Angelrose's Journey

Hope everyone's doing well, just wanted to pop in and say Hi! We've ll been sick with a stomach virus. Dd6 had it Saturday night around 1 am. I heard her burp and thought "That doesn't sound good" Went to turn out the light and check on her, turn around and she's standing there behind me. She said "you know how you feel sometimes when..." and that's all she got out. I grabbed the trashcan (amost in time). So I took care of Dd, got a Sprite, gave her a bath and tucked into bed while DH cleaned up. (I kinda giggled cause I have a weak stomach so I was glad he did it);)

Well, then Dh gets it Monday and Tuesday and DD11 had it Tuesday night in the middle of the night, didn't wake me up until she was done. So I got to clean up her mess yesterday morning...let me tell you, I would have gladly cleaned up after DD6 instead. How in the world does one manage to get sick on every wall of the bathroom. I don't know, but dd managed to do it.:headache:

Then I felt bad all day yesterday, never got sick but felt horrible. DD6 was in heaven because she got to fix her own dinner. Microwaveable pizza rolls, chips and applesauce, with ginger ale. She loves ginger ale. After, she put her plate in the dishwasher along with mine and other dd's, got out her school clothes, and took a bath the 1st time I asked. :cloud9::hug:

Truly amazing since she's my reminder girl. Have to remind her 1,000 times to do anything. She's getting a big  this afternoon !!!

Angelrose, is DDIL doing OK??

Hello all!!!! Long time no hear (from me;))
CONGRATS Angelrose! How wonderful...Jesse will be a perfect big brother and another little baby-bundle to hug. Sending prayers that this time will be smooth sailing from start to finish! When is she due? Something so wonderful to look forward to!!

How was WDW CHell?? I thought of you and then time ran away from me... I was sick with some nasty bug for about 10 days after Chrsitmas and then we went on a family Cruise Jan 9 and got home here Jan 20. Getting my youngest daughter set to head back to NYC and school this coming Sunday then I think I told you (??) my oldest is off to Disney for the Cultural program at Epcot for a year come May soooo it's been a whirlwind around here! I see everyone making great strides getting all the Christmas decorations put to bed except me! It screams Christmas at my house! Next week--for sure! I still have 1 suitcase to unpack and add to the wash...

How is everyone? Happy to see that you are all chatting away--I think of you soooo often..

Oh ksumn1, I hope you feel better. Those stomach bugs are the worst. That is so cute that your DD6 was helping mommy by being a big girl. AWWWW

minnie56 welcome back. We were wondering where you were. It sounds like you've been super busy. Karen is doing well so far, thanks. She is due around the middle of September. We'll know better when she gets her sonogram done.

Chuck is coming over tomorrow morning and helping me get some decorations down and putting them away for me. Then if all goes well, I will be going to see Avatar 3D tomorrow. I have one last call to my girlfriend tomorrow morning to make sure. I am really looking forward to that.

Avatar looks like a great movie. Not really the type of thing I would normally like, but the graphics alone make it appealing. Hope you have a good time.

Sick again today, ugh. :headache:

minnie56, sounds like you've been busy, busy, busy. Maybe you'll get a little rest soon.;)

chell, how are the kitties?

ksumn1 I'm so sorry you are feeling bad again. Please take care of yourself and feel better soon.

I went to see Avatar this afternoon. OH. MY. GOODNESS! It was fantastic! The story, the colors, the special effects, the action! It was close to 3 hours long, but I would gladly pay $10 to see it in 3D again. It actually felt like you were doing the things the characters were doing. This picture should get many academy awards.

Chuck came over this morning to help me put away some Christmas stuff and we talked for a while. It's always good to see him.

Thanks minniecarousel. So far so good.

I got a nice surprise today. My cousin called me. He splits his time between NJ and FL. He had just come back and wanted to see how I was doing. He wanted to know how our trip went and how I survived the holidays. We caught up on some family stuff too. It was so good to hear from him. As kids we were very close. We were "partners in crime". We talked about our favorite memories of our childhood. Funny how I remember those things as clear as a bell, but ask me what I did this morning? UHHHHHHHHHHH

Congratulations to you all for the baby on the way! Of course I will keep her and the baby in my thoughts and prayers.

We moved the kitties in the other night. The other cats don't know what to think so there is a lot of hissing and growling going on. But no one is fighting. That's good! We have named them Hayley and Comet. Hayley is due within a week. :scared1: She hasn't started looking for a spot yet, so it isn't too close yet.

When we first tried to move them in they would come in the house then run back out as soon as the door was opened. The next night we brought them in and they haven't attempted to go back out since. Comet mostly stays under the bed. We have gotten her to come out a bit more. She likes to follow me to the bathroom. Luna doesn't like that because that is her job.

