An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

I agree with the boys on It's A Small World. I find it a bit creepy too. :scared:

The boys look so cute with their capes. Too bad Carter didn't want to wear his, especially when he liked it at home:confused3

I'm happy to hear that you like the xmas party better. So many people seem to like Halloween/ October now that I was worried I am making a mistake in trying to get to WDW again in Nov or Dec but I really want to see all the x-mas stuff.

I'm sorry that Hallowishes was a disappointment! It just goes to show that Disney has something for everyone, I'm a little "meh" about Holidy Wishes, but LOVE Hallowishes (even though I do agree with you that Nightmare before Christmas is a little scary! :) ).

When we've seen it, no one screamed along for the scream along- maybe we should have been? :confused3 Well, you know how Disney guests are with listening to instructions

I love Holiday Wishes! That's always been my favorite fireworks show. Something about all the Christmas stuff and the Castle seems so magical. I've heard a lot of people say that Hallowishes is better, and I'm willing to admit that it may be better, but I'd way rather watch Holiday Wishes. I actually used to not mind some of the music from Nightmare Before Christmas, but then I saw the movie.:scared1:

That's good to know, that no one screamed along. I assumed they all would, but Disney guests do seem to have trouble listening to instructions sometimes. :rotfl:

I'm glad to see you say that you like MVMCP a little better than MNSSHP. It seems like about every other opinion on the boards is strongly in the opposite direction. I've never been in the fall, so I don't have a fram of reference, but I enjoyed MVMCP. Seeing someone voice the opinion that MVMCP is better makes me feel like maybe I'm really not missing out. :lmao::rotfl2:

That is really a shame that they didn't enjoy IASW. Did they ever tell you what it was that they didn't like about it?:confused3 It sounds like you were on your way before they started getting upset. Maybe they'd just heard the song a few too many times. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Great picture :thumbsup2

That's the same way I was before I went to MNSSHP. We'd been to MVMCP and really loved it. When I heard everyone on here saying MNSSHP is so much better, it sort of made me wonder if it really was that much better. It is still fun and worth going to, but party for party, I prefer MVMCP.

No, they didn't tell me what the problem was with it. I don't know. It definitely got progressively worse the longer we were in the ride, but these are the same boys who will listen to the same song on repeat for hours if I let them. :confused3

Thanks!

I so sorry that you didn't enjoy MNSSHP very much! I am also more of a Christmas person in general, so even though I've never been to either event, I can only assume I'd enjoy the Christmas party more too.

You're absolutely right, it's much easier to have an ally. ;)

Poor buddy sleeping through the party, maybe he'll learn to listen to his mommy :lmao:

You should try the Christmas party someday! It's very magical and jolly and if you like Christmas and Disney, it's just perfect. I bet Maddie would love it, too. Of course, MNSSHP was fun, too, but not like MVMCP.

An ally makes all the difference sometimes.

He'd better listen to his mommy next time! He would have had so much that night if he had napped when he was supposed to.

Hi Kate,

Sorry I'm a little late joining in :confused3

Your boys are both adorable and I've really enjoyed reading all about your adventures.

It's a shame that MNSSHP isn't your cup of tea but at least you sort of had a good time. At least you know not to bother again for a few years.

My son, who is almost 6, loves the teacups nearly as much as Carter does!

As for him not having his nap, as Mother Gothel would say....Mother knows Best! ;)

Hi! Welcome!

Never too late to join in around here. :goodvibes

Thank you! We've had a lot more adventures since having the boys. They always keep things interesting.

We did have a good time still at MNSSHP. I think next time it would be better to spend the Hallowishes doing something else. Maybe riding the Astro Orbiter so we could see the fireworks, but not hear the soundtrack.

Teacups is such a fun ride for kids! I love seeing kids spinning in a tea cup.

Most definitely, Carter did not know best that night. :rotfl:

I agree with the boys on It's A Small World. I find it a bit creepy too. :scared:

I never considered It's a Small World to be creepy, but I can kind of see it, after riding with the boys.

Thanks! I just thought if he was going to refuse to wear a cape, he should have done so at home, so I'd be prepared. It's just a cape. :confused3

WDW at Christmas is incredible! The fall decorations at the MK are nice, but it's not like at Christmas, where Christmas decorations permeate all four parks and there's so many special things to see.

Sorry to see you didn't enjoy Hallowishes that much, but at least now you know. One less party you have to plan for in the near future.:thumbsup2 I wish I could say whether or not I enjoyed Holiday Wishes more or less than Hallowishes, but I was sick at last year's MNSSHP and dozed through the fireworks.:rotfl: Maybe that's a sign that Holiday Wishes is the better of the two.
Besides, at least with MVMCP you get hot cocoa and cookies and snow on Main St. :thumbsup2

I definitely prefer MVMCP, but I'd still go back to MNSSHP. I'd just have to plan it differently so that we would be doing something else during Hallowishes. That's horrible, to be sick during MNSSHP. Carter had no trouble dozing through the fireworks, either, so I don't know what that means. :rotfl: I hope you get a do-over someday. I do think that I'd rather have the cookies and cocoa and the snow on Main Street than the trick or treating.

