An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Here's my guesses:

Tim's on the cake thread
Glennbo's on the DVC thread
Cynthia is still crunching numbers on a spreadsheet with a fancy # on it
Amanda is opening another gift or packing
You're trying to just tread water on your own thread
TG is texting with xoktenox or doing homework
Millie's just trying to get to bed
Cherie's cooking up some new moves
Rosie's working

What are ya'll doing????

Hi!!!

I just got back from an appointment, and although I'm on emergency duty at 7 am tomorrow, I'm doing a little catching up before bed.

I have never done the pearl thing, and now feel like it is a must.

Glad your plans are set, and if I do manage to get to the World in September, we'll overlap at the end of your trip. :goodvibes

I just got very exciting news yesterday that the Dis and Dreams Unlimited team were able to book our group for a super cool special event on our ABD Backstage Magic Tour in April. We get to have breakfast at Club 33!!!! Just our group, from 8-10 am on one of the days of our tour. EEEEEEEEE!!!! is all I have to say.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Heather posted!!! You've been busy and stressed, last I heard from you, so I'm honored you stopped by!! :yay:

Do you often GET emergencies at 7:00??

I have never done the pearl thing, and now feel like it is a must.

I've not ever done it, but it sure looks fun and the fact that I have a necklace sealed the deal for me.

Glad your plans are set, and if I do manage to get to the World in September, we'll overlap at the end of your trip. :goodvibes

That would be so, so great!!! Let's keep an eye on that and have a meal or drink together!

NO WAY!!! That is the most amazing cool thing EVER!!! I'd be so excited for that too!! I've always wanted to go there- even for just a little peek inside. I'm sure the website does nothing to give it full justice. You'll definitely have to post something about that!

TG is texting with xoktenox or doing homework

:rotfl: You crack me up! Yes, I am usually texting her a lot of the day. It's amazing how well we get along. She's such a great friend.

As for homework...I haven't had much this week! Class was cancelled for me tonight, so I was able to just relax and watch another night of American Idol. I know, exciting right?! Fiance and I are definately not your typical college students. We're not into partying...and we'd rather spend a night at home together, and if we're home, we'd rather be with our families than going out.

apparently the math lesson is on hold.....:rotfl2:

Well now it's too close to lunch to start. :rotfl2:

Great friends are great to have !!! maroo and I are like that too! :thumbsup2

You sound like the kind of student I was. I made honor roll, and would so much would have rather just been at home studying. Of course, Friday nights we're usually out dancing, but during the week, I was pretty buckled down. Very boring.

nah not at all!

sending scud emails to crazed TKD parents
making fried rice
watching the olympics
going to bed

in that order

Finally broke down last June and got prescription shades. I don't know how they are going to work at WDW. On, off, on, off... dark rides, attractions, restaurants. :confused3 Maybe I should just go with clip-ons again?? :confused3:confused:

I just ordered my 2nd pair of Transitional lens and I LOVE:love::cloud9: them !!! They work great in winter too !!!

This a problem we've been thinking about here too for Mackenzie. Since she now wears glasses and needs to have them on to see distance I had to come up with a plan for her some sort of sunglasses for our trip to WDW. I did what Rosie did and took her in for transition lenses just the other day.
Leisa if you have a Costco or a Sam's near your home in OR, when you get back take your glasses and see if they can do them in time for your trip.

I don't mind changing back and forth from one pair to another, I'm use to it now, but with a 10 year old and myself....I thought transition was the route to go for Mackie. The reason I say these places is due to the cost, they are pretty cheap there.

But...I have to say....the baptism pic........ Makes it all worth it, huh. :cloud9:
::yes:: :love:

Sounds busy! I like having stuff like that to plan for, but, after 4 moves in 5 years I detest moving. It helps you get organized, that's for sure.

Melissa,I know just what you mean. Being ex-military we moved every few years, being here for almost 10 years I'm starting to get the itch to move. Sounds nuts but the house is about to start needing some repairs and upgrades and I'm about over the amount of carp that's accumulated since then, so it's either a major over-haul or a move.
If I'm not prying....I've often wondered why you all have moved as much as you have with your DH in law inforcement? More than likely I've asked, but all be darned if I can remember!

