Angelrose's Journey

Today would have been our 46 anniversary. I remembered everything we did during the day. It was fun remembering and a bit sad too. But I didn't cry today. I guess that's progress.

Today when I took a short nap I dreamed of Ron. We were in the pool and laughing. I woke up and wondered for just that instant where he was.

Last Saturday I babysat for the kids for a few hours while Chuck and Karen had dinner out and a bit of grocery shopping. Karen told me that Zoey was miserable all day because of teething. But she was all lollypops and roses for me. I guess that's the Grandmom magic. :wizard: Jesse was very good too. We played down in the basement and Zoey just wanted to crawl all over me. That was fine with me. I played basketball and catch with Jesse while holding on to Zoey while she stood and hung on me. I think I had as much as fun as the kids.

Around 6:30 I could tell Zoey was so ready for bed. I changed her diaper and put on her jammies and put her in her crib. She went down without a whimper. I told Jesse he could stay up a bit longer. He was very good and I read him a story and a half. This one book I can read about two pages and then he starts turning the pages after I read one sentence. LOL I put him to bed with some protests around 7:30.

Chuck and Karen came home around 8:30 and Jesse was coming down the stairs calling MOMMY! He came down and gave daddy a hug and then mommy put him to bed. He cried but he stayed in bed.

We talked for a while and then I came home and vegged. It was a wonderful time. :cloud9:

Angelrose, I have followed your thread since your first post when Ron was injured, your heartbreaking sad loss, and throughout your difficult journey. I want you to know how much I admire your faith, strength and positive outlook on life and the example you have set for so many Dis friends is very touching. :flower3:

Today must have been such a bittersweet day for you indeed, but how wonderful you had so many loving years together, full of good times, that some never know. Also, Ron visiting you in your dream on your anniversary is a reminder he is always with you in spirit. He knows the heartache you have endured and he is reminding you he is ok and so proud at how far you're come. The love you shared is so very special and will warm your heart in all your days till you meet again.

Happy Anniversary ~ God Bless you and your wonderful family. :grouphug:

Ron shares those wonderful memories of today always, no matter where he is.
He knows he is always in your thoughts as you are in ours as we share your journey with you. To be able to remember and not shed tears, that is indeed progress and healing.

Thank you both. I think you are right 4nana. I think Ron comes to visit me every once in a while to give me strength to go on. I just wish he was here to get hugs from the grandkids like I do. He would be so happy playing with them. I'm sure he is smiling whenever I get those hugs.

It has been a difficult journey so far. I know the hurt will never go away. It will just get easier to deal with.

I try to get a positive outlook and try to always have SOMETHING to look forward to. Right now I'm looking forward to Zoey's first birthday at the end of August and Jesse's 4th birthday in November. Then I can look forward to the holidays. Another bittersweet time. Ron so loved all our Christmas decorations. Then I have our trip to Disney World to look forward to in February. I know Ron will be with me there too.

I'm also looking forward to the milestone of 50 pounds lost. I haven't hit it yet. I am close though. Then my next goal is to get below 150. That probably won't happen until next spring, the way I am going. It is sooooo slow. I stay the same and then I go up a half pound, then lose a pound. Then go up again. Very frustrating. But it is something I have to do for me.

Thank you both again for the encouraging words. I really need that.

YIPPITY SKIPPITY!! I did it! I lost 2.2 pounds this week for a total of 50 pounds!!!!!! I am so excited, I can't even sit still. I did my happy dance at the meeting tonight. :lmao:

Now my next goal is to get below 150. Another 7 pounds to go for that. But I will get there. It may take me another 6 months, but I will get there.

I'm so happy for you! Congratulations on all that hard work, good for you! You'll be more than ready to walk everywhere on your trip to Disney next year. Good luck with the next 7, we're all rooting for you!

Chris

You are awesome!! Congratulations on the weight loss! :yay::yay:

I haven't been on the computer for awhile, DH has acute bronchitis and has needed some TLC.

I won't be able to post much in the coming few weeks, just know I think of you often AngelRose, I'll come on when I can for updates

woo-hoo! Congrats Mary! What a great milestone.

You are so blessed to have such a wonderful family to help you through the rough times. Hang in there!

Thank you all for the congrats. I am still on :cloud9:

Chuck came over this afternoon to load my car with more junk from the basement. I think eventually I will just need a dumpster. So many things that are just rusted to death or of no value to me at all anymore. It will be a big job and Chuck said he would get his friend to help him with it. Maybe in the fall we can get that done.

We had a nice talk and then he left and I went back to swimming.

Tomorrow I get my hair done and do some shopping. Nothing exciting just food and maybe get my eyes examined.

snappyd, I hope your husband feels better soon. That bronchitis can be dangerous. Sending healing prayers to him.

Dh had to go back to work today even though he is still on antibiotics and cough medicine, his company is very strict. Even though his doctor faxed a form saying he could stay home until today they made us go into the city on Friday so medical could look at him. Then they told him to come back today anyway.

We have driven back and forth from NY to NJ so much in the past week, I'm exhausted.

He is working tomorrow, then we are going to NJ again! DH is off Thursday and Friday and we had plans for my nephew, his wife and 4 kids to come down for a long weekend. Hoping the weather hold out, the kids are so excited to go to the beach. Then Saturday my older sister and other nephew, along with their two dogs are coming down for a night or two.

I'll be exhausted again by Monday! :upsidedow

It's funny, I used to think people who were married more than 25 years were ancient, yet I'll be married 30 years in October. Funny how young 50 looks to me now!! LOL

Oh I hope your husband feels better. Companies are so heartless, aren't they?

