Angelrose's Journey

Have a wonderful vacation! I have not left the house all week - I hate snow and ice! I think we are staying in NY this weekend, I just can't deal with the 8 inches of snow on my driveway (it's a long one). I only hope we have enough oil in the tank until we get back down there.

Please remind me of this weather when I am complaining about the heat and humidity in August, lol! :)

Thank you snappyd. I am getting cabin fever with this cold and ice and snow. I don't think I will complain about the heat and humidity EVER again. LOL

Thank you teacherlisa1978. I really can't wait to leave. It looks as though the temperatures in Orlando will be in the 70's and clear by the time we get there. I'm sure I will have lots of stories to tell and pictures when I get back.

Woo-hoo! Vacation is almost here! When you first mentioned it, it was so far in the future. But here it is. I know you'll have a fantastic time!

Thank you minniecarousel. I really need some sunshine and warm weather.

Karen came to pick me up and took my luggage with her and drove me to my hairdresser. I was so glad to finally get it cut short again and get it colored. Right at 10:30 as I was walking out of her house, Chuck called my cell to tell me he was right outside. I got to say hello to the kids and he drove me home.

Around 1:45 it started snowing again. Around 5:30 it stopped and we only got another inch. So I brushed that off the back porch and off my car and shoveled the sidewalk yet again.

Tomorrow they are picking me up to do some grocery shopping and finalize our plans. Then we're going to watch Intelligence before I go home.

I hate not being able to drive. But there is just too much ice around for me to feel confident in driving. Hopefully when we get back all of it will be melted. No, I don't believe that either.

5 days to go!

Woo hoo! It's almost here - have fun and I hope you have nice warm weather and sunshine! :)

Today it got up to a blistering 20 degrees. I can tell you I was out there on my pool deck in my bikini just soaking up all the heat and sunshine. sighhhhh

Actually I hibernated until 2 and then I went out and shoveled the snow that the wind had blown down on the pavement I had shoveled yesterday. And I shoveled a bit more so that the car service will be able to turn around without snow. The rest he can drive over with no problem.

This time we got about 5 inches of snow on Tuesday night. Funny thing is I was going to wait until today to go get my pancakes at IHOP, since it was so bitter cold on Tuesday. But I decided I was going anyway even with the cold. I had my pancakes and stopped at Walmart for some last minute things and came home.

I can tell you I was SHOCKED when I heard the weather report for 4 to 6 inches of snow that night. We were only supposed to get a snow shower. I picked up Jesse and he was so excited that he had been a very good boy at school and got no stop signs and got two sparkly wands. I guess he was polite or shared. He didn't remember what he got them for.

Somebody please lend me a flame thrower. I am so tired of all this snow. Monday it was so nice and warm and melted most of the snow we got over the weekend. Now I have more mounds of snow.

I will be so glad to get to that warm and sunshine, snappyd. You have no idea.

ONE MORE DAY!

ONE MORE DAY!

12 more winters and we retire and I'm never living where it's snows every year again .

Wouldn't it be nice to visit the snow never shovel again. :) just 12 more.

lauradis, to be without snow to shovel would be wonderful. I am so lucky to have a neighbor who usually plows my very long driveway and back parking area. That very bitter day we had, he was out there for two hours plowing my area. His whole family is wonderful to me.

snappyd, I am just off the ceiling right now. I printed my boarding pass. I just have to call the car services and then no more steps except to wait.

Only 20 hours and 49 minutes to go. :cheer2::cheer2:

How can one day have 927 hours?? Well, that's what it felt like. I woke up at 6:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I got up and had my coffee. I looked at the clock. I did a load of wash and then came up here to print out my boarding pass. The clock still hadn't moved. REALLY! I called and confirmed both car services. I put away the laundry. Nope the hands of the clock are glued together. Chuck called to make sure I had confirmed the car services and to tell me they were in Virginia.

I watched tv and had lunch. YAYYYYY it was 10:30. I walked around the house making sure I had everything in my purse that I needed. I decided what I was going to have for dinner. I watched more tv. I washed my hair. WOW it was 1pm.

I watched two shows I had recorded from last night. Oh boy it was 3. I watched the first Harry Potter movie. HOORAY I can have dinner. I watched the second Harry Potter movie.

