An Inch shy of 44 inches

This again? I threw no fit. I said "Well your name is mud", and walked away. It wasn't even in a totally impolite way. Gezzus get off your high horses everyone.

Perhaps you should have thought about how people would react to your treatment of a CM before you posted it and then continued to defend it.
The problem with posting on message boards is that you cannot control who will respond, or what will be said in response, so if you will be upset that people do not support your behavior it may make sense to refrain from sharing unbecoming behavior.

I'd like to know how you can call someone a name in a polite way.:rotfl2:

All that anger is still there in your post. Which is why it is very hard to believe you were polite when insulting a CM for doing their job. And if I'm a high horse because I've never call a CM or any other worker a name, then I guess I'm on a horse.

I am not upset. I just think everyone who says they have never called another adult human a name is lying. Because it cannot be that the 10 most perfect humans on the planet responded to this one post. I will defend mt actions as long as I need to.

I don't think anyone is claiming to be perfect. I had a lot of ugly words about someone just yesterday...a lot in my head, some in the privacy of my own home, but it wasn't in public, in front a kid, to someone just doing their job. I think most people can go through life without getting heated about someone doing what they're supposed to. I saw a dad lose it at a hotel in WDW because his room wasn't ready (it wasn't check in time either) and then got even more pissed when we had our room (different room type). What was the point of making it a bigger deal? Why are you calling people on the internet liars when I'm assuming we're just here providing our own personal stories. Everyone has bad days, sounds like in this experience you were, but sometimes its ok to say "yeah, not my finest hour" and I can assure you we ALL have those, we just don't have to cuss a person merely doing their job to uphold the safety of some theme park guests.

I feel like I've contributed to our poor horse (high or not) being dead, so I guess I should stop rambling.

My 3yr old is a little over 39in no shoes. I’ve never measured him with shoes. We are still 140 days from our trip. So my plan is to measure him closer to our fast pass making day with shoes and see which rides I should include him on. Either way everyone needs a fast pass To do rider swap if that’s the line we go to right? So if he ends up being too short we just do the rider swap right?

This!

And what's the name of your horse?? :lmao::lmao:

We went to a water park once that weighed you and you had to be a certain weight, I have twins, one was allowed the other not, to say she was devastated is an understatement. Especially since they are very close in weight and height

That sucks!

For our family, the big one is the Harry Potter ride at Universal. Last time we went there, my youngest was 3, and clearly too short to ride. As a result, I also didn't get to go--we did the rider swap, but once (in one day) was enough for the other kids, so I ended up not going at all. We're finally, finally returning to Universal this year--my youngest is now 12, and 5'8". So, this is going to be our year!

I do wish the OP good luck. Things may not work out, but your child will take cues from you--if you have an attitude of "Next time, for sure!", your child will know it's not the end of the world. If you blame the CM and call them names--well, your child will learn a lesson there, too.

An adult calling a worker a name in front of their child and other children is rude and impolite. Can’t see how you can defend that - you verbally abused her and act like it’s ok (yes look up the definition of verbal abuse). You are lucky the CM didn’t contact security. What a way to teach and act in front of kids

I think the poster's constant defense of the behavior is indicative of the treatment CM's receive from some guests. It baffles me, but I do believe that there are people who view the value of those folks in any service role as less than their own. To then describe it as "not even in a totally impolite way" is in my eyes, the root of the probelm. Apparently there are degrees of acceptable insults for some. For me? There are none, so while I have no dog in that person's race, I am not going to validate her reasoning.

I've worked retail for 30 years. Unfortunately her behavior is not surprising. People have learned that if they complain or throw a fit they will 90% of the time get their way. But it makes it awful in those cases where you simply cannot budge. Like rules in place for safety.

I'm guessing anyone that overheard your tantrum, and you attacking a CM for just doing their job, probably called you a few things in their head and maybe out loud to their family, too. I know I would've.

I know that while I tend to stay quiet if I think my comments will escalate an already stressful situation, I knwo that I cannot mask my expressions.

Call security? That's hilarious.

Seriously you don’t understand what you did was verbal abuse and you are truly lucky security wasn’t called to escort you out. The CM had every right to do that- what gives you the right to insult someone with a childish name who was doing their job to protect your child’s safety. If you want to endanger your child that is your business but it is not up to you to get nasty i when someone is doing their job . Nobody is going to jeopardize their job for your child to ride !

Hopefully your kid will grow just enough. Just because he can get on one 44" ride doesn't mean all will work. When we went the first time my youngest was hovering at 40". He measured just right for Splash and rode. We immediately walked over to Big Thunder and he wasn't tall enough. Poor kid was so sad as he was sure he was getting on because he had just measured 40" 15 minutes before. He was able to get on Soarn'.
We were at Hershey Park, with our 5 kids. Our youngest (4 year old twins), exactly the same height, just made they height requirements for the bigger rides. The kids wanted to go on the swings again, for some reason ds didn’t make the height requirement. He was crying, watching his 4 siblings ride. What can you do.

It is really hard on kids to be told yes in one place and no in another (especially if it's the beginning and end of a long line!)

It's a shame they can't just get measured once at guest relations, and then it's good for the whole day. (I realize they won't do it, because people would cheat, but it's still a shame.)

at Hershey have your close in height kids measured at beginning of day and get a wrist band but that does not work at Disney

that is what happens when people cheat and change bands. and before you say have it on the magic bands those can be traded so that wont work either