Sha little Carter sleeping through everything! :goodvibes

Okay, that parade looks completely awesome!!! Reid will flip out when he sees the Lost Boys with Peter Pan. Not to mention Tick Tock Crock! Would it be mean of me to wake him up if he's asleep? :rotfl: I was a little worried about MNSSHP after reading your 1st update about the party. But, now I'm excited!

I'm so glad the party redeemed itself! I'd go just to see the headless horseman!

What cool character sightings. I love the Candy Co. truck-so much fun!

I would probably offer Landon 100 lollipops too. He is pretty adorable. Bratty, whiny kids not so much.:rotfl:

Poor Carter. Did he even realize that he'd missed the whole party? Was he upset?

Poor Carter. Maybe next time he'll take that nap. :rotfl2:

The parade looks like it was very good. I know I wasn't all that impressed by the one at MVMCP, so I guess maybe that party's strength is its fireworks and the Halloween party has the better parade.:rotfl:

Yay, all was not lost!

I'm so glad you all enjoyed the parade! It is very magical and is one of the reasons why we're going to do MNSSHP again this October ::yes::

That's not faaaairr!! We didn't get any candy at all when we saw the parade! :lmao: I can understand whiny kid anyway. It wasn't as if there were any other CMs giving candy out during the party. Geesh. Too funny that Landon got another after!

So glad you enjoyed the parade! Too bad Carter didn't get to see it. He must've been super tired to sleep through the entire party!

I can't believe that Carter slept through the whole party! He is such a little trooper! It is kinda sad that he missed it, but better a sleeping kid than a grumpy one.

I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the parade and that it redeemed the party. I think the parade is just awesome, and I can't wait to see it again this year. We have the soundtrack and listen to it all the time. Everett can already sing along, so I guess he's more than ready! :rotfl:

I'm also sorry that your party got cut short, but maybe it was for the best. We can look forward to when the kids are older and they are the ones dragging us through the park late at night. I know I should be enjoying every minute of toddler-hood, but there are times when I wish we could just skip ahead a little, and night time at the parks is definitely one of those times!

Whenever I need a cute kids fix and not just my own grandkids, I know I can always get that from Carter and Landon.
One thing:
The Haunted Mansion and Hallowishes makes you uneasy, as far as maybe causing nightmares,,,,,

but a Headless Horseman riding through the streets on a steed is cool?
Okayyyy...

But I, too, didn't care for Hallowishes,,, I admit, we only saw it from the Poly Beach and more recently, From the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Towers, which was better,,, but it still seemed disjointed and mainly,,,, BLAH,, to me. I 'd still much rather watch regular Wishes, instead.
Thanks for taking the time and sharing, Kate.

I think he would have had fun, but at least he was sleeping and not awake and being grumpy all night.

It was a very awesome parade! I was really impressed with it. I'm sure Reid will love the pirate segment. The sword fights are really cool. It'd be a shame for him to miss it, but I'd never wake a kid up for it. I think you all will have fun at MNSSHP. We're going back this year, and I'm already excited, too.

The headless horseman was definitely worth the price of admission! That was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen.

The characters were awesome, especially all dressed up for Halloween.

Landon tends to make eye contact and smile at every stranger he sees, so it makes kind of makes sense. I'm sure that kid had a full bag of candy, too.

No, Carter still doesn't have any idea that the party ever happened! He loves the soundtrack of the Boo to You parade, but he had no idea what he missed. Maybe next year!

Poor Carter. Maybe next time he'll take that nap. :rotfl2:

He would have loved that parade, but he really should have napped when I told him to. I hope he's awake for it next time.

I've always loved the Christmas parade at MVMCP, but the MNSSHP parade was even better than that one! I'd say that's true for me, the Christmas fireworks are the best and the Halloween parade. Now if they ever made a parade that had the Boo to You parade and Holiday Wishes, it'd be perfect!

Yay, all was not lost!

I'm so glad you all enjoyed the parade! It is very magical and is one of the reasons why we're going to do MNSSHP again this October ::yes::

The parade really made our night!

That's a big reason why we'll be going back again this year, too. The Headless Horseman was so cool!

I almost think I might have given him one of Landon's, if the kid hadn't called Landon a baby, but once he did that, it was just more amusing to keep Landon's lollipops. :rotfl: I'm sure the kid had plenty of candy. And really, those lollipops weren't even very good candy.

Carter would have loved that parade, but I guess my plan to wear him out in the morning succeeded at last. He had had a big day and must have been exhausted.

I can't believe that Carter slept through the whole party! He is such a little trooper! It is kinda sad that he missed it, but better a sleeping kid than a grumpy one.

I was really surprised, too! I kept expecting Carter to wake up tired and miserable at any moment, but he was really, really asleep. I was sorry he missed out on the fun, but at least the rest of us had a good time.

That parade was so amazing! I can't wait to see it again, too. We listened to the soundtrack in the car twice today and Carter and Landon sing along, too. I bet they'd get along really well with Everett.

