Angelrose's Journey

Thanks minniecarousel and snappyd. I really love my new car.

I don't mind Test Track or Mission Space, but I can't ride Space Mountain anymore. Years ago, Ron rode it and said he couldn't ride it anymore because it hurt his brain. I had no idea what he was talking about and that year went on it 3 times in a row because there was no line.

The last time we were there, I rode it and knew EXACTLY what he meant. It did hurt my brain. I can't ride that anymore. I used to love it too.

I'm still getting back to "normal". Well, as normal as I can get.

I'll have you know that it is only 710 more days until we go to Disney again. Give or take a day or two. :rotfl:

I can't believe you rode RockNRoller coaster! DH has never been able to get me on that ride and probably never will. I'm curious how Space Mountain could be worse? Actually I try to avoid all roller coasters now, can't believe I've been on Expedition Everest, don't know if I could do it again!:scared1:

Glad you had such a good time on your trip! Can't wait to read your TR when you post it. I haven't been able to get the courage together to try RNRC yet but I love TT and I did like Mission Space when I did that one, I did the mild one, is that orange? I want to try the other one some day.

Congrats on the new car!

snappyd, Space Mountain is a lot jerkier than RNRC. I think that's what hurts my brain. It gets jostled around too much.

I absolutely LOVE EE. That is so much fun.

rndmr2. Thank you

I just had to tell you. My gas tank was down to about 1/3 so I decided to fill up since we are going to have some snow coming in on Wednesday.

Imagine my surprise when it only cost me $27 to fill the tank instead of $60! I'm loving regular gas.

Chuck came and installed my new mailbox today. So I am very happy today. Doesn't take much, does it?

He told me he will try and get the laptop installed here maybe in the next two weeks. Then he will download the pictures too. I have a tower now and it is so slow at times. So he will install the laptop in it's place. Don't ask me how that will work. I have no idea. I'm just happy when I turn it on and it works.

OK I'm off to watch some tv and then the Olympics.

I know what you mean about the gas, we have a 2012 Camry and we get about 31 miles to the gallon and use regular. When we first got married DH had a van that got about 10 miles to the gallon!

snappyd, that's about what I get with my Honda. 31 miles a gallon compared to 13 to 15 with my Caddy that took premium. What a difference.

The car dealer called me today to tell me my tags are in and he has the manual for me. He will also take a look at why the key thingy won't open the trunk.

I'll go on Friday since that is my usual day out.

We got between 6 and 7 inches of snow today. I am not happy. I am so tired of snow and cold. I want some warm and I want it now, so there!

On a brighter note, I got my registration and my tags put on. He showed me you have to hold down the button for the trunk release. Just for 5 or 6 seconds. I have never heard of a trunk release like that. Oh well, it works and that's great.

Friday was my day out. I got my hair done, and then got the car stuff taken care of.

Saturday I got my pancakes, went to Walmart to get a few food items. Went across the street to Acme to get a few more food items. Stopped at the craft store to get a few things for a little project and then stopped at ShopRite for a few MORE food items. My last stop was Target for, you guessed it, a few more food items. This time, lime yogurt for Jesse. I went home and got everything put away and then loaded up the car with my trash and the old mailbox. The nice man there always helps me upload my car. I went home and didn't move the rest of the day.

Last night I went to have dinner with the family. I kept the kids occupied while Chuck and Karen cooked dinner. We had a nice visit and Karen told me that she no longer has to work mandatory overtime, she can be home by 3:30 to get Jesse off the bus. I get time off until things change at work again. I appreciated that, but now I miss my special time with Jesse.

I hope Chuck can get some time to get my laptop installed here and download the trip pictures so I can get my report started. I hate waiting so long to get it posted, but, I know he has a full schedule with work and two kids to wrangle on the weekends with Karen.

Hello my friends. I spent the day with my grandkids, while Chuck and Karen did their shopping. We played in the basement and watched The Jungle Book. We had lunch and played outside for an hour. It was so nice out. It got up to 65 and the snow is melting fast.

Chuck told me he will install my laptop next Sunday while I play with the kids. If it's nice, I will let them run around the woods. They love that and I can sit down and watch them.

Then all I need is some time to get the pictures organized into my trip report. I will finally get that done.

It's only 692 days more or less until I go again to DW. It's right around the corner! :rotfl:

Eventful week. My heart kind of 'flip flopped' on Tues. and scared the bejeezus out of me. Went for EKG, had to wear a halter monitor for 24 hours, then echocardiogram last evening.

My blood pressure is 140/90 :faint: I go back in 3 weeks - my cholesterol did go down 50 points, hooray! (started lipitor 10 days ago).

Doc thinks it's stress, we'll see.

SO, everyone enjoy your St. Paddy's Day weekend! :lmao:

Oh snappyd, please take care of yourself! You've got to get that blood pressure down soon. Glad that your bad cholesterol is down 50 points! That is huge.

I'm eating more oatmeal. Hopefully mine will be down the next time I go for my checkup. I know it's up because I am taking glucosamine. But I need that for my ankle and knee. So we'll see how that plays out.

I get to watch the grandkids tomorrow for a few hours while Chuck and Karen do their shopping. I'm looking forward to that.

