Man, I was getting worried that no one else was on to start a new thread!

John - you got a post on our last thread just in time! The pictures turned out great!

Steph - maybe we will be going down to WDW at the same time?!

E - thanks for the thumbs up about the Swan. I'm sure we can't go wrong w/ either one, but it is nice to get an opinion. I'm jealous about you seeing LOTR again! This used to be a lot easier w/o kids to worry about.

Gail - thanks for starting the new thread!

Marsha - it just HAS to get better for you!

It is soooooooo cold outside - how many more days until spring?:(

Didn't I see that face on a poster in the postoffice....or maybe it was a billboard on the Garden State Parkway!!!

Love the new digs!
Thanks for letting me know, Gail or should I say Dory?

You guys will NOT believe what I have been doing! (I don't even believe it)

We usually take a summer beach vacation with my inlaws and my DH's whole extended family to Topsail, NC. But all of his cousins just backed out because they have a very expensive family wedding this year with all of them in it.

SO, my inlaws actually said they might want to go to Disney instead. ( I can't believe it)

I have been looking at vacation homes on line and they are less expensive and you get more for your money than one week at beach.
But then, DH comes in and says: (as I try not to fall over)
I think I would rather stay on site and have the convenience of Disney transportation! He really did swear that he was not going back for 5 years! So, now we have to figure out if they REALLY want to go there and when.
Anyone know how bad it is in early June? as far as heat and crowds go? Or would it be less crowded in early August?
I am excited! Just had to share with people who would UNDERSTAND! cause my friends think I am NUTS.

have a good night.
I probably won't sleep because I will lay awake and obsess.
Does anyone else do this???? lol

BTW. great pictures. Looks like bowling was alot of fun.

Lou, I think your tag should say the "picture king" because you always find the right picture for every occasion!

Have a good night.
Donna

Lorraine, I am sure you can't go wrong with either! The Dolphin does have the 24 hour food court which is nice, but I have gone there once each trip and the walk from the Swan isn't too bad. I do prefer the Swan a tad bit based on size... much smaller. And I also prefer the 2 queen beds instead of double. Otherwise it is a draw in my eyes.

Donna you sneated in on me there!!!! Personally 1st week of June would be much less crowded and most likely less hot than August. I have done both June and August and while I prefer not going in the summer, I would pick June over August in a heart beat :)

Well hello! I found us without difficulty.

Donna, sounds like a good alternative to the beach. We went in early August once. It was hot but that and the crowds weren't as bad as I expected.

Now I need to go find the old thread to see the pictures.

**Rats! Didn't even make page one.

That's great news Donna!

We'll be at the World this July and staying at the Dolphin. I was having trouble choosing between Swan and Dolphin but chose the D because of the proximity to the pool and Tubbi's. I'm also hoping we have a better chance for a room with a balcony since the resort is bigger. (I'm also trying to build up SPG points before we go in hopes that will help too) I read that their double beds are only slightly smaller than the queen at the Swan...and not a true double bed. Time will tell.

I've resigned myself to the heat.....and we have visited in the summer before. All the attractions are air-conditioned and I've always managed it without too much trouble. If you're looking for a summer visit that's less crowded then August would be your better bet. Many schools in the South start back in August and that may help with crowds.

WOW! Steph got in after the old thread was closed. Good for you Steph.

Well, this is a great place, and it looks like we will all be home soon.

I believe I can comment on time in WDW, I have been there in August about 6 times and in June about 6 times, and it really didn't seem any more or less crowded at either time. I was there last August for 11 nights (AKL, what a treat) and we stood in long lines and we walked on to other stuff. Same thing in June. August is a bit hotter and more humid, so I recommend a sprayer fan or 2.

I will comment on Swalphin, also. Although there are plenty of people that love them, I find them to be entirely too corporate. I ate at tubbies one morning at Discon II (that was where I met Bernie for the first time, anyone remember him???), and it was OK. I just like being totally immersed in WDW theming. But I hear the beds are heavenly at the Swan. I suppose if I could ever convince Mr Anxiety to go, we could end up there, as he prefers no Disney theming if possible, and at leat we would be on property.

Melissa, I love Dixie Landings (POR), that was the first place I stayed on property. Solo trip, it was great. I have repeated there. I toured Coronado Springs, it is a massive convention property, and really beautiful. Although it is big, it seems quite peaceful. I don't think you can go wrong no matter where you stay. If I was going to go for 2 weeks, I would opt to stay at Saratoga Springs (DVC) even if I had to get the room from CRO, although renting points could be cheaper. That is my very favorite area of all the resorts, just perfect for relaxing after being in the parks all day.

Loved the bowling pictures! Isn't it nice to be able to meet our friends in person? Never fear, there is a NE spring meet plan forming in my brain. That will include Steph, Gail, and I hope some Mass Disers, oh and maybe some from NS, too! Better to think about that than the dead car and the impending ice storm (which I couldn't care less about, I don't have to go out in it!)

Someone asked on the other thread about the TH. THey are in preconstruction pricing, I want to get in on that and then it can be built while we are still renting here. Not that I like to move, but I am really looking forward to living in a brand new, never been used as a model for 10 years (been there) house. All the new smells, all the new headaches!

Well, off to read and then to bed, see you all tomorrow.
