The web has been very slow for me this afternoon.....and not only on the DIS. I noticed our cable internet service is now marketing an even faster service...for more money of course. You don't suppose they're slowing down the existing one that schlubs like me have to make us want the newer one.
I'm Alan's schlubby!!!

I'm still waiting for LK to pick me up.....is anybody else???

I got to talk to DBF!!(ok,it was via IM and he had to go to work but he's coming iin in 3 days!)

Gail, I never saw the limo go by here either.

CS, glad you get to see your BF soon. How far from you does he live and do you get to see him very often?

Steph, stay warm.

If you want to see some real cold, check this out. Mount Washington

Hi all... sorry I wasn't around to help people reach their posts count goals... I was just waiting outside *all night long* and no limo showed...

;)

Seriously our group at work went bowling after lunch. I was emotionally drained so I took a nap and then a co-worker of Luis wanted to see ROTK so I went.

Still... would have liked to ridden in a limo :p

LK never picked me up either:rolleyes::teeth:

Steph~I hope that your problem will be solved soon!

I got the greatest gift for my nephew & his new wife today......there is gonna be a party for them next Sunday, a 'post wedding party'. We'll be giving them a monetary gift but I also wanted to get them something as kind of a keepsake. I tossed around the idea of an 'Our 1st Christmas Together' ornament dated 2003 since he was home to surprise her for Christmas.
But then today I ran across a beautiful Christms plate~the picture is of a house with someone standing on the porch~it's dated 2003 & the name of the plate is "I'll be Home For Christmas" How perfect is that??!!??!!:sunny:

But instead you chose to ride the Bloom of your passion to the cinema!

I did not wait on the limo so am probably the only one whose house she stopped at. I hope Laura had a great time anyway.

Gail, of course you are my Schlubby! :teeth:

Isn't it nice to feel loved?

Lars, that sounds like an absolutely perfect present!!!!! I am sure they will love it :)

Yeah, well, I take what I can get ;)

I didn't wait by the door. Figured there was no use. No one would want to pick me up, coughing and snorting. :teeth: Hope they had fun!

Lars, the gift sounds perfect!

Have to get up early tomorrow and drive David to Stillwater. That's about 1 1/2 hours away. He's not quite confident enough to go that far alone yet. He has a meeting from about 10:00 to about 5:00. Not really sure what I'll do. I may shop a little. They have antique shops. I have a DIS friend up there, but hate to give her my germs so I'm not calling her. Probably will have lunch at Eskimo Joes and then maybe spend some time reading in their library until it's time to pick him up.

So behave while I'm away and I'll check in tomorrow night. Have a great Saturday!

Sure is Alan! :grouphug:

It's 1 below zero this morning. Hoping Steph has heat and Marsha has unfrozen pipes up there in the Hinterlands of NH!!

Minus 7 right now. It is a tad chilly! No frozen pipes that I am aware of, but if it happens, I am blaming the landlord!

Thank you Gail and Alan for straightening me out on the Schlubby thing. As Alan's reply was right after SSB, I put those 2 together! :scared1:

Off to Kohls to return Pete's pants that don't fit, then we may go up to the new house so he can see it. Hopefully the sales guy will be there so we can go into the model.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

Where the heck were all of you? We drove past and beeped the horn but none of you came outside. I even got OUT of the limo at Alan's house and knocked on the door....;)

A mini-trip report!

We had a fantastic time! The limo arrived at 4:30. The driver, Jeff, was very nice. He took pictures for us with the digital camera and the regular camera. The limo was a lot larger than I expected. It had a row of seats behind the driver, another row along the side, and another row against the back. The side across from the seats had a bar that was stocked with pop, rum, whiskey, and vodka. Too bad we aren't drinkers! There were also 2 TV's that were on either end of the bar.

On the ceiling, there was a large, oblong black insert that had mini lights inside that kept changing colors. It was if you were looking up at the sky and watching the colored stars twinkle.

Jeff was kind enough to drive us past Logan's friend's house in our neighborhood. Logan called them on the cell phone and told them to look out their window. His friend's family came out and checked everything out for a little while, then it was off to dinner.

Dinner was at The Pittsburgh Steak Company. I have never eaten there before, but it was delicious! We had a $75 gift certificate to use, so we ordered appetizers, too. We ordered a provolone cheese wheel and a combo platter with potato skins, stuffed banana peppers, and steak and chicken chunks.

Leah got spaghetti and meatballs and a salad. Logan and I both ordered a ribeye steak and salad, and Lenny got a full rack of BBQ ribs with soup. The steak was so tender it almost melted in your mouth. I'm going to have a hard time going back to the cheaper stuff now! We debated about dessert, but we were so stuffed so we decided to pass.

We were done with dinner around 6:45, so Jeff drove us up to Mt. Washington, which overlooks the city. It is beautiful up there, especially at night. We went on the overlook and he took some pictures of us. He then drove us down past the Steeler and Pirates stadiums and took us downtown to the Benedum Center.

The Lion King was terrific! The costumes are so incredibly awesome. We had excellent seats on the floor of the theater where all of the animals come down the aisles at the beginning. Leah sat with me for the first half and then Logan sat with me for the second half. Our groups of seats were a section apart which wasn't too bad. It was a long show - 3 hours - and all of us were getting tired at the end. It was nice to walk out of the theater and get right into a warm car!

Sorry for the long post! It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

LK, how exciting. Don't be sorry for the long post. I, for one, wanted to hear all about it. And great pictures too.

I have been following the news about the Patriots game. I hope no one dies from exposure there. It would be nuts to sit out in that.

Steph, is your furnace fixed.

 to everyone else.

Glad to hear it all went well.........and you had such a good time.
Soooooooo....the important question is.....should I buy LK tix for Boston this summer??????~!
