Can I have the mousse recipe?
Doing great Amy....keep up the good work!

Glad you're feeling better, Amy. Hope you have a good week this week.

Take it easy, still. Surgery isn't that far in the past.

I feel great, just like I never had any surgery done. The bloating/swelling is almost completely gone. I will be happy with my weigh-in tomorrow… I am SO glad I didn’t get discouraged and binge on junk just because I was bloated and yucky from surgery. Maybe I am maturing… :rolleyes1 I made the mistake of buying some papaya chunks yesterday. :confused3 I thought I would be able to control it, but not so great… :guilty: I am not going to eat any today (promise to myself). Yesterday I drank 100oz of water and a DC:

6:20am: Egg Beaters w/FF Cheddar; Oatmeal
10:00am: FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c); Strawberries (1c)
12:00pm: Pork Chop; Cauliflower; Quaker Multigrain Minis (9)
2:30pm: Egg Whites (4); Apple
5:00pm: Wheat Spaghetti w/Parm (no sauce); Papaya Chunks; EFL Mousse
8:30pm: Blueberry Bar (50cal); Papaya Chunks
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: Garlic Bread
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, the mousse is awesome! You'll love it! :love: You are SO right about the challenge and I came to that realization last night. I'm not going to drop dead or instantly gain 30lbs just because I didn't make my goal. It's just a number on the computer screen for cryin' out loud! :rotfl:
Marie, I make both chocolate and vanilla mousse. You put 1c skim milk and 2 scoops protein powder (chocolate or vanilla) in the blender, for about 15 seconds. Then add 2tbsp of FF/SF pudding mix (chocolate or vanilla) and blend for 30-45 seconds. Fold in 3/4c Cool Whip Light. Split into 2 servings and put in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. It is delicious! :cloud9:
Julie, thanks for stopping by! I know I will be glad that I waited to work out for a whole week.
Thats good news! You've recuperated very quickly. Take things easy & don't overdo it. I haven't tried the mousse yet. I keep forgetting to add it to my shopping list. It sounds delicious. I noticed there was a cheesecake recipe in the book. I wonder how that tastes.
Papaya chunks don't sound so bad - their low cal & no fat. A lot better than that garlic bread you resisted!
Amy, thanks for the recipie...it sounds great!
Also, you are doing great on the recovery. I agree w/ your DH....a week to be 100% is a good idea. Don't overdo it today.
Weigh-in this morning was 136!!! :cool1: I still have 2lbs of cruise weight to get rid of, but I am happy with how things are progressing. :teeth: The next trip we have planned is Mexico (May 5-7). I always gain a few lbs when we go there (too many margaritas!). I am going to the new gym today to work out and get my 5 day free pass. :cheer2: That way I can try out some of the weekend classes. I’ll sign up Monday when my pass expires… I am really ticked off today. :furious: Someone stole our Jeep right out of our driveway! Luckily it was our 3rd vehicle, but that was going to be DS's when he turned 16. And it was the vehicle we took camping, etc. We live in a really nice neighborhood, but I guess the hoodlums will find a way to commit a crime no matter what... Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea and a DC:
6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
9:00am: Balance Bar
11:30am: Chicken; Wheat Noodles; Carrots
3:00pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple
6:45pm: Crockpot Stroganoff w/Wheat Egg Noodles
8:30pm: FF Yogurt
WORKOUT: None (walk didn’t happen because of rain :umbrella: )
RESISTED: Papaya Chunks
Beth, I agree on the mousse... :lovestruc
Jane, it’s not the papaya chunks themselves that’s bad (even though they have added sugar) – the quantity I eat is the problem. I bet I ate 4 servings total (at 100 calories per serving!)… They are just so yummy! I should get some fresh papaya, cut it up and eat that instead.
Marie, let me know how you like the mousse. I need to make some more... I can't wait to get to the gym tonight, to work off some of this stolen Jeep frustration!
Hi!!
I haven't been by in a while!! Kind of fell off the Wish journal wagon so to speak!
I can't believe someone stole your Jeep!! How nervey!
Great weigh in!! Keep it up!
Sorry to hear about your jeep - thats awful. Hope you get another one quickly for ds. Believe me, you don't want him driving your car - even if he does have a few years left before he gets his license. I can't wait until my ds gets his own!
Way to go with the 136! :cheer2:
Another trip for May! You sure get around!
I was SO proud of myself yesterday! :thumbsup2 I had to get some Easter candy for DD (a school project) and Walgreens had it on sale 2 for $3 (normally $3 ea). I had 4 bags in my hand, then put 2 away so I didn’t have them around the house. I gave her a bag of Reese’s Mini Cups and kept a bag of York Peppermint Patties (which are 50 calories each). I can actually have 1 or 2 of those and not binge and it kills any chocolate craving I am having. Yay for me! :cheer2:
What can I say, the new gym is very nice!!! It’s less crowded, quieter and I don’t see someone I work with every 5 minutes… The one problem is that all the equipment is different and it was hard to find stuff I wanted, or what the machines did for that matter! :confused3 But different isn’t bad, just different and I can learn my way around. ::yes:: I will definitely sign up when my free pass expires on Monday. I took it easy with the weights and on the elliptical (since it had been 2 weeks), but had no weird pains or anything, so I consider myself fully healed. :teeth:
I have not been very good about getting my veggies in. :guilty: I need to do better in that area. I liked the EFL dinner last night. I made the kids’ without the portabella mushroom – I wasn’t in the mood for whining and complaining. I personally hate mushrooms, but choked it down since it is a veggie… I went a little overboard with snacks (why is it when I work out I want to eat everything in sight when I get home?) but my weight was the same this morning, so no harm done. I drank 100oz of water; 2 cups green tea; a DC:
6:15am: Egg Beaters w/FF Cheddar; Oatmeal
9:00am: FF Cottage Cheese; Cantaloupe
11:45am: Chicken; Wheat Egg Noodles; Carrots
2:30pm: Egg Whites (2); Laughing Cow Light; Apple
5:00pm: Quaker Multigrain Minis (9); Papaya Chunks (lots – at least they are gone now)
6:30pm: EFL Italian Turkey Sandwich (1/2 – too full from junk snack :sad2: ); Broccoli; Peppermint Patty (2)
8:30pm: SF Caramel Pudding
WORKOUT: Walking (40min); Elliptical (30min); Weights (30min)
RESISTED: Boss’s Candy Dish (why does he keep refilling it?)
Vanessa, thanks for stopping by! Yes, it is the pits about the Jeep. I'd like a few minutes alone with the idiot(s) who took it... :furious:
Jane, the kids were SO upset about the Jeep! And of course DS is worried about what else might get stolen. There is no way he will drive my car when he gets his license. Besides, currently I drive a minivan - how uncool is that? :rotfl: I have 6 years to figure something out, so I'm not going to stress too much for now...
How awful about the jeep!! Do the police have any leads?
Amy, congrats on the 136!! that's great! I told ya it would drop off in no time!!
Hopefully the police will find the jeep....it's been known to happen...sorry you're going through that stress.
I haven't had a chance to try the mousse yet.....what is protien powder? (i'm an idiot...sorry) and where do you get it?
Ya know, i'm the same way after I workout - I want to eat something....bag of chips....box of cookies....you name it!! don't know why either....hhhmmmmm.....
anyway, keep up the good work....you're doing great!!
marie
Way to go with the workout!! 100 minutes! :woohoo: Between that and the Easter candy resistance, you're going to be looking good for your trip to Mexico.
I'm glad you like your new gym. I bet it won't take long for you to get used to everything. Its great to have one so close to your house.
aren't those work candy dishes the hardest!!! I seem to always have weak moments around those. Great job on resisting!!
Where has this month gone? I can’t believe it’s almost Easter! I have gotten pretty good at throwing out candy (I used to hate “wasting” anything). So I am not too worried about leftovers this time around… I actually ate a single candy from my boss’s candy dish and stopped at that! :cool1: I had to get rid of the broccoli taste in my mouth… I was very happy with myself. Got more veggies in, which is a good thing.
I got in an extra 30 minutes of walking yesterday! :cheer2: I went home, did my DVD, then I walked to pick DD up at school. Well, I took a different route (down the back alley) and it turns out I had to circle all the way around, about a block out of the way. So a 15 minute round trip turned into ½ hour…
No word on the Jeep. The insurance company said that if they don’t recover it within 2-3 weeks, their Total Loss Department will contact us. I just thought that was amusing. Can you imagine working for the Total Loss Department? What a bummer of a job… Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea and a DC:
6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
9:00am: Balance Trail Mix Bar
11:45am: Leftover EFL Italian Turkey Sandwich; Broccoli; 1 Caramel
2:45pm: FF Cottage Cheese; Apple
6:30pm: EFL Taco Pasta Salad; Zucchini; Peppermint Patty (2); Graham Cracker
8:30pm: FF Yogurt; Quaker Multigrain Minis (9)
WORKOUT: Walking (70min); Pilates Sculpt DVD (55min)
RESISTED: More peppermint patties; the urge to not workout…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beth, the police have nothing. Since we are so close to Mexico, there is a very high probability we will never recover it. And if we do recover it, it will most likely have most of its parts missing. :furious:

Marie, you can get protein powder at the grocery store in the health food section. I usually get mine at Hi Health. They have different flavors. I like the chocolate and vanilla kinds. They are great - you can add it to smoothies too.

Jane, I have gotten to the point where I don't think I will ever get to the weight I want. So my goal is to look great in a swimsuit and get my body fat down to 15%. That means lots of working out and eating clean 80% of the time. I'm sick of being frustrated by the scale. When I tell people how much I weigh, they can't believe it is that much, so I must not look too bad. :blush:

Vanessa, I am fine if I don't see that stupid candy dish, but the minute I know it's there, I want some! It's awful!

You're eating has been really clean this week. Great job on sticking with your eating plan & accumulating those workout minutes. You're getting healthy, raising your metabolism & strengthening those muscles!

So sorry about your jeep. I hope the insurance company works quickly! Thats so aggravating and scary.

Speaking of weighing more than you look, a few years ago I was on the scale at the grocery store. An older female bagger came by, read ALOUD "145 lbs!!" then said, " you don't look like you weigh that much - I thought you weighed about 125." She said it loud enough for several customers and workers who were close by to hear. Thought that I'd die!

Amy, you really are doing great!
You really are an inspiration for me to keep going and stay on track....
thanks!

marie

Amy, you continue to do great!

Glad to hear you're recovered from the surgery, but sorry about your Jeep :sad2:

I'm always hungry post-workout also, and I try to have a protein snack afterwards (cheese or a protein bar) I've read that your body burns it up quicker in the two hours after the workout.

Have a good weekend!

Chalk yesterday up as my free day! Instead of working out, DH and I went to Outback... :blush: We split a meal, so that wasn't bad - it was the martinis and trip to Baskin Robbins afterwards that didn't do me any favors! :rotfl: But that is part of life and as long as I am not eating/drinking like that every day, I'm gonna enjoy it when I do! :thumbsup2

I didn't make my Exercise Challenge last month, so I am extra determined to make it this month. I am planning on going to the gym today, but there is so much to do (we are having people over for DH's b-day, which is tomorrow. He turns 48! :eek: ). Yesterday I drank 100oz of water; 2 cups green tea; a DC and 3 martinis :rolleyes1 :

6:15am: Egg Beaters; Oatmeal
9:00am: FF Cottage Cheese; Cantaloupe
11:45am: Leftover EFL Taco Pasta Salad; Zucchini; 2 Caramels
2:30pm: Egg Whites (4); Apple; 2 Caramels
5:00pm: Salad w/Ranch; 3 pieces bread-n-butter; 3 Coconut Shrimp; 1/2 Filet; Broccoli
7:00pm: 2 scoops Baskin Robbins (Baseball Nut & Tea of Tranquility)
9:00pm: Quaker Multigrain Minis (10); Peppermint Patty (2)
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: Cone at Baskin Robbins
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, I think I would have died on the spot if someone announced my weight to the masses! But that is a good thing to look like you weigh much less than you actually do. It means you are packed with muscles and not fat!
Marie, thanks for those kind words! I am happy to help you out, as so many of my WISH buddies have helped me! :grouphug:
Kate, I will have to try eating a more healthy protein snack after working out instead of junk carbs. Thanks for the tip!
I've never even heard of those flavors of ice cream. They must've been good - it sounds like you enjoyed your free day. Happy Birthday to your dh - now he's as old as me! party: Have fun at your party tomorrow. Monday we'll both be back on track & losing weight!
