Gack!! I go out to lunch (okay to do some shopping really... realized I was in need/want of another pair of shoes for work) and I come back to everything on my computer, save IE, closed down. I just got a new computer about 5 months ago... and it is still slower than my old computer at home that I replaced 1.5 years ago. Oh well. The joys of reloading everything again!

At least I got nice new shoes on sale

Steph, I think that is what our state mandates too. Although I know there weren't many long weekends at all... must make a difference in when we all get out.

MP-It rained here most of the day yesterday and then started raining buckets at about 4 am last night (yes I was up)grey and gloomy here too *sigh* I'm starting to think the tan conspiracy is real!!

our kids go to school early aug an get out early may it used to be sept-june but they changed when I was in jr high. I'm not really sure why lol

Riddle... dang it!! I knew I forgot something this morning!!!

LOL, Star! So since my computer just did it for a 2nd time today, the 2nd shoe I have still out trumps it? Not a day for me getting done what I need to get done. But the good news is I found out something that I needed to get done by the end of this week, took about 1/10th the time I thought it would. Only three things on my list to do (yep the list grew from 4 on up for a while).

Thanks for that idea on the hair... I'll try to play with it more tonight. Dawn seems to hint that she wants all my hair to be up. But I think a flower is a great idea no matter what. I just have to find a cute hot pink one somewhere

Sorry about the shopping thing. I am not one who spends a ton of money on clothes normally. But when clothes don't fit, there isn't much you can do. Someone recently asked if I was on a diet or something and the answer is honestly no. I just got tired of seeing all the weight I gained since 2nd year of college. The really really stupid thing is I listened to someone when I shouldn't have. Their idea of what is good for a body is not what is good for mine. It made me gain weight and I had no clue until recently. So I'm eating the way I want and used to way back 10 years ago and funny thing is, it's working. Nothing special, just eating what I want & when I want. No diet anything, fat free or low carb anything. The bad news is all my clothes now do not fit. Some I can still get away with being very baggy and others I can't anymore. Luis got a really good bonus though so he's been "treating" me to outfits when I need them.

Anywho... it's almost quitting time for me so I had better finish up and get the heck on out of here. sorry for that long ramble

Just back from a Mary Kay party at my girlfriends house.......she has one a few times a year & all of my friends use the products........here's where I need all of your OPINIONS...the lady who is the consultant lives 3 hours away & is talking to me about starting to sell Mary-Kay.....I'm thinking it may be something I could do.....actually I'm leaning toward trying it.......what do you guys think??? Should I give it a shot????

I was a Mary Kay rep for about 6 months. I went to one convention and pretty much ran screaming for the hills. After they started to sing about Mary Kay to the tune of YMCA I realized that I was in the wrong place.
I think if I could have been left alone, I would have continued to sell it. But the uplines were very pushy and guilted me into going to meetings and whatever. The uplines make money on what you do, so if you arent selling they are pushing you to sell more (so they can make more $)

Lars- I've never sold any of that party stuff so no real advice here just follow your gut, besides it can't hurt to try if you really want to.

I picked the kids up from camp, we had some leftover pizza, and we're waiting for Lew to get home to take a ride down to the beach to get ice cream!!!! (that's the Shore for you Lou!)

No homework, no practice...no nothin......except getting ready for Disney World!!!!!!!

the woman I was talking with said it was no pressure...no sales quota...meetings not required......only do & sell whatever you want whenever you want..

Any type of networking like that depends on what you want to do with it Laura.

We have a friend who is trying to use it to be able to leave her current job and she is working her butt off!

She is doing well with it, but the family is suffering.

Don't let that scare you though, if you think it is something you want to do give it a try. Just don't allow yourself to become a cookie cutter consultant who views everyone they meet as a target

I know a couple people here that sell MaryKay. I also know a couple people that sell Nutrimetics. They seem to like it.