I LOVE the pick a pearl! I've done it the past 3 trips. I have 2 braclets and a necklace. One of the reasons I love them so much is I wear them every day and they don't scream "disney" but I smile whenever I see them. Those are my favorite types of souvieners

Mine too! I love souvies that don't wreak of Disney and I love the one's that do but have a function, to remind us our wonderful time there. Like a cup my kids may use every day to drink water or milk out of.
My goal this trip is to find Disney glass glasses to drink out of everyday for adults, and a few kitchen gadgets, think I can find them?? Of course they will be hard to travel back with, might have to rethink that one. I'll look online and see what I find that doesn't scream Disney.

I would keep the pearl souvie and ditch the rest if worse came to worse.

Ditto!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

You're probably pretty close.

Dang close for me!!! :rotfl: I've been contemplating getting off of here to sleep for hours now. Dang girl, you and Jordy are good!!

Liesa, I haven't posted in ages on your PTR, so sorry for dropping off. Congratulations on booking your flights at a reasonable prize. I always feel that getting a flight is the step that makes a trip so much more real. :thumbsup2

I was thinking about getting a pearl at Japan, but then I did not really want to watch them opening the oyster, I would have felt sorry for it. :confused3 I really like some of the ring settings, I hope you can do some magic with your budget so that you can get pearl and setting! :goodvibes

That's so great you and maroo get along so well!

OK! But seriously, staying home can be nice too. A good movie, a laptop, a game of Scrabble or Catan, it's all good!!

This reminds me, I need to call Mary.

nah not at all!

Mmm, we're having leftover Thai pork curry and fried rice. I wish I could watch the Olympics, but they only show hockey games between Slovakia and Russia. :sad2:

I'll be in Bowling Green first, and I know there's a Sam's there. There's also a Lens Crafters. I'll have to see which is cheaper. I suppose I could just go cheapo since I'm way over budget already, and just deal with the on/ off thing. There could be worse things to put up with. :lmao: Like kids asking to go on Dumbo! :rotfl2:

We still have Morocco, France, UK and Canada to ponder good souvies. So put your thinking caps on!

WOW! It has been sometime since you've posted here! But I know you've been busy with house guests, so no worries! I am very much looking forward to your TR, and look for it everyday. :)

I think the oysters may actually already be dead. At least that's what I read on the pearl thread. I really have no idea though. :confused3 Doesn't bug me. I'd eat them just as fast. :cloud9: YUM!

It really comes down to choices between eating at TS restaurants or having a few extra souvies. And right now, I'm sitting squarely "on the fence". Both sound nice.

Where in the heck is everyone tonight??
I fell asleep on the couch at 830pm and woke up at 11 when Mel got called into work. Made my way to the bed and slept till now. LOL Mel is sleeping in since she got home late... 2:30am.. not that bad though- it could of been worse.

Here's my guesses:

Everyone's lights are on, but there's not a lot of posting going on. :confused3
Was my light on? That is strange. :confused3:confused3

Hurray for you guys!!!!

I didn't take school serious enough. I was in all honors classes but just did enough to get B's. I could of applied my self more and definitely read more instead of skimming. I also played sports all through out HS & my short time in college which took a lot of time as well. I wish I could go back and do it again. As the partying goes.... errrrr I joined in my share of that. :rotfl2:

Since I am not a vegetarian it seems pretty stupid to care about the oysters... But I wouldn't eat the either, but just because I don't like shellfish.

What a difficult decision! I loved all of our TS meals, but in the end I was wondering wether they did not also take away quite a bit from our touring time. We had the time staying there for 9 full days, but in a shorter trip I might be tempted to do less TS meals. I am not a huge sounvenir buyer, I try to stay away from many small things and love getting one "big" thing, which is always something that can be used in daily life. So not so different from your ideas! :goodvibes However, I find it difficult at Disney to stay away from buying all kind of things... :rolleyes1

Just checked out your newest update on the train journey: UNBELIEVEABLE!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

That sounds a little like my wedding band. I wanted something a little out of the ordinary, and went with a single microspeck (that's all DH could afford) of a center diamond with a row of alternating diamonds and emeralds along the side of it. It turned out pretty, but it's so small. Ah well, like I said, I 'm not a big jewelry hound, and half the time it's being mucked in bread dough or garden dirt.

That sounds beautiful, Cynthia! I don't like big, gaudy rings. Well, actually - I'd take any ring right now. In 2008 I lost the center diamond out of my engagement ring, AND a few months later - I lost my wedding band!

Glad you took my idea about the glasses !! They are not necessarily as dark as sunglasses but do the trick !! They get rid of that awful brightnes from sun or snow !!

On the souvies I just started picking up Disney kitchen things /\.. I have measuring cups and 2 serving thingies all of which are used daily !!!