My cousin called me today from his winter home in Florida. I hate him. He was talking to me beside his pool. The weather there has been perfect for swimming. Yeah, I REALLY hate him right now. :rotfl:

Another 1 to 3 inches of snow Sunday night into Monday. YIPPEE. And the hits just keep coming. Going to be "unseasonably" cold the rest of the month.

Yeah, Snappy, take care! Nothing like your heart skipping a few beats to get your attention!

I've finally made the decision to have LASIK done on my eyes. I'm a little squeamish about it, but I'm not happy with my contact lenses and I've been using my glasses and don't like them either. We're also getting so excited for the arrival of our grandson -due May 7th or so. Listening to you and your adventures with your grands is what I want with mine! Hoping the New York son & daughter-in-law will have a baby some day soon too.

Hope you all get some decent weather out there. We are enjoying above normal temps, but we really need rain!

Oh BIG Congrats on your soon to be new grandson. :cloud9: minniecarousel.

My DIL had that lasik surgery and loved the outcome. Good luck with it.

Well, we are not done with the snow just yet. Tuesday we are expecting 5 to 8 inches of snow.

Excuse me while I go into the closet and SCREAMMMMMMMM!

AHHH I feel so much better now.

Congrats Minnie!!!

This has been a bad month. After I went to the doctor for my heart I came down with the flu. DH and I have had it for about ten days now, still feel exhausted. We're still taking antiobiotics, but it doesn't seem to respond to them. First time in years we've been this sick.

He actually stayed home from work for 4 days, which he NEVER does. He had to go back today, I don't know how he did it :confused3

Hope everyone else is healthy, talk to you all soon.

snappyd, I'm so sorry you have the flu. For me it usually takes at least two weeks, sometimes longer. And then after that you feel so tired for about a month. It's really a nasty strain this year.

I've been spending time with my grandkids and helping out at swim team practice with Zoey. I just have to get her into the shower and wash her hair. LOL Sounds easy doesn't it? NAHHHH Little miss complains that the water is too hot when it's barely warm. I would freeze but that's all she wants. Then I have to make sure to get all the shampoo out of her hair without getting in the shower myself. Then she complains that she doesn't want to put socks on. It's WINTER and you have to have socks on. Finally she is all dressed and now comes the fun part. She loves to cuddle on my lap until Jesse is done and Karen is done. It's worth the shower just to have her on my lap.

Last night I went over for dinner and watch Intelligence. I love that show. It was starting to snow but not laying when I drove over at 4:30. By the time I left I had to brush off my car. It was really coming down on my way home, but the roads were just starting to get slushy. It was so pretty driving in the snow, but was sure glad when I got home.

This morning we only got an inch over top of ice. I had to scrape off the car windows and the sun melted the rest. We've had some mean winds that blew most of the snow off the trees.

Tonight I go over for swim team practice again. Then I'll be there on Saturday to watch the kids while Chuck and Karen do their shopping.

Sunday Chuck is coming over to get me switched over to the laptop connected to my server. I have no WIFI here. Then I will finally be able to start working on my trip report and get the pictures in some kind of order.

I'll get this done before Easter!

When it rains it pours.

My nephew's daughter, Katie, broke her leg in the snow this winter. The x-ray showed a tumor on her shin which had weakened the leg, causing the break. They think she was born with it, she just turned 13.

So last week they operated to remove the tumor and do a bone graft. Then she got a fever and her leg was hot. Thank God the antibiotics seem to be working and the fever was down today.

This weekend we woke up Sunday morning to find pink insulation all over the lawn, in the trees and hanging off the roof. Seems squirrels chewed SIX holes in our roof, then a raccoon broke the roof shingles to dig out the squirrel nests. $2400 to repair :faint: They need to reinforce above all the gutters with metal so they can't chew their way in anymore. We had one hole two years ago. Please, don't feed the birds or squirrels, they cause so much damage.

Brought my car in for it's "free" oil change - needed brakes. I could have gone to Disney twice for what this weekend cost me

Hope the rest of you are doing better. And of course it's raining again. :rolleyes2

Oh snappyd that was a monsoon! So sorry about your niece. Hope she gets better quickly.

Squirrels and racoons are very destructive to houses. My cousin had that trouble in her attic and it cost her a mint for repairs. I know brakes are very expensive to get repaired.

Hopefully you got rid of all the bad stuff and things will run smoothly now.

My little granddaughter can use your prayers my friends. She couldn't sleep all last night because she said everything hurt. She couldn't even walk without screaming in pain.

The doctor said she has very bad strep and that could be the cause. He took a blood sample and sent it to the lab. Karen told him about her platelet problem and that she has extreme pain when her platelets are high. It's not supposed to be inherited. He put a rush on the results and we should know late tonight or early tomorrow. We are all very scared right now.

There should be a law that children should never be in pain.

Your granddaughter is in my prayers, I hope she is feeling better by the time your read this! :wizard:

Thank you snappyd. Zoey is now walking without pain. The blood tests confirm that it was just the strep. She is still taking high doses of antibiotics but is feeling so much better today. No fever at all!

I can now breathe.
