Seriously though, I just want you to know how much I appreciate your kindness and encouragement through my craziness, Joanne! And I know you're 100% right about Karen!

As far as my theme, I figured lots of Disney princesses live in little cottages in the forest (Aurora, Giselle, Snow White, LOL) so that completely works with the "Happily Ever After" thing that I've got going!

I think *lots* of people are having similar issues with them. They clearly need to rework how they handle clients, and it seems like they need a LOT more employees than they have! I hope things are working out better for you now!

Aw, thank you Natalie! I'm back in the mode of "it's the ceremony that matters, not the location or the photo shoot", and I've realized that it's super-important to me to be able to TALK to a planner when I need to, and Just Marry/Karen just blows DFTW away in that respect alone!

So today I'm putting together my ideas for our decor and need to see if our florist can do what I want. I'm crossing my fingers she'll be willing and able!

Well, we've come to a decision. DFTW is ruining Disney for us and we are DONE with them.

Them taking the MK shoot away after promising it to us before we signed to come back was the first big thing, and then we've spent over a week trying to reach our planner AND consultant to try to add a luncheon (hello ... Disney? want my money? apparently not!) all the while hoping the space wasn't getting booked by someone else .... I absolutely cannot deal. I just can't. I'm bitter, I'm angry, I'm supremely disappointed. The way we've been dealt with is an absolute disgrace.

I called Karen at the end of the week with my hat in my hand and she graciously welcomed us back to Just Marry and the Swan. Crescent Terrace was still available, I still had our photographer, videographer and minister (and Mickey and Minnie!) set for that space anyway, so there wasn't much to change. Already the difference in service is night and day. Leaving them initially and trying to go back to DFTW was the biggest mistake we could've made, but we've now rectified that.

My new vision is for a sort of "enchanted forest" out there in the trees by the water ... I'm having fun planning it, but have to admit I'm still bitter over losing my MK dream. But Disney doesn't care, so I have to get to the point where I don't, either.

I am glad that you have come to a decision that is right for you. It sounds like it was definitely the right decision to make. Things can only get better from here on in. I think it is very telling that they only time I got any kind of timely response from DFTW is when I cancelled our vow renewal. You have deserved better than them.

We're working with Karen and using crescent terrace too! I can't wait to hear about your plans for decorating it. We're trying to figure that out too!

How cool that you're using the Terrace, too! I just forwarded my floral ideas to Karen today and I'm waiting to hear back on the viability of my plan. Nothing too fancy; I want an arbor and some urns with flowers, and then we've booked Chiavari chairs from A Chair Affair and I want to have those decorated with little floral bunches and ribbons, too.

We're also looking into having a small luncheon at the Swan instead of just going as a group to Kona Cafe. I'd love to be able to have it outside right at Crescent Terrace! Karen thought I'd hear something from the catering department by the end of the week hopefully.

I also got a call from the saleswoman at Tiffany today and found out that they were unable to locate my ring in my size at any of their stores, so I'm going to get a brand new one from New York as soon as it's made! It could take as long as a month, but she was hopeful it would be sooner.

I like that way of looking at the ring! Jeff's came today, in fact, and he's really happy with it. It's a little bigger than I thought it would be, but he's a big guy, so it he likes it.

I'm hoping they can. Karen says they've held other events like cocktail parties out there, so I'm crossing my fingers. Il Mulino is a great idea ... such a beautiful restaurant! I'm a little bummed that the really great restaurants are only open for dinner there, since we're having a morning ceremony. So hopefully we can figure something out, or it's a group lunch at Kona.

Well, today we are officially 5 months away from our vow renewal.

Interestingly enough, we faxed in our cancellation letter to DFTW and haven't heard a single word back from them. The day after we faxed it, we tried to reach our planner and of course had to leave voice mail. We told her we just wanted to confirm that they'd received our letter of cancellation. Still no call back. I don't even know what to make of that.

In the meantime, we've gotten our cake figured out. We're going with It's Tasty, Too after reading Joanne's reviews. We gave our inspiration photo to them and to the Swan bakery and the Swan came back at $200 more for the same cake! Yikes!!

We're also going through quotes from other florists, as it looks like our original choice might not be able to really capture the vision we're going for.

And ... I found a dress!! I'm having one custom made by a designer on Etsy. She has great feedback, and I'm very excited to work with her. I know I'm taking a huge chance getting a dress I've never tried on, but I figure by now, SOMETHING has to start going right, and I've decided my dress is going to be that thing! We're right down to the wire as far as getting it in time for our VR, but fortunately not so close as to need a rush fee.

Ooh, and our aisle runner came! And we bought tablecloths from Bed Bath & Beyond for the guest book table and altar table that match it perfectly. AND my jewelry is due to arrive today! VERY excited about that!!

So that's where we are today! Things are moving right along.
