Angels & their wonderful men...a new thread for a new year!!!

Oh, where are you from then? :p

We all went to our friends house after all and got to speak to the former guide dog director.

Mrs. AA got all the information on his new job and the school he works for and plans to go there for her next dog, which hopefully will be a few years away.

His school does lab/poodle crosses which would be better for her asthma.

Winston had a good night. The vet is going to try giving him some food today and I will pick him up after work.

Back to it.....

Back from the vets, what a saga... first Mips didn't want to go in the basket, but we got in *some how*... then when we got there and were waiting she wouldn't stop howling... then when we got in the room and let her out she dashed off and hid behind a floor stand... after we pulled *that* away from the wall and got her out she went crazy as the stitches came out and *then* after all that and the trauma was over she wouldn't go back in the basket LOL! She stayed with me in the back of the car instead.... *sigh*, cats eh?!

Anyways, I will say this to Mr AA.... I don't deny where I come from but I am *not* cheeky! so ner
:-P :-P!!!

Cya,
Gaspode

I'm so irritated with David's school right now! If you have no unexcused absences, you can opt out of one of your finals. He talked to his science teacher and decided to miss his upcoming science final. He has a B in that class and would have to make 118% on the final to bring it up to an A. The teacher is really tough, so David feels like the chance is there that he could mess up and end up with a C. I agreed that he was making a good choice.

Today he got word that his request to opt out of the final was turned down. He went to the office and they checked his record. He has 2 unexcused absences from November, one in swimming and one in drama and I was never called about either of them! They have an automated system that calls you to let you know when your kid misses a class. If they don't call me, I can't tell him and have him straighten out the mistake.

And you have to know my kid. He really walks the straight and narrow. No way would he ever skip a class, especially not drama or swimming. He loves them.

Last I heard he was going to talk to the Vice Principal to try to work it out. He can't talk to the swimming coach until swimming this afternoon and that may be too late to get this straightened out.

So here I sit wondering what is happening. I have a notion to go over there and cough on all of them, but I'd like to give him a chance to work it out. I'm just mad. What would you do?

I had a brainstorm. We have a friend through Scouts that is an attendance lady at the high school. I sent her an email. Maybe she can get me word as to what happened. If I wait until he gets home from swimming to hear from him, the office will be closed. I'll be really steamed if they still said no and didn't call me.

Afternoon Chatty Angels and TWM!

MP - I hope you get David's situation all staightened out - I wouldn't want to take a Science final either!

Alan - glad Winston is feeling better.

Gaspode - what an ordeal for Mips! i hate going to the doctor's too!

Carol and Donna - i wish i could venture out into something too. I always wanted to open a dog sitting place where people could drop off their dogs when they go to work. I know they are out there, but just thought it would be fun. My GF goes to peoples home to take care of their pets, and does it all by herself. If she weren't in New Jersey, I'd love to help herl

E - at least you can rest easy this weekend, but that does really suck that people came in just to get let go.

Did some shopping today and was in Kohl's when I ran into my niece who works there. She said her and her mom, her brother, and grandma (my mom) were going to lunch at Houlihan's and did I and my DD want to join them - I'm glad we were invited beforehand seeing how I saw my mom yesterday and she didn't mention it............hmmmmmmm. Well we went and crashed their little party.:teeth: I had broccoli and chicken quiche and potato soup. Yum! That will teach them not to invite us again!!!

Bethany, what day do you arrive in Orlando? Bet I'll be gone before you get there. :( Actually, I'm not staying on-site since we are cruising, so I guess we wouldn't make contact anyway.

We check in March 19

We are back in Orlando on the 20th, but staying off-site near the airport. We are staying where they have a shuttle to some area shopping. I wanted to do the Disney outlet since we aren't going to the parks this trip. So we will be in the area at the same time, but you'll be at WDW and I won't. :(

Crisis is straightened out. My friend was too busy to help, but told me the name of the person to contact. When I did, she told me that David had already fixed it.

I still don't have the answer to my question about why I wasn't called when he "missed" classes. But at least he gets to skip one final. I'm sure he's a happy camper.

Thanks for letting me complain. You guys are the best. :p

Sam has already informed us that we are going to MK on the first full day (20th) and the Studios on the 2nd day (21st).
Although, I do want to hit the outlets at some point. Think I can talk him out of MGM on Sunday and head to the mall instead?
I'll PM you a cell number and our last name just in case we can figure something out.

Sounds good, Bethany. I'll give you our last name and cell as well. We aren't renting a car, so our mobility is limited.

I don't know what time we have to be at the airport on Sunday to return home. Somehow that information is never a highlight of my trip. We may do all our shopping on Saturday, since we get off the ship right after breakfast and are probably heading home as early as possible on Sunday.

Maybe if nothing else we could just talk on the phone, but a mini meet would be fun.

MP, glad David got everything all straightened out.

Gaspode and AA, I hope your pets are feeling better soon!

We are all ready to go on our big adventure tonight! The limo should be here in about 15 minutes. I hope it's a limo and not just a Town Car (listen to me - HA!) only because the kids have this vision in their heads of a big stretch limo. Whatever it is, it will still be fun! I'll try to get a pic or two and post them tomorrow. I skipped lunch so I will be really hungry for dinner.

We'll be by to pick up each and every one of you. Just wait by your front door - don't want us to pass you by! ;)

Phew.... almost time to get out from the Lemonade Stand after long week.... looks to beautiful outside!! Was at Illuminations last night, and surprised still a fair sized crowd. Had to have a couple o' brewskis at R&C! :)

Hope all have a great weekend!

Have fun LK4. Can't wait to hear all about it.

SSB, no fair rubbing it in about your weather.

Let's go with those post-count goals people!!! ::yes::

The web has been very slow for me this afternoon.....and not only on the DIS. I noticed our cable internet service is now marketing an even faster service...for more money of course. You don't suppose they're slowing down the existing one that schlubs like me have to make us want the newer one.

I'm afraid to go back any pages to catch up so hi everyone!!! :wave2: It's 10 wonderful degrees right now and I'm safe at home for the evening.

Sounds Yummy SSB!!
Not too much longer (less than 2 months) and we'll be doing the same thing! R & C is DH's favorite place:teeth:

Well the third oil man came today, and we still haven't gotten the furnace fixed..but at least we do have heat for the weekend.

Is 5:45 too early to go to bed??

It's close to quitting time. I hope schlubby and the rest of you Angels have a great weekend! :p

Only if there is laundry involved!

Alan, I hope that this new term of endearment for SSB isn't a sign of anything odd.......

Seriously, I hope the heat hold out for the weekend, it is some kind of cold!