Hello everyone. I've been busy putting away Christmas decorations and cleaning up. All I have left is the tree which I started on today. Oh I HATE this part. I can never find an ornament that I know I put on. So I have to keep out all the tubs of boxes until I find it. Oh well, it will get done eventually.

We are expecting a "significant" snowstorm this weekend. Not happy about that. I'm going to run to the grocery store tomorrow to pick up a few things, just in case.

When I went out to get the paper this morning, I noticed a tree down right by the road. With all the wind and rain we had I wasn't surprised. I think my neighbor cut it up for me. I will have to call and thank him. He is so thoughtful. Hopefully Chuck will be able to come over on Friday and haul the top branches to the back of the property before the snow comes. This el nino has been awful. This past summer we had strong winds and branches and trees down all over the neighborhood. No chance to blow off the leaves in the yard because it never gets dry before another rain comes. Then the big snow storm while I was away. Then it melts and we get a ton of rain which floods the basement. Now we had some strong winds and another tree down and more snow coming! I PROTEST!

chell, I hope Hayley has a safe delivery. What are you going to do with the kittens?

Does anyone want 6 inches of snow?? I'd be more than willing to share some or all of it.

Chuck came over early this morning to help me get rid of all the trash and the Christmas tree. We filled his truck and went to the dump. Jim who manages it was there. I asked him if he had cut down the tree, but he said it was the country road crew. But he said as soon as it got warmer, he would get all the small branches and load them in his truck and take them to the dump for me. He said Ron had always been nice to him and he wants to take care of me now. He keeps a watch on the house for me. Wasn't that sweet? I told him how much I appreciated it. We came home and Chuck replaced a bulb for me and put the stroller away. He told me he would pick me up tomorrow for a family dinner if it snowed. LOL I don't know if that will happen with all this snow. I had gone out around 4 and brushed the snow off the back porch and made a trail to the driveway. Well that was an exercise in futility. It covered over again in a couple of hours. So I will have to get out there in the morning and do it again.

On a better note. I finally got all the photopass pictures cropped and uploaded into Shutterfly. I am now ready to start my trip report. I'll see if I can get it started tomorrow.

Your neighbor Jim is so sweet! Can you believe we got 9 inches of snow?

Thank you. Hayley still hasn't had the babies yet. We plan on adopting them out once they are old enough. We will adopt Hayley and Comet out too probably. This house is too small for 5 pets.

How is Karen feeling? Hope she is doing well with that new baby growing in her tummy!

Hey ladies...

Hope you are all keeping well???
Can't believe the snow so many places are getting and we have almost none at all. A dusting..then it melts. VERY strange. Stay warm and and inside as best you can!

Since my cruise I have made very little headway on getting my house 'de-Christmasd' it seems. The ornaments are off the tree, the mantle cleared of garland as well as the stairs etc but the tree still stands lol...hopefully today or tomorrow we will tend to that!!!!

Awwww...tell me how you came to be having 'babies' Chell? How sweet will they be!! I have 2 kitties...they are so dear.

We went out of town this weekend...had lots of fun. Went to a place called 'Casino Rama' about 2 hours from here and saw a Glen Campbell show. Remember him? He was actually very good..we all enjoyed. He's an excellent musician and still sings well..gets a little lost when he ISN'T singing hehe..but he was worth seeing for sure. He's 73..wow

I hope I can see your pictures Angelrose! Sad how fast these times fly by ...great that we can keep them to see though!

Take care...I will stop by again. I do read...just don't always have anything worth chatting about! Same old..same old:confused3

You only have 2 kitties? Do you want more? I can send some your way. ;) We had 2 cats and one dog already. But a few weeks before we left for vacation there was a kitten outside that looked sort of like Luna, just a tad smaller and with a little tan color on her. Since it got even colder while we were gone the girl watching our cats didn't realize she was staying under our shed and made her a "condo" out of a old kitty litter container on the porch. Anyway, she moved into the condo permanently. Then her sister started coming around. The sister was a lot more afraid of us and didn't come up to the food as much either. We named them Hayley & Comet. Hayley finally warmed up to us and one day when I picked her up I realized she was pregnant. :scared1: We had already decided to get them both fixed so we don't have more kitties running around the yard. Since the weather was getting even colder around here we decided to bring them inside.

Bringing them inside we also thought that would help them adjust to other cats and dogs and people. We figure they will be more adoptable this way. We wanted Hayley to have her babies in the house so that will be safer too. My friends think I'm nuts. But I think we are dong what is best for the kitties. This way they will not only be in a safe environment but they will also be used to people.

When is your next trip?

We are going to Peoria, IL for a weekend trip in 2 weeks.