I got a call from Florida. I was pretty sure it wasn't Chuck, but I answered it anyway.

A man who said his name was Michael, with a strong Indian or Asian accent told me that my Windows was infected with a terrible virus and only he could fix it. All I had to do was give over control of my computer to him.

I said, "that old scam?? Get a new one." and hung up. :rotfl::lmao:

That was very satisfying and I did a little dance.

I'm sure I made his day too.

8 loooooooooong hours and 32 minutes to go. I know I'm not going to be able to sleep very well tonight. My alarm is set for 4:30. I will have a cup of coffee and a breakfast biscuit and pace until the car comes to get me at 5:30.

I will check back in when I can.

See you soon.

Well, I know you're sound asleep by now but I just wanted to wish you a very magical trip (gotta get into Disney lingo!)

HAVE FUN!!

I can never sleep the night before the trip, drives me insane. It's 8:00 so I'm guessing you are at the airport or already on the plane :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm back and I had a wonderful time. It rained a few days while we were there, but it didn't really bother us.

I don't believe I did this, but I tried RNRC and I loved it! I was on a high for about an hour after that. LOL

I also tried Mission Space, the green side and loved that too.

I had some adventures that I can't wait to tell you about. Chuck and Karen just got home after being held up in South Carolina with the snow. They have my laptop with the rest of my TR on it. Plus we have so many of our own pictures that I have to get from Chuck and wait for our Photopass cd to come in the mail.

I can tell you that although I had a marvelous time, it was good to come home and sleep in my own bed and have a bath in my own tub. I was ready to come home.

Of course I came home to an inch of snow yesterday then rain last night and this morning which will turn into more snow tonight. YIPPEE!

I made a quick run to the grocery store last evening and after coming out of the grocery store and starting my car, it sounded like it was going to blow up. Of course, I did what I always do, I PANICKED! I way laid some man to come and look under the hood. By that time the terrible noise had stopped. So he told me to "get my cute self home". LOL And I did, but later found out what that noise was. Either my heater or the blower died in my car. Oh goody, another expense. Plus my mailbox door is broken and won't close now. So I have to make some arrangements with the post office until the spring thaw and Chuck and put up a new one for me.

Boy, it's always something, isn't it?

I'm still glad to be home.

Can't wait to hear about it! :cool1:

We've had horrible weather in NY, I haven't been able to get to my NJ house and will have to miss it again this week :guilty: My car is buried in snow, again.

Glad you made it home safely! Sorry about the car, but it doesn't sound too terrible :)

It turns out the the blower is fine but we decided I really need a reliable car that I don't have to worry about when the next thing will fail.

So at noon I drove to Chuck's and we drove to the Honda dealer. There were 2 or 3 to choose from, but we chose 2012 white one. I paid a bit more than I hoped and a lot more than I wanted. But what can you do. I paid $15,500. It has less than 50,000 miles on it. My car had 129,960 on it and it's 20 years old. They can't sell it, they will just take it to auction. My poor car, I will miss you.

Here is my new car.

I need to REALLY watch the speed on this because I can go 60 and it doesn't feel like I'm moving at all. I also need to go out tomorrow and just sit in it and get to know where everything is and how to change things. I also have to get used to the controls being on the side instead of on my steering wheel where mine was. It will take some getting used to a smaller car too.

But it does drive like a dream.

I will tell you one story from our trip.

Chuck and I went on Test Track and he designed a beautiful race car. The next time we went on I asked him to design a race car for me only I wanted it royal blue with stars on it.

hmmmmmmmm he designed this box. I kept laughing and telling him he was being mean to his mommy. :rotfl:

Here are the pictures.

Fabulous race car, wouldn't you say??

But I got the last laugh because my car tested better than his race car. So there!

HA! Good for you!

RNR & Mission Space are two I'm not sure I'll ever ride again. Space Mt is not my friend either. I like Test Track, though. I look forward tor reading about your adventures. I was sure you were home - been thinking about you!

Glad you got a new car. It sounds like your 20 year old big car was starting to have too many things wrong with it. Hondas are very reliable.

We've been enjoying watching Olympic coverage. Especially the hockey!

Congrats on the new car! :drive: :drive:  :cool1:

It's "You"! Happy trails!! pixiedust:
