Angelrose's Journey

snappyd is your house OK? I heard about the tornado in your town. I hope everything is OK. Let us know.

Last night was our family dinner. I had such a good time. I got to my cousin's house a little before 6. She was at a protest (against our governor) the little pr***. But moving on. Her husband drove me to the dinner. In a GT. I was sitting on the floor! I've never been in such a small car before. Plus it was a stick shift and it can GOOOOOOOOO. Mark kept trying to play with my mind, telling me that he would be there in 5 minutes. (It would take me 20) Well, by golly he wasn't too far off. :rotfl: Most of my cousins were there and my cousin Butch came in a few minutes later. He had made up a trivia game with questions about our aunts. I got 6 right out of 21. LOL But my cousin Rosalie won with getting 16 right. She won the prize that Butch had brought in. It was a nicely wrapped box. It took her a while to get off the wrapping paper and then she needed a knife to cut the tape on the box. Underneath a bunch of tissue paper and bubble wrap was TADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA a box of salt water taffy. OMG how we laughed.

You see, most of our aunts worked in a salt water taffy factory for years, and I worked for two summers for a different salt water taffy factory in high school. It was a fun job.

We had lots of laughs through out the dinner. The dinner started at 6:30 and we didn't leave until 9:30. I think the restaurant was going to ask us to help clean up if we didn't leave. LOL

I rode home with my cousin Joan. No way I was going to get in the small car again. We had more laughs on the way home.

So here is the picture from September's dinner.

And here we are from last night.

I can see that I have lost weight. Still more to go, but I am happy.

OMG Mary, you are a shadow of your former self! Congrats on the weight loss!

I fear I am going in the wrong direction, DH and I love our beer and pasta ;)

I'll be back in the morning, just drove back to NY and cleaned up after dinner.

Thank goodness we had no damage to the NJ house, our neighbor lost a tree.

Have a good evening, talk tomorrow!

Mary! What a transformation! Congrats!

I know what you're talking about - downsizing makes sense. 10 acres is a lot! We have our house for sale, we need to get a one-story, smaller house. (a pool wouldn't be bad, either!) But, man, it's tough - we hardly get any showings, and we're afraid we'll fall in love with another house and not be able to buy because we can't sell this one. Good luck in this decision-making process!

On another note - we went to Disneyland with my sister and her husband. They hardly knew what hit them! They hadn't been on the Fantasyland rides in years, because the lines were always so long. But we showed them how to really use Magic Morning & Fastpasses. They had a rough time keeping up, but we all had a great time!

Thanks snappyd and Julie. I appreciate the compliments. I can see the weight loss in the pictures, but when I look in the mirror, I still see old fat Mary. If I don't lose weight this week, I think I am going to sue WW! :lmao:

Yesterday I did my grocery shopping early and got in the pool for an hour before lunch. I got back in the pool for another two hours and then got a shower and washed my hair and was at the kids house by 4 on the dot. They were all out back.

Jesse was in his little wading pool. "Grandmom, do you want to come in my pool with me?" Oh yeah, just what I want to do after being wet all day. LOL But Grandmom stepped into the pool and let him splash me once. I didn't want to have wet shorts for the evening.

Zoey was sitting on the grass in her pretty little bathing suit, but she does NOT like to get wet. Jesse splashed her and she started to cry.

After a few minutes I got out of the pool and sat on the steps watching him play. Chuck was grilling chicken breasts and Karen went in to change Zoey and make our salad. We ate inside this time because the mosquitoes were starting to come out.

It was very yummy. Little miss was getting so tired and fussy. Jesse wanted to watch tv. "Grandmom do you want to come and snuggle with me?" AWWWWWWW So I snuggled with him and we watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Dinosaur Train. Then it was time for him to get his jammies on. He started to cry until I told him that I was going to go home and go to sleep too. He ran up and got his jammies on and then came RUNNING to me for his goodnight hug and kiss. It's a good thing I was sitting down. Someday he is going to bowl me over. We said our goodnights and Karen took Jesse upstairs and I gave a hug to Chuck and left.

It was a very fun evening. I got home and got comfy to watch Poirot on Mystery Theater on PBS. I love that series. It came on at nine. Unfortunately I fell asleep by 9:30 and woke up to see the last half hour of it. I have no idea what was going on! The good thing is that it will be repeated next Sunday.

Today I grilled up some turkey burgers for the week and baked some turkey bacon. The house sure smelled good.

I got in the pool for an hour this morning and after lunch I took a nap. I needed that.

I swam for another two hours this afternoon before coming in for dinner. I sure am getting my exercise this summer.

Wow, I'm impressed by all the exercising! I sit in front of this silly computer WAY TOO MUCH :sad2:

I have to go out tomorrow, I have a doctor's appt (gastroenterologist). I'm not looking forward to it at all, but I've been putting it off for over a year - I need to get checked and get it over with.

Please think calming thoughts for me tomorrow :)

Sending you hugs and calming good thoughts for tomorrow. Hope everything turns out well.

We had some rain today so didn't get more than two and a half hours in swimming. But that more than tired me out.

I have some new pictures of Jesse and Zoey that I will post when I get a chance.

Hope everything went well for you today snappyd. I've been sending good thoughts to you all day.

Here are some more pictures of the kids.

What a difference in the cousin pix Angelrose! All your hard work is paying off and you look great! Keep up the good work!! :thumbsup2

Love the new photos of your family, they all just glow with happiness :lovestruc. I think Zoey has some of your features :goodvibes. She's even cute in the 'All American Cutie' crying one . And the one of her and big bro Jesse is too precious :cloud9:. Our grands sure have a way to light up our world, don't they ~ God Bless all our sweeties ^i^

Thank you 4nana. Yes they do light up our lives. I don't know what I would do without them.

Tomorrow is my weigh in. I certainly hope I've lost weight. I feel like I have, but you never know until you get off the scale. Wish me luck.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend!! Weather here is supposed to cooperate! :yay: :yay:

Happy 4th to you too snappyd. We are supposed to have a beautiful day here tomorrow but a chance of storms on Sunday night.

Little Miss Zoey is now pushing around her highchair and walking with it. It won't be long before she is walking on her own. She is now 10 months old. I can't wait for her to start talking too. I'm sure she will have a lot to say.

My appointment went well, have to get a colonoscopy next month, but I'm over 50 so it's kind of routine.

Well, by the time we got all our chores done on Saturday we only had about 2 1/2 hours at the beach. Woke up to thunderstorms on Sunday, which picked up again in the late afternoon :sad2: Monday we had to install a new mailbox and drive back to NY, so not the best 4th of July weekend.

Mary, the grands are beautiful!!!!

I'm glad your appointment went well snappyd. Thank you for the compliment on my grandkids. I so enjoy being with them.

Sorry your 4th wasn't as great as you had hoped.

On Sunday we went to Storybook Land. Luckily it stopped raining just as we got there. I decided to get a season pass because we go there a lot. Grandmom had to go on rides with Jesse. He told me to stop talking to him on the ferris wheel. LOL I kept telling him to sit down. I guess he got tired of me nagging him. Next time he asked his mom to ride with him. :lmao:

We were there from 11 to 3! I was TIRED by that time. Zoey loved the train rides and the antique car ride. She was laughing and clapping her hands and jumping all over her mom's lap.

They both fell asleep on the way home. When we got home, Jesse wanted me to play with him. I was lucky to drive home with both eyes open. I didn't do much all Sunday night except sit in front of the tv. I watched a dvd movie. I woke up half way through and rewound to where I fell asleep. I started watching and woke up at the credits again. heh heh heh I just gave up on that one. But it was good tired. I can't wait to do it again.

I spent the 4th doing absolutely nothing but swimming.

Today I went and got the gel polish off my nails and my nails filed down to the normal length. Then I ran to the pool store to get a new hose. One of mine had sprung a leak. I think I got the wrong kind, but hope it will at least last the rest of the season. The pool man is coming sometime before 10 and I have the bug man coming between 9 and 10. At least I will be able to swim in the afternoon.

This morning I was reading the paper and when I got to the regional news, I thought, "that little boy looks just like Jesse" Well, duhhhhhhhhh it was Jesse! They had taken his picture at the Smithville parade on the 4th. He looked so cute waving his little flag.

Karen took him to see Cars2 after that. It was his first time at a movie and he LOVED the movie and sat quietly all through it. He's getting to be a big boy.

I'll let you know of the continuing saga of my pool tomorrow.

Hope the pool is running smoothly! We hope to get in some beach time this weekend, if the sun cooperates.

I can't wait to get there tonight to refill the hummingbird feeders. We have so many birds this year they drain the feeders before I get back every week. Then we have to water all the plants on the porch before we even get inside the house, LOL! I'll try to take some pics this weekend.

So cute that Jesse is a celebrity! Did you cut out the picture and frame it?

Have a wonderful weeekend! :)

Boy did we have a rain storm here just now. It rained so hard that my satellite was out for 15 minutes. That is so unusual. But the thunder and lightning are over and the rain is just about stopped.

I got good news on my weigh in last night. I lost 1.2 pounds last week. I am just .4 away from 50 pounds! I am so excited.

My pool is doing fine now. But I've had to take water out of the pool for three days now. The water is clear and I have been enjoying swimming for 3 1/2 to 4 hours every day.

The funny story about the hose. I was expecting him around 10. Well, ten came and went and he wasn't here. Around 11:30 I get a call from his wife saying that he was in Bargaintown and had forgotten me but would catch me on the way back around 2pm. For some reason that struck me very funny. I know, I'm odd.

When he came a little after 2, I told him I was devastated that he had forgotten me. The poor man thought I was serious until I started laughing. He fixed my original hose in 20 minutes and it has been fine every since.

I will be making a run to the kids house tomorrow to pick up my Netflix (and of course, getting a couple of hugs from Jesse and Zoey) and then back home. I think I will have an early lunch and then get my swimming in after a short nap.

Hi! Got home kind of late last night after a 3-day weekend. LBI was beautiful this weekend! I think Sunday was one of the most perfect days I have ever seen!

Back to reality for a few days.....congrats on the weight loss! I think I hurt my DH's feelings this weekend, but he gained at least 20 pounds this winter and I'm worried about his health. He is now about 30-40 pounds overweight and does not want to hear that he needs to eat less :sad2:

Looks like another pool day for you Mary!!!

Thank you for whatever kind thoughts you posted tinkerdorabelle. I appreciate them believe me.

I don't know why but for some reason while I was swimming this afternoon, I just started to cry. I guess maybe because he used to love swimming every day. I don't know. After two years, you would think that it would get easier. It hasn't. I don't cry or rage as much, but every once in a while it sneaks up on me. Sometimes I can talk about his passing without crying and other times, I'm a blubbering mess. I just don't understand my emotions.

I'm glad you had a good time at LBI this weekend snappyd. Nothing like the shore to relax.

Hi Karen! :wave2:

I'm going to see Harry Potter this weekend with Chuck. We will see the 3D and Karen and her friend Liz will go see the regular. I get to see everyone again. :yay:

It sure has been swimming weather. Very hot and it's starting to get very humid this week. I have been swimming 4 hours a day. I love it.

I didn't lose an ounce last week. Very frustrating! After all that swimming and pretty much keeping to my points you would think I would lose SOMETHING. Oh well, I can hope for this week.

Sunday I ran and did my grocery shopping, came home and put everything away and was at the kids house by 9. When I walked in the door, Jesse was in a timeout AGAIN. But Zoey gave me a big smile. Karen was holding her hands to help her walk and then put her in her high chair. As soon as I got close, she started moving her little legs and raising her arms to me. What a smile! So of course I had to take her out of her chair and give her a big hug. Then we went walking around the living room and I let her play with her toys.

Karen gave Jesse his little talk and then he had to apologize to Chuck and then he was allowed to greet me. He took off and ran to me and jumped in my arms, just as they were telling him not to jump on me. LOL It's a good thing I was sitting down. I gave him his big hug and give him his kisses on his neck which makes him giggle and then he was off.

Karen had seen Harry Potter on Saturday night with her friend. So Chuck and I went to see the first showing at 10am. Now I purposely didn't have anything to drink besides my glass of orange juice early in the morning. I only had a couple of chunks of honey dew. As soon as I got to the kids house I made a bee line for the bathroom. I was sure I would be fine for the whole movie.

insert creepy music here.

Half way through I started to get "that feeling". OH NOOOOOOO I was hoping I could hold out. Right at the part where he is talking to Dumbledore I just HAD to go. sighhhhhhhhhhh I didn't miss much, thank goodness. We both really enjoyed the movie except that we were both shivering it was so cold in there. I guess they were expecting a huge crowd but there were only about a dozen people in there. I was so cold when we got outside in the heat and humidity it felt GOOD.

I had lunch with the kids and then I came home. I tried to take a nap but they were shooting across the parkway from me. They aren't supposed to shoot after June 15th. But I guess when your uncle is the mayor, you don't have to abide by the rules. @%#^@&*!!!

I didn't feel like swimming at all so I just watched tv all afternoon. I did make up some turkey chili and put most of it in the freezer. I will have some of that tomorrow for lunch.

My cousin Joan called me to ask if I wanted to come over tomorrow afternoon to swim in her pool and chat. She is at a standstill with her weight loss too. We can commiserate with each other tomorrow. LOL
