Angelrose's Journey

Christine here's a hug for you too :grouphug: It's funny about the little things that you miss. I used to have to get up in the middle of the night because of his snoring. I would walk around and hope he would turn over. Sometimes I had to ask him to turn over because I had to get some sleep. Now I would give anything to hear him snore again.

The ice and snow have all melted around here. Of course tomorrow we're expected to get an inch or two of new snow. I'm not looking forward to that. Today I could see that they've already treated the roads around here. By Saturday when I have to drive, I'm sure the roads will be fine.

Thank you, Angelrose.

Because of my dad's snoring, in later years my mom and dad had separate bedrooms, but they were directly across the hall and the doors were always open..I don' know how this helped with the snoring, but they would not close those doors so they could still feel close. Married 55 yrs and still very much love - they still held hands walking through a Mall. I miss them too. This time of year is tough, no matter how many years may pass.

I can't wait until it warms up so I can talk Sophia for a walk everyday! I can't stand the cold and no longer have proper clothing to keep warm - nor does Sophia. If we still lived in Boston we would have warm enough clothes and get out at least sometimes.

Walks really do help emotionally and good for us exercise wise too. I've gained a lot of weight since we moved here, but hoping when the weather is milder I can begin to get in better shape. :)

I had a busy day today. I was out of the house by 6:50. I got gas and made it to Walmart by a 7:20. I got bird seed and grape juice. Now I can usually handle (with difficulty) a 40 lb bag of bird seed. Not today. I could barely get the two 20 lb bags in the cart. And paying more for them, darn it. When I got to my car, I was putting in the other bags and a nice gentleman asked if he could help. I told him I would be so grateful. He put those bags in like nothing. I thanked him profusely. Wasn't that nice of him? Then I was on my way to get my hair done. We had a nice visit and made plans for her to come and see my Christmas decorations on Monday if she can fit it into her schedule. Yes, I still have them all up. I will start putting them away by next weekend. We made plans to go to the movies one or two nights this week. We both want to see Avatar and Sherlock Holmes. That will be fun.

Then I went to the grocery store to get some fried chicken. To balance that out, I got a salad from the salad bar. I don't usually do that, but everything looked so fresh that I indulged. After that I stopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond to get a long bottle brush and some Sham Eze. Like Sham Wows but a different brand. My last stop was to the dump. My neighbor runs it and he just took everything out of my car for me and asked how my trip went. I told him I had a wonderful time. I have two wonderful neighbors who always watch out for me. I am blessed.

I got home around 12 and had lunch. Fried chicken and a salad. Big surprise there. I was really tired so I took a nap. After I woke I did nothing but make dinner and watch tv. But I had a good day.

Now a funny story about Jesse. Karen is trying to potty train him. She took him to the potty before his nap and he was sitting there, reading his alphabet book and saying the letters. After about 5 minutes he stood up (without peeing of course). He then proceeded to pee all over the floor and rug. He said "Oh my goodness, I am peeing. I am cold and my sockies are all wet!" Now how could you not laugh at that?

Chell has landed back in NC and headed home! Does not sound a it was a great week very cold and of course she was sick - poor thing. Now we have two TR's to look forward too!!

Jesse is as precious as they come!! I can just see his little face. Sooo sweet.

Sounds like you had a very nice day - I'm glad. One day at a time...one day at a time. It is wonderful to have friends who care about you and are there for you - it shows how caring you and Ron have been over the years.

We began staking down Christmas decorations ( we do it after the Epiphany) - he tree is outside...kind of sad to see that beautiful thing in the yard - it was part of many new memories. Most other decorations are on the dining room table to put put away. The large wreath is still above the fireplace. everything is still up in my room...will work on that tomorrow, I hope.

Have a good rest tonight.

Oh- that is cute! He'll catch on before long!

Here is something I posted on another thread and thought I'd share here too:

It was very, very cold for Florida! We had to wear two jackets the whole time! Sadly we didn't get to meet.

Last Saturday I started feeling nauseated while waiting for It's Tough To Be A Bug. I thought my claustrophobia was getting much worse. Turns out it was the start of a nasty virus. After the Wishes Dessert Party Saturday night we were rode BTMRR once and I wasn't feeling well at all so we went to the room. Then I didn't get out of the bed for more than a few minutes at a time until Tuesday about 2 PM.

Sunday morning the vomiting & diarrhea started. Once my husband woke up he went down to the front desk for help. Poor thing, he didn't know what to do being so far from home. Luckily I had Phenergan with me but it wasn't doing a lot. A doctor came to our room and gave me a shot that burned SO bad. It was something stronger than Phenergan. It worked. But it took me a while to recover. We took the rest of the week very slow. It was Wednesday before I ate a meal again.

This was the slowest trip I've ever had. We didn't do a lot but we enjoyed being on vacation. We slept in a lot.

Thursday morning my husband scheduled me a facial and manicure at the spa at the Dolphin to help me to relax and feel better after being sick. My skin was so dried out between being sick and the cold weather. It was a wonderful treat! He was going to get me a massage but I was afraid I was too tender to get one. I was afraid of them hurting me. On top of being tender from all the walking, but from being sick too I was super tender.

Angelrose I'm sorry you had some rough days. Those Jesse is so adorable!

I hope the new year started off well for everyone.

Oh chell, WELCOME HOME! I'm so sorry you got sick on your vacation. You've been looking forward to it for so long and then to spend a lot of time in bed feeling bad. But at least you did get to rest and be with your DH. What a treat to have a manicure and facial. You have a winner of a husband.

