not make the effort, however, you may notice hybrids appearing in the gardens of your neighbours. Wow! It's all gone by March 6th!!? That's pretty early! I am looking forward to seeing all the green trees. I hope the pears still look good, with them being green on green and all. I was wondering if I wanted to plant more apples and cherries so it would be red on green. (yeah.. I think about it too much! ) I really wish we could have grass though. I trampled all over my town so much I lost my snow really fast. Now I'll miss out on seeing grass.. That has been my biggest disappointment with the game.

I'll bet my whole town looks different when we get back from WDW! Thanks for the good wishes too, we are looking forward to it!

That's cool. I think I would be upset if they took ALL the fruits and leaving us with none. I like my town with some trees with fruits on them. It just makes the town prettier.

Our Nookingtons opened today. My poor son will not get to play until after 8 tonight!!

We are still working toward getting our 3rd bridge. And we have not paid anything toward our 2nd expansions so we don't have an upstairs or basement yet.

How is everyone been making so much money?? Help!! Any tips would be great!!!

I have been planting apples everyday (our native fruit is cherry) and the furnitures that I receive in the mail from the animals that I already have or I don't want/need, I sell them. I have a golden shovel and hit one of the rocks and gives me bells (today I got 2,100 bells). I would also like to know how others make money.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are. Trying to make money for our fourth bridge, and I haven't paid off my second expansion of the house.

The butterflies are out, and I also caught a few lady bugs. I am not great with the net. I caught a different type of fish yesterday, now I cannot remember the name.

I worked my butt off selling fruit to pay everything off. I got rid of almost all of our native fruit trees (peaches), since they pay less than the new fruit trees I planted. Other good money making things are selling bones to Tom Nook that Blathers already has in the museum. Sometimes those are worth a good chunk!!! Make sure you find your money rock each day as well

Yep, I did that too! I dug up all my native trees (oranges) and planted other fruit trees in their place. (Well, I did leave 3 orange trees just so I can have them again if I ever wanted to. )

Other ways to make bells are to shake the trees every day. They can have a good amount of bells fall out, and furniture too. And, you can write your animal friends letters with a gift included. They will send you a letter back with a gift (I usually send stationary, native fruit or a shirt I've gotten that I don't want). I write all my animals every day. That really adds up! And there is always fishing and shell collecting.

The non-native tree planting sure boosts your bell count once they start producing though!

It is now snowing in my town. Which is funny because, as I said earlier, my snow is disappearing!
I'm looking forward to Spring!!

Thanks for the suggestions! We have been working on trying to plant a bunch of fruit trees. The other day we had about 11 trees that died. We were not sure if it was because we used time travel fruit to plant or what. We were sad. We were trying to line our paths with all trees in the town.

We will start writing more letters to our neighbors. My DS is great about hitting the rocks.

Now I don't feel so bad about not paying off our house yet!! We decided that we wanted to get the bridges, fountain and we want the lighthouse so we can make it like Old Key West!!