It probably was for the best, but I really love those last moments of a party night, once most people have already left and the park gets more and more empty. Sometimes, I find toddler-hood difficult to enjoy. It's a fun stage, but at the same time, it'll be so much more fun when they can stay out late and ride anything at Disney.

Whenever I need a cute kids fix and not just my own grandkids, I know I can always get that from Carter and Landon.

Thanks, Nebo! Carter and Landon are always good for cute fix. :)

I wish I could explain that, but really I've got no good reason to be uneasy with Nightmare Before Christmas and Hallowishes, but not the Headless Horseman. I don't know...it's just a feeling I got when I watched those two. Definitely no creepy feeling about the Headless Horseman, though. Anyone who can ride that good while holding his own head is awesome!

I'm always glad to hear someone else doesn't like Hallowishes that much, even if it's for different reasons than me. I don't really understand why it's so popular, unless it's just one of those shows that really needs to be viewed from Main Street. I'd rather see regular Wishes any time, too. It's more magical somehow.
Thanks for reading!

I'm SO far behind, so it's catch up time, MNSSHP style. :cool2:

Super PacMan. :lmao: Love the cape, you did an awesome job!

So you're telling me that we know more than a lot of CMs? This is sad news.

I bet I'd feel the same way about the Halloween party after going to the Christmas party, because Christmas is the best and Halloween is just... okay.

Your small world experience sounds awful. I wonder why the boys don't like it? :(

The photopass pictures are great! The 'scared' one is too funny!

CHRISTMAS PEOPLE UNITE! At least the fireworks themselves were pretty.

I've never even seen the Boo to You Parade in person and still it's one of my favorites! So awesome.

MNSSHP ended up taking a lot of updates!

Thanks! Super PacMan was the only thing Jeremy wanted to dress up as. :rotfl:

I couldn't believe how many CMs I had to ask before I got one who knew about Duffy. I would have thought every CM would know about Duffy.

Exactly! Halloween is okay, but just okay. Nothing special really.

I don't know why the boys don't like it. I suspect that Carter is the one who really doesn't like it and Landon is reacting to Carter's fear, but it's hard to know. Maybe there's just too much going on there or something.

I loved how those photopass pictures turned out. We definitely need to practice our scared look for next year.

The fireworks were pretty, and they probably were even better without the trees in front of us. Maybe I should bring sound blocking headphones for me next year.

The Boo to You parade is so amazing! I loved it so much more than I expected to. Can't wait to see it again!

Oh no! That's just terrible about all the rain. I've been there - parked stroller with no cover, get off the ride & it's soaked! :sad2: And I'm sure the boys' bickering didn't help your mood. At least y'all were able to get to CHH before the rain started again. Even if your poor stroller got another soaking. I hope that was the last of the rain but I have a bad feeling it wasn't.

Note to self: Bring stroller cover & ponchos every day on our fall trip!

Ughhh...I remember thinking the same thing that week, how great the weather was and how lucky we were, and then on Friday and Saturday it poured enough to last a week! I was annoyed just being wet myself, I can't imagine how annoying it must be dealing with a soaking wet stroller!

Glad the boys had fun on Pirates, that's so funny about the pirate toes, so weird the things kids notice! :rotfl:

It's the worst having shoes that are not good in the rain at Disney...I love my Crocs, and even in the rain they are pretty good (unless you break the same fashion rule that I do and wear socks with Crocs-:scared1:) but if the bottom is worn down even a little, you will be sliding all over the place! That's why I buy a pair of new Crocs now before each trip...which reminds me, I have to buy a new pair before our next trip! :woohoo:

I would never think the Country Bears are inappropriate for children, and I'm a "yankee" (I can't capitalize that, sorry, that makes me think of the NY Yankees and I can't associate myself with them in any way, especially after what happened with them and my Red Sox yesterday...:furious:)! Although, I have a feeling I don't really agree with most people on what is and is not appropriate for children! :rotfl:

I'm sorry CHH wasn't that great! I don't know why they'd bother giving you something like couscous at a CS place, that seems strange to me! I guess they figure if you're ordering salmon you're trying to be healthy? :rotfl:

Ugh, more rain! It just rained on and off that day, so annoying! But Saturday was even worse!

Nothing worse than wet slippery shoes at Disney....been there, done that:worried:

I am a Country Bears fan no matter what anyone else says, Jasmine loved it when she saw it for the first time and for that reason alone it holds a special place in my heart:)

CHH is one of our favorite lunch time escapes at the MK....we all love it there!

Completely enjoying your trip reoprt :)
That stinks aboutthe rain. We got a rain cover for our city mini and love it!! You'd better look into it! We just leave it folded up in the bottom at all times.

I also would like to let you know you jinxed me! Haha! We bought our city mini at the end of the summer and have only used a small handfull of times so far. Used it outlet shopping last weekend and kept telling DS3 to be careful cause he kept locking my wheel up so I couldn't turn. Haha! It wasn't him!! The wheel is locking on its own. I can only imagine how fustrated you were!! It drove me nuts.
