Good morning y'all.
First of all Donna, I've got to tell you....you've got a great rack!
Gail, if I had pulled up that pic I wouldn't have had to drive to Atlanta.
My agent told me the audition was 10-12, which means that since I am in Central time it would be 9-11 for me. He neglected to tell me if it was walk in at any time during that window or if we all needed to be there at 10.
So, knowing I am supposed to be in place 15 minutes before call time, I left home at 5:30 AM to drive to Atlanta.
I made good time and started worrying about how early I was going to be until I hit downtown. That slowed me down enough to make me grateful for leaving early.
Once the traffic cleared I started making good time and saw exit 89 so I knew I was close. Then I saw exit 91.
Say, wasn't I supposed to take exit 86????
The exit and turn to I-85 South was easy enough, but I wound up driving through several city blocks to get back on course.
By the time I arrived I was 30 minutes early. I looked at the sheet from my agent and it said DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE YOUR CALL TIME, so I drove to a local business and waited in the parking lot for 20 minutes.
I drove back to the casting agency and went in 5 minutes early. I saw where two others had been in and we already gone. A young lady came out, took one look at me and said, "Is that real?"
Is that a compliment? If not, should I ask for a refund? Is everything in place?????
I thought she was referring to the lab coat I was wearing....she meant the beard.
I gave her a comp card which I look nothing like, and a copy of my headshot. I did not realize the night before that I had no photo paper in the house! (It's at my office) I had to use regular paper which looks very unprofessional, but at least they had the comp card.
I went into the room where she took a close up photo, then a full body shot and then I was free to go.
Yup...maybe 5 minutes total.
And then I drove 3 hours home.
How was y'all's day?