You certainly have a busy schedule going on there. LOL Hope you have fun this weekend at the beach. The weather forecast looks pretty good. We'll be getting some rain tomorrow though.

It was the perfect day for swimming today. I got in my four hours. There was bright sun but lower humidity and a bit of a breeze. The water was still 86 by this afternoon. Too bad I can't get the temp to stay at 78 all summer. Now that would be so refreshing. I need a small ice berg. Anyone have one for sale?? :lmao:

The water at the beach has been so COLD! :cold: Maybe we can send you some salt water for the pool and you can send us some of your warm water to swim in

I LIKE that idea. LOL The water only got up to 84 today. We had clouds this afternoon to keep temps down a bit.

I'm still getting my four hours of swimming in every day except for weekends. Tomorrow is weigh in, so I hope to have lost something this week.

The kids had a great time! We went to the beach two days and then on the last day we went to the lake near my house.

The ocean has been insanely rough the past couple of weeks and the water got very cold again. It was so nice to go to the lake and be able to float around in warm water!

We went out for pizza to a local place the first night and they loved that - they don't get to go out much.

It was fun but it was a lot of work cleaning up after they all left - we also had two dogs visiting :scared1:

DH had to work today for one day, then we are going back tonight. It will be nice to have a clean, quiet house again! ;)

Sounds like a great time was had by all. Glad you had such a fun time.

I get to go to Storybook Land on Saturday and then I babysit on Sunday morning so the kids can go to Atlantic City and visit the outlets. I'm looking forward to playing with my angels again. I miss them as soon as I leave their house!

Tomorrow is my WW meeting. I hope I've lost again.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank goodness for a cloudy day! My back is hurting from sitting in the beach chair too much the past couple of weeks

My only worry is my hummingbirds in NJ - they are draining the feeders (5 feeders) almost on a daily basis - I might not get back there til Friday night - I hope they don't desert me!

How was the weigh-in? I've actually manged to lose 5 pounds this month just by drinking less beer and skipping a meal here and there :yay:

I'm going to try posting a video of them in the rain yesterday - I'll be back in a few minutes.

Now come February, you will be wishing you were back in that beach chair snappyd. :rotfl:

Well I did lose last week, but only .2. Still, it's better than staying the same or gaining, which I think I have done this week. I have been bad a couple of days this week. Oh well, I'm being good now. We'll see how bad I was Thursday.

I had such a good time with the kids at Storybook Land on Saturday. We got there right at 10 and stayed until a bit after 1. Both kids had had it by then. And so had Grandmom for that matter.

Grandmom has to ride the ferris wheel with Jesse and the old time cars and the dragon.

Don't you just love Chuck's t shirt? It has a picture of Grumpy on it saying Are we having fun yet? LOL He wears that when he knows he isn't going to have fun. But he did admit to having fun this time.

When we got home, both kids took a nap and I went home and did the same.

Sunday I got there right at 9am. Jesse wanted to watch the Little Einsteins so I had an easy morning with him. Zoey was a bit fussy because she is teething. But after a few minutes she was smiling again. I made her stay up a bit later so I could give her some Tylenol at noon and then she was down without a word.

Jesse and I went down the basement and played for about an hour and then I told him he had to take a nap. He wanted me to carry him upstairs! LMAO I told him I can hardly carry me upstairs. Chuck and Karen do that so he won't feel left out when they carry Zoey upstairs to bed. Grandmom cannot do that.

He fussed a bit, but I told him if he was a good boy and took his nap, when he woke up there would be two presents for him.. He thought about it for a few minutes and then up the stairs he went.

I had one solid hour of peace and quiet while I read my book before Zoey woke up. I played with her for a while and then the kids came home.

Zoey walked two steps to Karen all by herself! We all clapped and Zoey just laughed. She did it again too.

I was very ready to go home and take a nap myself. Now that was two days of not swimming. I was ready to go swimming today but it rained this morning.

My cousin Joan called and invited me over to swim in her pool. So after lunch I went and had a great time. We are going to see Harry Potter again sometime in the next couple of weeks and go out to Salad Works for dinner and Barristas for a decadent coffee after. I told her to just give me a call and I will be free any day except Thursday.

Well, that was my weekend and today. The rest of the week will be quiet I'm sure.

Wow AngelRose, you put me to shame with all your energy! I can't believe Zoey is starting to walk already, it seems like we were just waiting for her to be born!

Salad Works and decadent coffee sound wonderful! Dh wants to go to Olive Garden this weekend - we have a gift certificate and they are having the unlimited Pasta Bowl.

Here is a little video of my hummingbirds from Sunday morning:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nfrAyROwUw

I have 5 feeders out and they drain them all in a day or two :scared1:

Oh WOW, you sure do have a herd of hummers there. I only have one feeder and just a few hummers fighting over it. I have maybe a half dozen but they come at different times. Do you use plain sugar water? I use the prepared red stuff in the plastic bottles. Maybe I should switch back to sugar water and maybe get a few more hummers coming.

I ran over to Walmart this morning and Target to get a few things. I was going to get the water off the solar cover when I got back, but just couldn't make myself do it.

I took a nap at 12 and fell asleep right away which is unusual for me. I woke up to the sound of a downpour. I looked at the clock and I had been asleep for less than half an hour. LOL I just turned over and went right back to sleep.

I did get the water off the cover later on. Boy, that thing is HEAVY when there is so much water on the top. But I got it off and vacuumed. I hadn't done it for three days so there was a lot of bugs on the bottom. It was 3:45 by the time I was done, so I just swam for 15 minutes and came in.

We're going to have sunny skies tomorrow so I will finally be able to get in my morning swim. I've missed it.