I am feeling a bit better now. It was just very rough for a few days. I'm so glad to have the support of everyone here. It does make a huge difference.

Welcome home chelle. sorry to hear you were sich at WDW. Must have been a real bummer knowing the parks were so close but so impossibly unreachable. I have to say your DH was very sweet and caring to book you a spa day after you recovered. Sounds like you had a least one romantic day.;)
Hope everyone has a good week, not looking forward to a new weeks especially after our snow day on Friday.

Thanks for the warm welcome back. It wasn't fun at all getting sick. One thing it did do is that it made me slow down for the rest of the trip. I never go that slow on a trip. But it was nice to go at such a slow pace. I didn't stress over missing so much stuff. We didn't even visit the side of Epcot with Test Track. Mission:Space is my favorite ride there. But after stomach issues I knew I better stay away.

Angelrose I was praying for you while I was away. Somehow I knew you needed it.

This morning it was difficult getting out of bed on time for work and getting back into that routine. Ugh.

Is it getting warm for the rest of you yet? It isn't here yet.

It's a tad warmer here tonight than last night. It was 22 last night and tonight it's 30. I could use a few more degrees. Maybe tomorrow.

Hope you are now on the mend.

Yes, I did need those prayers, Michelle. It was a difficult few days. But I am better now. I went from seeing them every day to once a week and now it's been two weeks. Chuck has the same cold that Karen and Jesse had. Hoping that next week I can visit again.

Tell them to stop passing those germs around to each other! Tell them that is an order from me! ;) I hate that they have all been sick. I hope you can go visit them real soon. It is so rough when one of your little ones is sick, especially when you can't be with them.

Yes, I'm on the mend. Still just very tired. But that is because my body is weird and takes a while to heal completely. I'm slow. Thank you.

We might get some flurries tonight. I don't want flurries. If it is going to do something do enough where work is called off for the day or don't do anything.

Hello everyone. I've been wanting to see Sherlock Holmes but never could find anyone to go with me. So today, I got up my courage and went to see it by myself. I'm not sure I liked it. It hardly focused at all on Holmes' powers of observation and deduction and more on his fighting ability. It definitely kept up your interest. But I doubt if I will buy it when it comes out on DVD. I prefer the old BBC series with Jeremy Brett.

But I did go by myself. It was nice to go in the afternoon. I went to the 1:30 show and there were maybe 12 people in the whole theater. I got home a little after 4, made dinner and watched tv. Some of it with my eyes closed. LOL

Glad you went out to see the movie today! Sorry it wasn't what you wanted it to be. I never really thought of him as a fighter.

We took a friend out for dinner tonight. Today was her birthday and her husband was out of town. I didn't want her sitting home alone tonight.

We have a kitty colony in our yard/basement. Last summer we would see cats around the yard once in a while and would see their little foot prints on the cars occasionally. Before we left for WDW we saw a kitten that decided to live under our little shed. We put out food for it but could tell it was eating somewhere. While we were gone the girl feeding out cats made it a kitty condo on our porch out of an old kitty litter container by putting a towel in it. This kitten is about the size of Luna. So it is probably less than a year old but getting close to a year old.

Sunday Larry started doing out mountains of laundry and found mommy & daddy kitty living in our basement. This morning he goes out to start the car and another kitty about the size of Luna is on the porch with condo kitty. Condo kitty LOVES to be petted. The others are too afraid of people. We were going to take condo kitty to the vet to get shots and to get him/her fixed but now I don't know if I can afford 2 kittens. Mom & dad don't stick around too long so I didn't think I could take them. I don't think we could catch them. But we don't want more kittens around. I'm going to have to get a 2nd job to afford these vet bills!

Yesterday condo kitten got into the basement and couldn't figure out how to get back out. It was crying. I had to go let him/her out. The he/she let me love on him/her for along time. Poor thing. I'd love to bring him/her in, but I'm afraid it may have something the others could get. It needs a vet visit first. And is our house big enough for 3 kitties and a dog AND Larry & me? :faint: I'm such a sucker when it comes to animals.

Oh chell, you and your animals! LOL I know vet bills can get really scary. We need a picture of the new kitty so we can all decide if you should keep it or not. :lmao:

Larry sent me one earlier to my phone. I'll have to see if I can get it on here.

The animals can smell that I'm a sucker for them. ;)

This is Condo Kitty. Yeah, he/she needs a real name. He/she looks a lot like Luna, but has the brown color. It likes to be loved on. If anyone around here wants him/her we will give him/her away. A few people have asked to see pictures already. I hope we can find him/her a good home. I don't want to be the super crazy cat lady with 3 inside cats and at least 3 outside cats too. :scared1: He/she is pretty.

It is past my bedtime.

I hope everyone is well.

Christine where are you? I hope you are okay.

AWWWWW what a pretty kitty. Hope you find a good home for him/her. Maybe put an ad in the paper or something.

It was a nice day here, so I did get out for a little walk. I should have done more. I talked to my friend and then went home. I will try and do better tomorrow. I'm get lazy!

I'm sorry to but in on your thread. But it's like karma -my Dh is snoring away in the other room so I came on the computer. Lo and behold I dropped in to see how you are doing and saw this post! Thank yo AngelRose for reminding me how sweet the sound really is.

You are not butting in snappyd. Glad to have you post. You just give you DH a hug. I miss so many things my darling Ron would do. His smile, his face when he was going to try and put something over on me, his laugh when I caught him, his blue eyes, his hugs, his strong arms around me and his snoring. He was my rock and the love of my life. Sometimes I feel him close by and other times he seems so far away.
