The post about over booking has now worried me. We were scheduled to stay overnight at an airport hotel and fly down at 6:20 am. When the hotel rates at Universal dropped and gave the 4th night free we decided to fly out at 8:10 pm and drop the airport hotel since the cost was the same, now we have 5 nights, yea! We had SW and I was able to change the day and time with no extra ticket cost. This way everyone will get a good nights sleep and not have to get up at 4 am we will be unpacked and ready to hit the parks in the am. Has anyone every arrived at 11:00pm? What should I expect, a really crappy location and maybe no room? I really don't want a hassle at this time of night, although everyone will probably sleep on the plane and be ready to go. This is our 4th trip and our 2nd to the Royal Pacific but always arrived in the morning. Thanks

I've arrived that late a couple of times (and later as well). Never had no room, can't say if my room locations have been crappy or not. Just average rooms, tower 3, middle floors, not the furthest from the elevators, but not the closest either. No real complaints over room location at RPR. Our room checking in at PBH was awesome when we were late, but then we also had requested a handicapped room due to me being there with a broken leg and needing a shower chair and a little more crutching room.

Did you call and have it put on your reservation that you will be having a late arrival? I always give them my rough arrival time (be it 10 PM or 1 AM) just so that they know how late we will be checking in.

When are you going? The summer season is ending, so it might not be a problem. Plus the horror story happened at the HRH, which seems to be sold out more.

I would call the hotel and request a specific room number a few days before your trip. It does show up at check in. Most try for room 1733-1719 (odd), 1633-1619 (odd), or 1533-1519 (odd). See this thread for more info about room numbers.

On the day of your flight, I'd call again just to confirm and beg them to give you the room requested, writing down the name of the person you spoke with.

One trip last year we arrived around 1 am. We had requested a parkview room - but there were none available. They gave us our room - tower one, but looking over the front entrance. Told us not to unpack (if we didn't mind moving) and check our messages when we got up. Low and behold, our message light was blinking at 8am. Called the front desk and they said they had a park view room for us if we wanted to move. Told us to just leave our bags by the door and they would take care of everything.

We went to the parks, came back, got new keys and our bags were waiting in our new room. I actually liked coming in late, because we got first pick of rooms the next morning. And since we arrived so late, we really didn't need to unpack yet. And since I always pack a carryon with a change of clothes for everyone and toothbrushes, etc in case we would get bumped on the airline, we didn't even have to open our regular suitcases.

But definitely call the day you leave and reconfirm that you have a late arrival!

I would agree with others who posted, just confirm and reconfirm and make sure that your late arrival is noted on the reservations...our "horror story" is probably due to some computer glitch that will be worked out...just confirm and have a great time

We checked into RPR at 10pm. Had reserved a 2 Q room. There were four of us. Get there and there are no rooms. Said there was a convention and some of the people decided to stay longer and took the rooms. She did get us into a King room with a pull out sofa. I agree to take it if she also included a roll away bed at no charge. It worked. In fact when they called the next morning to say that a 2 Q was available, I asked if we could have a roll away there too. (I have a boy and a girl teen). Desk clerk didn't think it would fit in 2Q room. So I asked if we could just stay where we were for the next two nights. They agreed. Got the roll away at no charge for all three nights and they didn't charge for parking either. Next spring I think I will make more of an effort to get over earlier from Disney. Staying at HRH next time.

i read the post about the overbooking also......

last year i arrived at hrh at 9 in the morning...............was told they had overbooked.....they knew that early the situation.

i was told i could stay at hrh my 4 nights or they would put me up club level at pbh for free and all my stuff would be moved by employees.

gee, two nights club level at pbh, at no costs, then be moved back to hrh for 2 nights.......only pay for that............not a hard decision to make...
