Thanks ladies. Today was pretty good with food, I didn't work out, by the time we got home from church, I was wiped out. I am fighting a cold and just feel exhausted. The fact its snowing and freezing doens't help! I took a nap and feel so much better.
I am very discouraged about how much pain I am in. I could barely get down the stairs yesterday and today. I have been feeling so much better lately, the glucosmanine and the walking and aquasize were seemingly making my knees hurt less. Now, I am hurting more than ever. Five years ago my doctor told me if I didn't lose weight, I'd have to have knee surgery in five years. Instead I have gained more weight.
I can't decide if doing Shred tomorrow if I am still hurting makes sense or not. I may talk to my aquasize instructor on Thursday, she's also a certified personal trainer and ask her what is the best exercise for me to do right now at this weight with my knee and hip issues. The absolute last thing I need to do is hurt myself and risk not being able to do the things I can do. Which in reality are what has me down the 6.6 in four weeks.
Ds got home from camp, I was really relieved they had some bad weather and a 13,000 foot pass that was snow packed and windy to navigate across. He had a wonderful time and they are doing a trip to Southern California in July. I see some fundraising in my future and ds knows he has to earn half the money as well!
I am so proud of ds. He has really come into his own. And I cannot remember if I posted this earlier (looked back and didn't see it) but ds was walking home with a friend a couple of weeks ago when it was almost dark and super cold. He saw an older lady out walking alone, and got worried (icy sidewalks) and sort of kept an eye on her to see where she was going. Well, sure enough, she took a really bad fall, he and his friend ran over to help her, she had fallen on her face and hands. He sat with her, she was confused, bleeding, really upset and in pain. He and his friend decided they had better call 911, she had so much blood in her mouth they couldn't understand her when they asked her where she lived. Turns out she had had a stroke in September. If he hadn't gotten worried and watched her to see where she was going, who knows how long she might have laid there, she was hidden from the street by a parked car and on cold nights, not many people are out and about. She didn't even have a coat on. Her husband was so relieved (he was at work when this happened) the boys saw this happen and went to help her. I heard today that the very next day she tripped over her dog and broke her wrist. I feel so bad for her and her husband. She's only 62, it will be such a shame if she has to go into Asst' living this young. In any case, he's come such a long ways and turned into such a fine young man. I had several people come up to me today at church and tell me what a great kid he is. That feels so so good. I want him to get those grades up, but then again, maybe he's just fine the way he is and maybe I need to accept he's not ever going to be a straight A student. Okay, brag over!
Amy: I honestly try as hard as I can. When I bumped it up, it felt okay at the time, but ever since, I can barely walk! I know Jillian says 400 pound people do this stuff but then again, they are on the ranch with doctors and trainers to tell them if they are doing it right and help them if they start to get into trouble. I so sweat, I just don't drip the way those contestants do but then again, those workouts are way longer than 20 minutes!
Tracy: Dottie's site is very helpful. She doesn't have any pizza on the Old C's section, which is what put me over to their nutritional site. And yep, Red Lobster, Red Robin, Outback, all of them have extremely high fat options. And I of course like those the best too!
Barb: I think Old Chicago pizza is one of the worst. If you get thin crust and mostly veggies, its not always a bad thing. Sodium though is killer at pretty much every restaurant choice across the board.