Bless your heart, I do NOT think you are nuts. I cannot tell you how many animals I have helped and sometimes sadly 'tried' to help. Michelle, folks like YOU make the difference to some poor furbabies chance at life.

I have never met an animal I didn't like..I cannot say the same for people tho!;)

Now--were you nearby I am sure I could be coerced to take one kitty though even my own Vet told me a couple of weeks back that I shouldn't have any more dogs or cats because they break break break my heart when they leave me, sometimes it seems too soon. I had 3 cats and 2 dogs..and one by one..they go. :sad1:

I have one kitty losing weight at the moment for no apparant reason (??) and though bloodwork shows nothing of concern..I am getting most worried and watch her like a hawk.

You should have little problem adopting them out..all too often it's the older kitties that nobody wants.:sad2:

Where next? Hmmm...Vegas in March I think???

:rolleyes1

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you understand. Hayley & Comet are only about 6 months old so they really are still babies.

Vegas sounds like fun. I'm ready for WDW again.

Hey, everyone! We got home from Savannah Thursday evening and a slug ever since....well, except for the hundred loads of laundry! LOVED Savannah! We walked everywhere, which is what I miss about living here, so it was heavenly. What an interesting city - so much history.

Angelrose, congratulations on the new grandbaby on the way! Hope Karen has an easy pregnancy this time.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday, my friends. Missed you!

We had about 7.5 inches of snow here - they don't plow neighborhood roads down here, only the major ones...and no sand, only salt, so nothing for traction. Funny, I don't find the snow as exciting here as in Boston - it is so much prettier there. After a snowstorm, I'd look out the window and it would be a winter wonderland and I'd think it is worth putting up with the long winters just to see this... For some reason here, it's just snow. Might be my state of mind.

Guess what? Still have Christmas decorations in my bedroom - cannot seem to get motivated to take them down and it's not that I am enjoying the decorations as I don;t even notice them anymore. Maybe I'm a teensy bit depressed - only have a few decorations and yet feel overwhelmed.

Anyone have a trip to look forward to? I'd love a few days at WDW during Flower and Garden, but none of my everyday friends who travel will go to Disney and a solo trip holds no appeal for me. No one to share the fun with!

chell, those kitties sure got lucky when they found you - I am so happy for them and know you will find all them excellent homes.

Minnie, I just noticed you are thinking of Vegas in March? Good for you! Happy planning!

chell, we must have been posting at the same time....let's go to Flower and Garden for a long weekend!! :thumbsup2

I am ready for WDW too! I did tell you that my daughter will be going there in May for 1 year in the Cultural Rep program at Epcot? Have never done the Flower&Garden show..it must be so pretty.

Yes, at 6 months they will have a good chance at a good home too..you have made the difference here you know:hug:

I LOVE Savannah too Minnie&Nana..it so interesting. Did a GREAT Ghost walk there....wow....still very scary to remember. I get emails from Kehoe House still and am often tempted. TOO many places I want to see!!!!;)

Thank you for your prayers Art 1. I still need them to get through each day.

Today was a good day. I woke to hear a very strange noise from my back yard. It was just 7am and my neighbor Chris from across the street was already there with his snow blower. He had already done part of my driveway. By the time I got dressed and started to brush the snow off my porch he was almost done. He even brought me my paper so I didn't have to go out for it. Now tell me, am I lucky to have such wonderful neighbors who take such good care of me.

Around 10, Chuck called to say he was picking me up to spend the day with them. Jesse gave me a big hug and was so glad to see me. I had to sit down right next to him and watch Mickey Mouse Playhouse for the 1,000th time. LOL I brought him a couple of Hot Wheels and he was very happy with them and had to show momma and daddy. We played with them for a while and then had a light lunch of chicken nuggets and potato salad. Jesse went for a nap and Chuck, Karen and I talked and kind of snoozed ourselves. When Jesse woke up, we played some more while Karen and Chuck made dinner. We had chicken and rice with cream of chicken soup in the crock pot. This time she added the rice about an hour into the cooking time. It came out so good. It was more like risotto. Nice and creamy. She also made shake and bake type potatoes in the oven. They are not much on veggies there! She made an apple cake that was out of this world. We watched the Cars movie and then it was time for Jesse to take a bath. Karen and I talked for a while. She is spotting. But not as bad as with Jesse. So we are hopeful that everything will be OK. Jesse came down and we watched Dinosaur Train. It was very cute. Then it was time for Jesse to say goodnight. He gave me a big hug and a kiss and daddy took him upstairs. He was blowing kisses to me the whole way upstairs. Karen and I were laughing to the whole time. It was time for Chuck to bring me home. I was exhausted from so much fun. LOL I got home around 8. Now I am going to sign off and snuggle in front of the tv for the rest of the night.
